Krystelle Spa and Salon

This place is a FRAUD! I came here in good faith through their advertisement in the Livermore Cinemas. There is something definitely fishy and dishonest about this place, and I happened to find out when I went in for a "Hollywood" waxing. The one that took care of me was Jolly, who is actually the OWNER of this place, however, in the advertisement, 2 young girls, and a small child were named as the owners. Jolly was also NOT listed as a staff member performing these services. I came to find out why. My waxing session took almost 2 hours! I was lying in the same position, spread eagle and everything, for that long! I had a serious back ache that evening, and had a hard time walking the next day. I mean, it was hard for me to say anything, because she seemed so sweet, and friendly. I was also wondering why she kept going over the same spots with the hot wax, when other places just tweeze the stubborn hair out, or just let me know that at this time, since it's been a while since I've had this service, all the hair isn't going to come out. I have not come back here since, and I will NEVER come back here. Their hours are also inconsistent. When I tried to book for an appointment before I finally got in, I always got their voicemail. I don't like to leave messages. I tried doing a walk-in on a Tuesday afternoon, the place was closed. The only reason why I kept bothering, was their 5 star reviews on Yelp, which seemed to be disappear for some reason. I also left a review on there, which they filtered, so this place is very skeptical. There's also a guy that left a review that became filtered that said he got a massage from Jolly, which screams SHADY, because Jolly isn't even a massage therapist. Also, what kind of a place keeps pushing up on their $65 grand opening special for the past 4 years? Sure, it sounds great that you get a facial and a massage, and a couple of other services, but for something that cheap, you might want to look into it a bit better. Like why is it that something so high-end would offer something so cheap. Most high-end spas don't do coupons or huge discounts that devalues their reputation or quality of service. Was hoping to actually get a massage here too, but after my waxing, NO THANKS. Especially if a hack job like Jolly is posing as a licensed Massage Therapist just so she can make some extra money on the side. Beware! more

Since I moved to the area in March of this year, I've started going to Krystelle. The owner Jolly is very personal, and it's admireable that she is the one that handles the reception to ensure that everything ran smoothly for all my services. The ladies of Krystelle are warm, and friendly, and so is the waiting area which serves a variety of coffee or tea. I usually get a facial, face waxing, and one hour Swedish massages from Beth, and I highly recommend her to everyone! Beth is always anticipating my needs, and always makes sure that I am comfortable, and makes any necessary adjustments if need be when applying pressure. I usually like deep pressure, and she is excellent at it. The only complaint I have is the price of my full face wax which comes up to $60 (eyebrows, upper lip, sideburns, and chin), which they individually charge at $15 per part. I've gone to other high end day spas, and they have usually just charged me no more than $45, and is listed as a package on their price listing. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the location, where there is a sushi restaurant, a nail salon, a sandwich shop, and a coffee shop in the plaza. more

Well, first off, Mitos is now currently Krystelles Spa and Salon. Everyone is always so pleasant when i come in for my monthly appointments. Rosie does my waxing and she is always very efficient and kind. Michelle does my hair, and although i consider myself to be very picky, she is always sure that i leave completely satisfied. I have been a customer for a few months now and i can honestly say i feel very valued; which i think is why i keep on coming back! kudos to Krystelles! Mito Salon has changed its name to Krystelle Spa & Salon. The location, staff and quality of service have remained the same, only the name has changed. more

I've been searching for a hairstylist for a long long time. I was recommend by my friend to try this salon for a very long time, Lisa did a wonderful job with my updo and make-up, Little did I know she's also works for aveda as a make-up artist. She is really a terrific hairtylist and beautiful too. I booked an appointment the following week for a highlights and a haircut and it was the best haircut and highlights i've ever had...I'm so happy i found this place. My friends also went with Michelle and Paula for an updo's and wow we we're impressed..... Pros: price is just right Cons: really worth it more

I was just having a cup of coffee at the place next door and decided it would be fun to get a facial so i walked in. They were able to take me in immediately. Some places say walk-ins welcome, but you have to wait for like an hour, this place is so much better. I got in right away, and my friend only had to wait 15 minutes to get in for a haircut. Her hair looked so great, and my facial felt amazing. The next day my skin was completely clear. Not a blemish in sight. I also got to buy some really good skin care products that were recommended to me and they weren't expense at all. Next time I'm going in for a full day of pampering: massage, facial, haircut, and pedicure. It's going to be heaven. more

It's completely fabulous. All the people are fun and love what they do, and you can tell they want to make sure you get what you want. The receptionist always calls striaght back or a day later if you leave a message, and they're always willing to accomadate with my schedule. They even let me come in to get a much needed haircut when they were suppose to be closing in 15 minutes. It's affordable, it's fun, and it's just a great experiance. Hair coloring done by professionals, facials, massages, waxing, they seriously offer everything, even permenant make-up. Plus they have lots of products at really reasonable products. You walk in, never having to wait more than ten minutes, the receptionist gives you a big smile and offers to get you something to drink, coffee, tea, wine, water, and then you get taken care of by people who really know what they're doing. more

I called several times over several days to inquire about services, and no one ever answered the phone. I left a message which was never followed up by anyone. When I finally got through, the receptionist was rude. I was able to finally make an appointment. ON the day of my appointment, they called 2 hours before and cancelled on me. They were unable to fit me in anywhere thereafter until the following week. I just moved to Livermore and was looking for a salon, needless to say--I found one somewhere else. more

I've been going to Mitos Salon for about 8yrs now. I will not switch to anyone else even if they paid me. I love their service. Everyone is friendly/professional and they all do a great job with hair coloring, rebonding, fixing messed up hair from other/previous stylists, fantastic facials, relaxing massages, and their prices are not bad at all. Their availability is perfect for me, even at last minute, they will take you in..where else would you find a salon like this! more

i love this place because they won't rip you off or take your whole pay check like other salons. and have any of you ever had a good hairstylist that did a good job, but had a fake attitude? the stylists here are pretty nice. they also have a great variety of products to buy! if any of you girls are looking for an updo for prom this is a great place to go! they have hair accessories and jewelry that you could match with your dress as well! more

I did not have an appointment and walked in from my friend's high recommendation. They were WONDERFUL!! The staff and my stylist were very attentive to me!! Although I just got a hair cut, they offer other great services that I am looking forward in trying!! I already booked my next appointment!! Pros: Great Ambience. Beautiful Salon. My husband and I had our first experience at this day spa back in August 2005. This was right before the previous owner sold the business. We had a couple's massage and had such a great experience we went back 6 months later. The spa menu had pretty much stayed the same, however the management and massage therapists had changed. Not thinking it would be any different than the first visit, my husband and I signed up for another couple's massage. The two MTs were unsure how to arrange us in the room (although the rooms has not changed since August) and told us that they felt it would be more comfortable for us if we went into separate rooms. It was also mentioned that it was one of the MPs first day working there and she "wasn't comfortable" working in the room with limited space. So we went into separate rooms and I was relaxing as my massage therapist began to do her work. About 5 minutes into the session I could hear the other massage therapist in the room next door talking to my husband and them holding a conversation. This continued for the remainder of the session. I was unable to relax and thoroughly enjoy my experience, and by the time I was done I was more aggravated and tense than I was when I arrived. When I reunited with my husband he told me his MPs life story. I thought it was highly unprofessional as she was paid for her services, not to gossip. Being that this day spa is fairly close to our home it's probable that we will return however next time we will make sure to request not to have the therapist from before.
