I love their Kung Pao Tofu, though, it is not spicy at all (I like it hot! :) ). Their Studio City Won Ton Soup is the best won ton soup you'll ever have. Delivery is fast, but, be prepared- they do not read delivery instructions. They aren't good with call boxes and you may have to go downstairs to let them in. more

Not the best, not the worst more

Good food, but rude. 10/25/2009

I from time to time order delivery. The food appears to be fresh and tasty and consistent in quality, and I like that I may order brown rice and they always have it. Delivery time is either very fast, very late. They always say that the delivery time is 40 minutes. The order taker is difficult to understand and delivery persons do not speak when addressed. I have had a number of problems with orders being correct, but Do Not Ever Complain, as the order taker will speak very clearly that they will not deliver to you again. Pros: Good selection and they have brown rice Cons: Service poor; management is rude! more

Good food- bad service on delivery 7/12/2009

We ordered with them for several years. Twice, the wrong item arrived. The second time, I called to complain since I had ordered lemon chicken for my granddaughter and lo mein chicken arrived. I spoke to the regular operator and was very polite. She argued with me, never apologizing for the error. The next time we tried to order from Kung Pao, we were told they would no longer deliver to us because we had complained. Pros: good Chinese food Cons: don't ever complain about mistakes in orders more

Terrible Terrible Food 2/9/2009

In short, the food is tasteless and the owners are jerks. This is probably the worst Chinese Food I have ever had, I would rather go to Panda Express. There were food parts stuck to the utensils and the Vegetarian food... tasted like chicken. I would not trust that they really have vegetarian lard free food. The owners are rude, rude, rude! Pros: NOTHING! Cons: EVERYTHING, the food, the service, the owners. more

Average food and high prices 8/27/2008

This place has really blend, average Chinise food. The only time we ever get it is when there is nothing else to eat and we need to get take out. Also, the prices are expensive. For a plate of shrimp fried rice and shrimp chow main, it's $20. more

Lost a customer 5/20/2008

Living in the neighborhood we order from them at least 2-3 times a month and the food is always good-not great, but decent. We spend an average of $50 each time and they know us there as we usually pick it up to go. We had food delivered a few days ago and they forgot a few items. No pancakes for the Moo Shoo and 2 pieces of lettuce for the lettuce cups. The last time we ordered for them we got 3 pieces of lettuce. This time when we called them to tell them, they said they would send the driver back with the pancakes, but that if we wanted more lettuce they were going to charge us. $5 for 4 pieces. OUTRAGEOUS! We explained we order from them all the time, and are loyal, repeat customers and got nothing on the other end but an argumentive insistance that if we wanted more than 2 lettuce cups to go with the ample amount of chicken filling to go with them, we would have to pay for it. Never, ever again. Aside from being rude, they made just a very bad business decision which clearly based on other reviews happens quite a bit. Pros: Pleasant delivery drivers, good lo-mein Cons: Rude phone service more

MEAN, MEAN staff... Worst service EVER! 4/30/2008

The service is HORRIBLE! I ordered for delivery, and the person who took my order took it down wrong! Once I realized that I got the wrong item, they said that they would send me the correct one. They kept telling me to pay the difference though. Why would I do that?! It was a mistake on THEIR end and they kept telling me to pay for the correct item. They also told me to return the wrong food they sent me, which was fine because I didn't order if anyway, but they were adamant that I HAD to send it back with the delivery person. After arguing on the phone for several minutes, they hung up on me, and the delivery guy came, and he kept telling us to pay up. He finally gave us our item. Pros: delivery? Cons: Bad service, bad service, bad service. more

Worst Service 4/26/2008

Okay, I understand you can't expect great service from a Chinese takeout place, but THIS place has the worst service ever! I just called to place a takeout order and the lady was such a b*tch from the moment she picked up the phone. So I made my order, hung up, and then I realized that I called the wrong Kung Pao Bistro.... so I called back (maybe 2 minutes later) and I told her what had happened and asked her to cancel my --- and before I could even finish my sentence she slammed the phone down. What a b*tch!! Cons: BAD SERVICE, Not very clean more

The Kung Pao 3 Way is my new favorite dish (but this last time they were cheap with the sause, making it a very different experience)! The Empire Chicken was disappointing. VERY very nice how the plate isn't loaded with veggies (you have to pay extra for those here) more

Reliable 10/19/2005

I have been going here for years. And though it may not be the best in town, it doesn't disappoint. Not sure why everyone here is complaining about the prices. Last time we went, for an appetizer, three main dishes, and a rice dish, it was maybe $35 with tip. Four people can't even eat at Panda Express for that price. The soups are very good and the meat is always quality. Plus they offer vegan fare (that is fairly tasty). Pros: Price, Selection, Half-Dish more

LOVE THIS PLACE! 8/26/2003

My husband and I frequent the Kung Pao Bistro in Studio City, and it never dissapoints us! Seriously, this place is great...the food is awesome (Kung Pao Shrimp and Chicken w/Black Bean Sauce...YUM!), the service is wonderful, and the prices are reasonable. This is a GREAT CHINESE RESTAURANT! You should check it out! Pros: Great Food, Convenient Location, Casual Atmosphere Cons: Nada Nada Limonada more

Great for veggies 7/31/2003

This is my favorite place to get vegetarian Chinese food. Almost any dish on the menu they can make with ""fake"" chicken, beef, or shrimp.... you just have to know to ask for it!!! My non-veggie friends love the real thing there too...... and the cream-cheese filled wontons are the BEST. Pros: vegetarian friendly Cons: can get pricey more

Great Special! 6/17/2003

There was a lobster special when we tried KPB that was awesome! The place is cute, service good and the food is really beautifully presented. Pricey, but I'd recommend this place to anyone. Pros: Specials, Presentation, Service Cons: Limited parking, A little pricey more
