I've been in my home now for 12 months without making a payment, not sure how I got to stay for so long, but the bank finally caught up with me and issued the notice of default. I'm really attached to my place, sure it wasn't of my financial means to be keeping, but I wanted to stay there, and rightly so in today's economy, my house is only worth 250k, but in the peak it was worth 750k. I bought for 595 and thought I had it good sitting on 100k of equity; wow, what an eye opener that was. So now upside down in equity wasn't so bad, except for my loan arm adjusted to almost double, while I took a paycut at my job of 10 years as a metal fabricator. Regardless, I went from 3,500 a month payment to 5,900 month payment. Not something that was cool by any means. I mean come on really, I was paying interest only on a house that I could rent today for 1,600 - 1,800 a month. I love the place but really Goldberg brought it to my attention what I was doing to myself. I was killing myself for nothing, to simply pay the bank interest. He opened my eyes a little more. Sure I knew, but when you hear it from a guy like Goldberg who is an expert and can see through it all in seconds, you tend to really tune into it all and I did. I filed Chapter 7 and walked away from all my debt, what a relief, I'm completely free and clear of it all and for the first time in years am happy every day, not stressed out.
I recommended Goldberg to my sister as well and she used him for her bankruptcy and everything on her end was went smooth as well. I'm sure there are desperate people that come in with tons of problems, and maybe you can't help everyone, but my sister, my family and myself all work hard, we try to make the best deals possible and are intelligent. So I say thanks, it's the least I can do for getting my life financially back on track.
Pros: Great at cutting through the hype and getting real
Cons: Moves very quickly.
