Buyer Beware 9/19/2011

I wish I had read the reviews before shopping there! I don't know how long Lakewood Jewelers has been in Kirkland, but I recently saw them and was pleased to find that they carried Pandora beads - My mom is into them so I bought a couple at a great price. The woman told me that they were a discontinued bead which is why I got such a good ""deal"". When I eventually gave my mom her gift, one of the beads fit her bracelet and the other did not. I went back with the bracelet to show them the issue and requested an exchange, an EXCHANGE for the exact same product at which point he asked me for the receipt. If you have ever shopped there, you will see that their ""receipt"" is one of those cash registers strips which doesn't have any branding or item information whatsoever and is about 2 inches long. Because I didn't have this tab of paper, he wouldn't exchange it, proceeded to attempt to force the beads onto the bracelet (which freaked me out since it is a genuine product and I don't want him stripping the dang thing!) and then asked me, ""what do you expect for 14 dollars!"" I responded that I felt that if he was interested in customer service, that he would do the exchange and explained that I wasn't expecting a defective bead. He became belligerent and at that point I gave up, I did report them to the BBB as well, as they are selling Pandora branded beads which are not genuine. Stear clear of this establishment, oh, and they buy gold - good luck with that one. more

This Jeweler is a Liar. Wish I could give it 0 Stars 2/19/2008

Early Dec we order my band and two bands from a catalog for fiance to look at\r \r early Jan, Not having heard from Jeweler, we called and are informed that Fiance has to come in AGAIN and look at catalog (?)he goes next day\r mid Jan, I call and am told custom rings take 6 weeks to arrive. I have small fit, remind him that we haven't even chosen a ring yet. He suddenly remembers, says rings will be there Thur But that mine is finished. We agree to come in on Thur\r Thur 1/31 go to store late afternoon am told rings still not in. Look at my ring. IT IS COMPLETELY WRONG SHAPE. I have fit, tell him he better have it done by the following week and that we will be in the next day to look at the rings for Fiance.\r Fri 2/1 jeweler only got one ring to show us, and it is completely wrong. very wide and shiny. We leave store, I go to different Jeweler, explain what I need. they get perfect band in matter of days.\r Thur 2/7 Wedding is 1 week away. Go to pick up my ring. It is strangely mishappen. Tell Maurice we'll take it and maybe it will be ok.\r Thur 2/14 Wedding Day! Exchange rings. Unbelieveably, mine is 1 size too BIG!\r Mon 2/18 take ring back to Lakewood Jeweler. Show him that not only is it mishappen, it's too big. He says he'll make another, I tell him I want my money back. He refuses. Tells me I damaged it. I remind him that it was like that when I picked it up. And we had talked about it already, he says I did it myself. I asked how I could have done that in the 4 days I had had it on. He just shrugged and mimed smashing his hand on the counter. Tells me I lost weight and thats why it's too big. (Strangely my engagment band is perfect still) I point out that my other ring fits and he just shrugs and repeats that I had lost weight. I told him there was no way I was going to allow him to try a third time to make my ring and that he would be hearing from us again. I'll update when this is concluded. In the meantime. Don't go to this jeweler, don't trust anything he says. Cons: lying, blaming the customer for shoddy workmanship. more

Unscrupulous jeweler 11/18/2007

I'm still in awe of what transpired... I brought in something to be repaired by this jeweler. He said it would be ready within the week. Two weeks later, I went to pick it up and it hadn't been done. \r \r Personnel matters prevented me from going to his shop for several weeks and when I did, the piece was nowhere to be found. The jeweler insisted that I had picked it up and should look in my car and house. Weeks passed. Finally, I insisted that he reimburse me for the piece along with the cost to have it repair, $30. He begrudgingly wrote me a check. Then three days later, he called and reported that a ""customer"" had mistakenly taken my piece. \r \r When I went to pick it up, I said that I would write him a check for the amount of the piece less the cost to have it repaired since I?d made numerous trips to his shop and he?d repeatedly insinuated that I was trying to cheat him. He demanded the full amount, explained that he?d paid the ?customer? $10 for bringing back MY piece! Adding insult to injury, he immediately rushed to the bank and cashed my check as if I had written him a bad check! I wouldn?t trust this man to fix a cheap Seiko watch, let alone a valued piece of jewelry! \r more
