They Really Listened to Me 2/21/2012

I recently had an issue with the navigation system on my 2009 Hyundai. I came in to have it replaced. Since it had already been replaced once (in October, 2011), I was told that it was no longer under warranty and that I would be responsible for payment. Obviously, that did not make me happy...and I made my feelings known. My service adviser, Tom, patiently listened, then spoke to the service manager, Morris, about the situation. They both went to bat for me with their rep...and the issue was resolved. Tom then followed up with me, quickly and efficiently, and made sure that installation of the new unit went smoothly. I want to commend them on the quality of people they have on staff...and tell everyone how important it is to the consumer to be listened to and heard. more

I was just going to LOOK at cars and was NOT ready to buy. My sales person Steve greeted me and very quickly made me feel very comfortable. The no pressure atmosphere and professionalism was very evident during my experience. Buy from the Lake you will not be disappointed. more

Avoid Lake Norman Hyundai! 10/11/2011

I purchased a 2012 Elantra from Lake Norman Hyundai, and I have never encountered a company so obviously contemptuous of their customers. After the sale, obviously. They promised a lot - and took a lot of money - and delivered nothing. They didn't switch our insurance (as promised), didn't order our plates (as promised) and generally gave us lousy service. When Hyundai's online survey came in, I gave them a harsh (but fair) review. Turns out that both the guy who sold us the car *and* the guy who did our financing were fired shortly after we bought the car. Doesn't fill you with confidence, does it? Later, when I went in to find out why they had failed to follow up on my missing plates, the first thing manager Brian said was ""Oh yeah, you're the guy who gave us the lousy score"". After that, he basically refused to help resolve my issues. Nobody expects car salesmen to be honest or honorable, but these people are just the worst. I genuinely could not believe the attitude I encountered. The car is great; the dealer, their management, and their after-sales service is attrocious. I can't praise the car highly enough (40mpg and not a hybrid!), but please - avoid Lake Norman Hyundai at all costs. more

ABSOULETLY WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE!!! 9/22/2011

My salesman Tommy and manger Tony was awesome. They gave me a wonderful price for my trade and also did not try to force me into a vehicle that I was not going to be happy with. They stayed way after closing time on Friday to find me a vehicle that was absouletly happy with. I was wanting a car that was good on gas and one that had all the options like my trade. I wanted heated seats and all the options that my trade in had for a good price that I could afford (current trade-SUV ((gas GUZZLER!!)) ) \r \r I had some issues on my credit due to a divorce a couple years ago so it was hard to find a bank with a decent intrest rate. It took them about a week but found me a bank with a good intrest rate that I could live with. \r \r Ok, yes a week is a long time but if u have any issues with credit it is really hard to get a good intrest rate with the way the economy is at this time. Tony worked extra extra hard to sell me the car that I fell in love with after searching the lot. Alot of the timing was my fault due to not wanting an overly priced intrest rate that would make my payments ski high. Tony did not have to keep trying to find another bank with a better intrest rate to give me but did!!! And this place is very very busy and he still had the time to work with banks and give me calls back! This place is very customer friendly... does not let u go thirsty...always offers water and are very kind on the way they present their cars. They do not make u feel like ur trade is worthless like alot of dealerships do. I would definetly recommend this place to anyone and everyone!! They really treat u like family and that feels good when making a change in ur life with buying a car. Please go and check them out and ask for Tommy to help u with ur next car purchase! more

Looking for a new car, we've been shopping around and noticed an ad for what seemed like a good lease deal at Lake Norman Hyundai. I'm not naive, but thought there could be some semblance of a deal similar to their advertisment. In this day and age, I wasn't prepared for the great "old-fashioned" car dealer game. Back and forth between the dealer and manager, "if you sign today, I can do this", "I stuck up for you with the manager and he agreed to do this", Let me see what I can get", "I'm trying to help you", "I'm not here for the money, just to meet great people like you" (salesman). All the while, all we wanted to know was what was the price for the car with selected options. Finally after his last visit to the manager we got the price which was quite higher than the advertisement. When I got up to leave and told the salesman that he just wasted my time, he actually said "You know this is all just part of the game right?" So if you like playing games and being treated like a dope, go to Lake Norman Hyundai. So many other dealers we shopped at acted so much more professionally and business-like. In this day and age with so much information available, I thought all those car dealer tactics were a thing of the past. I have no problem bargaining, I just do not like being treated like an idiot. more

Lake Norman Hyundai needs to improve customer service skills 5/8/2011

My daughter and I went to Lake Norman Hyundai to look for a car for her 21st. birthday. I asked for the best price for a Sonata that was on the lot. The sales person asked the sales manager. The response was ""When you're serious about buying a car, we'll give you the price."" I felt discriminated against because I was a woman looking for a car with my daughter. I sent my husband in to see if he would have better luck in getting information and he was given a price that he agreed to. The car was due to arrive the next day. After the car arrived, they called and said it was in but that they were mistaken about the price they had quoted and that the car was going to cost $1000 more. My husband and I both felt we were being jerked around. We went 10 miles from home to Hyundai of Concord and purchased the Sonata that same evening and were treated like royalty! We were given the discounts in Concord that Lake Norman said was no longer available. I highly recommend checking out Hyundai of Concord if you want to deal with a friendly staff who honors their quotes. more
