I have had cupcakes and tea when I used to work in the area. I thought it was delicious and the service was great. I just recently ordered 3 dozen mini cupcakes for a baby shower. I had researched and called all the other cupcake boutiques in town and none were very accomodating. Sugarbabies actually ordered a cookie cutter for a decoration for the cupcakes to match the baby shower invitations at no charge to me, they also matched the icing colors perfectly. From day one I felt like I was thier only customer. The cupcakes were adorable, and delicious and moist and they got so many compliments from the shower guest and espeically the mom to be! Way to go Sugarbabies! Your staff is Superlicious! more

We have gone around and tried all the "cupcake" boutiques. This one was again very dissappointing. We were also there on Sat. 3/19. small, dry tastless wrapped cupcakes. Also, very disappointed when the employee put the cupcakes on the counter before packaging them. It appears all the cupcake and custom cake places "claim" all there products are made from scratch? Liar liars pants on fire. Most of them, use pillsbury commerical cake mix! water and oil... Think again when spending this kind of money on an ill prepared cupcake. Frosting is also commerical. Disappointed again. more

We went to this place for the first time this afternoon around 5pm. We arrived before our friends did and ordered 3 cupcakes. The server got the first one out and placed it on the counter without a plate or box! I realize that there is a cupcake wrapper on the bottom but this is still unsanitary and unappetizing. (This has never happened at other bakeries we have been to.) Surprised, I asked the girl if they had a plate or tray to put it on. She put on a bad attitude and rolled her eyes. She then asked if it was for here or to go. It should be common sense to put food on a plate or box without having to think about it. Needless to say, I lost my appetite but I didn't want to disappoint my two kids so I proceeded to stay and give it a try. The cupcakes were disappointing. They were small and dry. At the end of our visit, I left a few seconds before our friends. There was no "thank you" or "bye" although the place was empty and the workers were not doing anything. However, when our friends left a few seconds later, I could see through the door that the server who had served me earlier (a brunette with a pony tail) was smiling and saying "Thank you" and "Bye" to them. She may have been holding a grudge for my asking her to use a plate but I felt singled out. The service was very unfriendly. Needless to say, I will never return and will tell my friends about the terrible service. In addition, the cupcakes were mediocre at best.. more

Thanks for creating another great order of birthday cupcakes for our family. My daughter's pink and purple cupcakes were perfect (as was my son's about a year ago), and everyone enjoyed them. I appreciate the special consideration for making the colors look perfect and for calling to let me know they were ready early. more

I ordered two dozen cupcakes for my daughter birthday. The staff was very unfriendly and not happy that I needed help loading them into my car. The cupcakes were small and average at best, but carry a hefty price tag. You are better off getting cupcakes at the grocery store. Same quality, but only a quarter of the price. more

I went in today to get some cupcakes and I was greeted and helped in a friendly and timely manner. I don't work there either. So spare me the comments about having a stake in the company. As for the cupcakes themselves, well they ain't Crave, but they are still very tasty in their own right. more

This was my first visit to Sugarbaby's after sitting across the street at the Hunan Chinese restaurant and saw people coming in and out of the store. I went there today and they were giving away free red velvet cupcakes to kick off the cupcake show on the food network. As I walked in, there was a table laid out with 2 people standing behind it. Neither of them greeted me. As I picked up the brochures I asked the girl was this store going to compete and she just looked at me and shook her head. After the awkward silence, she finally asked if I wanted to try their red velvet cupcake, I said sure why not. (They had a whole display of them so you would think they would have offered one as soon as I walked in). The girl didn't even ask if I was getting it to go, she just put it on a plate and handed it to me. No one was smiling or greeting people during my visit...so maybe I caught them on a bad day or something. With that being said, I would rather drive ALLLL the way to the Galleria to CRAVE and spend the extra on gas and a bigger & better tasting cupcake than to be ignored in an place of business! It's bad enough the parking sucks, but to get inside and the customer service sucks too? What are the odds.... pssst: I think the people on here that are raving about their good "customer service" must work there. more

I've been coming here a while. I love it here! I went on Tuesday and it was buy 2 get 1 free! I love their va-va-vanilla with strawberry frosting! It was awesome!!! I left it overnight and ate it the next day and the cupcakes were still awesome!!! Every place has their ways of making cupcake and texturally and sweetness wise, I give it two thumbs up! I love cupcakes that are not too sweet! SugarBaby's does that for me!!! People there are really nice too!!! more

Put a crave cupcake (or a homemade one for that matter), and without doubt you won't be able to finish the Subarbaby's one. The last 2 times (I believe in 2nd chances) I went here, my cupcakes were extremely stale. With all the competition in the cupcake world nowadays, you'd think they'd fix this. more

I have been a Sugarbaby's Customer for a while now. I love their cupcakes: always moist and delicious. I love the new cupcake bonbons too - a nice little bite if you don't want a whole cupcake. They create new flavors for the seasons and I have been meaning to try the Pina Colada sometime soon. The decor is great and girly. I take my son here sometimes after school for a little treat or sometimes I just grab one with a cup of coffee for a little solo treat. I love the fact that their cupcakes are MADE FROM SCRATCH AND YOU CAN TASTE IT! (Yes, my body is a temple, but sometimes that temple need s a treat.) I read some of the negative reviews and I can honestly say that I haven't seen anyone behave in a rude or unprofessional manner. But you get what you give and I think that some people think $3 cupcakes come with fawning and flattery. That's not what you're paying for, people! I too have experienced the "ran out of cupcakes" when I've arrived late in the day. But now I have Sugarbaby's number in my phone so I can call ahead to have them hold a few for me! more

After reading all the negative reviews about Sugarbaby's, I was very hesitant about going there to buy cupcakes. I simply refuse to part with my hard earned money and give it to hateful people. I half expected a store full of snobs and egos when I waled in based on prior reviews. I have been there several time now, and I have yet to meet a rude person, staff or customer. Every time i go there I meet a new friend behind the counter. As for "WHERES THE CUPCAKES?!?" ... duh they sold them! When they say to you, "We lose when we run out" is your clue to gt there early...especially on weekends and holidays. Than you for your wonderful store and cupcakes! more

Poor customer service is all I have to say. Cupcakes are not very good either. For a cupcake place you would not expect them to be so UNFRIENDLY, but they are AND RUDE . You will not get what you want or expect at this place. Don't waste your time there when there are plenty other competitors to order from and their prices are the same. One day I read about this cute little bakery and wanted to try them out, it looks so adorable inside... so we drove quite far to find it. Only when we got there, there was a sign on the door 'OUT OF CUPCAKES' . The boutique was still open and there were two or three employees just standing around inside, we didn?t even go in to look at the cupcake merchandise. How can a cupcake boutique be out of cupcakes on a saturday afternoon? If it's the cost then maybe people shouldn't be paid for standing around. Pros: couldn't say Cons: No Cupcakes more

whenever im in that part of town i HAVE to stop by this adorable place. the decor is delightful; they spent alot of time to create their french look and i really appreciate that. each time ive gotten their cupcakes and mini desserts ive been pleased. its not too sweet and its fresh and fluffly when ive gone. def on my fav list for desserts. i enjoy all the different locally owned cupcake places in town: crave cupcake in uptown park and cupcake cafe in sugar land. for the people who prefer buying cheaper cupcakes at costco or a grocery store... are you guys serious? how can you compare some blan white cake flavor to the creative ones these places have? instead of putting your money into some big corporation support the small local business owner. I vowed to find the best cupcakes in Houston and subarbaby's was the first of the 4 I planned to visit. The store was beautiful. Very cute decor and it would be fun to dine there but I ordered 10 cupcakes to go as I had to go somewhere. As a first timer, I expected a little more friendliness from the staff. Usually when we go out and visit overpriced dessert restaurants, the staff are extra friendly, and would be suggesting the bestsellers. I usually take my time in reading the descriptions as I don't like too much fruit in my cupcakes. The staff seemed impatiend and wouldn't say much if wasn't asked. So i just pointed the ones I wanted. For such expensive cupcakes, I expected a more cheerful welcome and service. They put the cupcakes in a box that had no separators. I didn't expect this as most cupcake stores have boxes that had separators so that the cupcakes won't topple over. When I asked for a bag (it was going to be a long walk to the rice village, I am a tourist and didn't have a car), she said she didn't have a bag big enough for the box. So I carried the box for 30mins until we reached iHop and asked for a bag for our leftover. When I came back to my hotel, only 1 of the 10 cupcakes was in its upright position. The cupcakes were good though. The icing was exceptionally delicious (texture and taste) and I found the cake to be moist enough (not dry as other reviewers would say). For the price, it was okay for me. I don't mind paying $25 for 10 cupcakes if they are really good. I would think twice, though, about coming back, because the of the staff. I recently visited Sugarbaby?s to see just what all the talk was about and I must say that Sugarbaby?s is brilliant. The moment I walked in the door I was greeted with smiling faces and great attitudes from the floor staff. It was not hard to see the hard work and great detail that the kitchen staff so ever delicately put into each cupcake. It is however a little hard to look at the beautiful work when you are drooling on yourself. These are truly some of the best cupcakes I have ever eaten. I can?t tell you how nice it is to walk into a place where you feel the staff is glad to see you. I also love that the owner herself does not hesitate to ask you how everything is and if there is anything they could do better; I know because I was the one she asked. The above are just some of the reasons why I am now a faith customer of the Sugarbaby?s RAVE!!! I would highly recommend Sugarbaby?s to any one at any time that is if they are willing to take me when they go!!!!!! more

I am a frequent customer at this place and love the cupcakes. I pick them up for clients and they love them as well. You can't find a better place. The customer service is great and they always have my order done right and on time. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for cupcakes! The pumpkin spice is great for fall! I love Sugarbabys cupcakes however I found them unrealistic with the fact that they will close early at the drop of a dime. When I think back, they've never really been happy to see me coming as the customer service is always less than mediocre. I requested to meet my event planners @ their location and gave Sugarbaby's 24 hours notice. The manager Dana told me to call them just in case they close. My event planners arrived @ 5pm and they were closed!!! It upset me because I told the manager a day before that I was PRE-PAYING for 3-4 dozen and feel that they should have taken my phone number. As a black woman I am upset and will never buy their cupcakes again. I'm not saying they are racist but I feel like if I were white they would have gotten my number and stayed open. I had frequented another well-known dessert place off of Kirby for years. They did have 2 different cakes that I would get slices of sometimes that I really liked. But I was never super impressed with their cupcakes. I kept buying them from time to time wanting to like them, but they just didn't do it for me. Had a strange artificial taste to them. Same with their cookies and bars. I tried Sugarbaby's about a year ago and FELL IN LOVE. They are now my obsession. I am a marketing rep and take treats to clients. I now use Sugarbaby's exclusively for this. I have actually had clients admit to sending me business to get the "thank you treat" from Sugarbaby's that they know I'll bring. They all LOVE this place!! The cupcakes are perfectly moist, ALWAYS. They taste homemade, nothing artificial about them. I hope that NEVER changes. I love everything I have tried, but my personal faves are S'mores, Strawberry, Dippety DooDah, and Black Tie Affair. They also sell Dean and Deluca coffee that I buy by the bag and have not been able to find anywhere else in Houston. Use to have to stock up when I went to Kansas City where they have a store. I read the other reviews and don't know how in the world those people could possibly be talking about the same place! I do not know Bridgette, the owner, personally, but I do know her husband through business and know that they are a wonderful family and VERY kind people with a heart for our community and making this world a better place. Just a tip on parking, I don't even try to park on the street in front of store anymore. I always go to back. It's easier. Now to address the service of the staff. They are usually not "chipper" or real friendly, but they are still certainly polite and professional and I have never been treated rudely. I had my daughters birthday party here in their private cupcake room. It was perfect for a simple party for a two year old. All of our friends loved it too. I think I may have my birthday party here as well. Cupcakes AND champagne. Pros: Well......cupcakes more
