Best service! 12/29/2011

I was referred to King Audio by a cousin. Took my defective Onkyo which was less than a year old (due to some known issues with it). They took it and committed to a day turnaround. I was called in a few hours saying that the problem has been fixed and I was all set. What more can one ask for? more

Amazingly Fast Service! Exceeded All Expectations! 10/11/2011

Reading through the reviews here, I was hesitant to take my Onkyo Receiver into their shop to have it repaired. I decided to try them anyway since I needed the repair done within the next 2 weeks and over the phone they were the only authorized repair Onkyo service center in the area that claimed they could do that. I stopped by their location this morning at 9AM to drop off my receiver to have it repaired. At first the guy stated that it would take about 2 weeks but after I described the problem he decided to have his tech open it up and take a look. He asked that I wait to see if they could fix it right away. After the tech took a look, he was able to confirm the problem, repair it, and confirm the fix in less than 45 minutes! They were very professional and told me that if I have any other issues with my receiver, to just come in again and they will take care of it. Hard to believe that I was there at 9AM to drop off the receiver for repair and by 9:45AM I was driving away with a repaired receiver! Great work! If I ever need a repair again, I won more

King Audio is a JOKE 9/28/2011

I am having them fix a Marantz receiver for me and it has been 2 months and I still do not have it back. They do not return my calls and the guy who answers the phone gives me the run around and different reasons why my amp is not repaired. If there is another Marantz repair shop around I advise strongly to go there!!! more

Great People, Great Service 5/20/2010

I have been doing my own install work on car audio equipment ever since i learned how to do it. Occasionally i would run across an obstacle. There have been three specific times when i have come across an obstacle and needed an answer. 1. the first time i was doing an install on my first car and was trying to put my new deck in but i needed a key to get the old deck out. so i went through the phone book and found king audio. out of all the people we asked king audio was the only place to let us borrow a key for the deck. 2. the second time, i had crashed a car was trying to pull all of my valuables out of it including my deck. once again i called king audio and without hesitation let me borrow some keys for pulling my deck out. 3 the third time i was doing and install in my new car and was putting my deck in my car only to realize that i didnt have the sleeve that goes around my deck to secure it in place. i thought it was a longshot but decided what the hell... went to king audio and told them my issue. not only did they have the sleeve but they had closed an hour before i got there and still sold me the piece i needed. 4 Just recently i was helping my friend install his sound system in his car yesterday as a matter of fact. we had everything we needed except for the keys to pull his old deck out. what a surprise right? this deck was also one of the really big stock decks too which need for special keys to pull it out. So we went down again to king audio and again let us borrow the tools with a $60 dollar collateral. I highly recommend that you experience the service that i have. they are great people with great service. Pros: Always willing to help without any hassle Cons: Have not had any reason for a con sided review. more

Expensive and they didn't fix my Plasma TV 5/19/2010

We have taken our LG Plasma TV into King Audio and Video for repairs on 3 different occasions. After 2 of the 3 repairs were made, the plasma TV failed again within 2 weeks. Despite obviously not fixing the original issue, King did not offer to fix the problem at no cost. They charged us again for the same components they had installed only a few weeks earlier. When the work was done, they don't always call you to let you know that the electronics appliance is ready to be picked up. Cons: Didn't fix the problem, didn't contact me when finished more

Accomodating 5/10/2010

My Onkyo needed a part replaced on the warranty. With a little persuasion, they were willing to order the part without holding on to the the amp until it arrived and requiring a deposit. They trusted that I would return and they wouldn't get stuck with the new part. I was able to bring in the unit and they installed the part while I had lunch. Sure the place is kinda messy, but where else can one store a dozen giant TVs but in the storefront? For Onkyo warranty repair they may be your only choice. Give em a chance. Pros: Willing to adapt to my schedule Cons: A bit disorganized more

We were surprised! 3/4/2010

I was very suspicious after reading the negitive reviews. But left our receiver anyway. They told us two weeks for a turn around....they called us the next day. It works great! Pros: Great turn around time Cons: messy more

Not the place to bring your high end audio/video equipment 1/28/2010

Fast turnaround?????Knowledgeable employees? Ya right not these guys. Took my Pioneer navigation unit to these guys, for a simple pico fuse replacement. When I was there to drop it off the kid at the counter didn't even know what I was talking about when I told him what was wrong with the stereo in the first place. Which should have been my first clue NOT to leave my stereo there. I was told I would get a call on Monday or Tuesday, paid a ridiculous 60.00 dollar deposit and went on my way. Well called wednesday and they hadn't had a chance to look at it. Thursday finally got someone to look at the unit and fix it. They then charged my cc after I instructed them not to do so until the next day, and since I had decided to come pick up the unit I called today before they closed to let them know I didn't need the unit shipped they told me they had already billed my cc for the full amount... WHat listening skills, is it already tomorrow??They then began on a speel about the tax for shipping and local tax for pick up was different and they would have to refund my card and recharge it for the correct amount, but that they would charge a convience fee of 5.00 on the final ticket and would take 5-10 business days for the first transactions refund to get back into my account. They had no right to charge e in the first place, I asked if a simple refund in cash of the difference between the two totals could be given and they went on on aanother speel telling me my states capitol was the one at fault for them not being able to do that... Way to place the blame. I will never bring anything to these guys ever again!!!!!!! No customer service , no loyalty and they don't listen to there customers instructions. Bring it somewhere else, you will be glad you did. Pros: What pros. Cons: bad customer service skills, do not listen to customer more

STAY AWAY! Disorganized, Poor Communcations 11/19/2009

Enter the doors of this establishment at your peril! You'll be greeted by haphazard stacks of dust collecting expensive AV receivers, TV's and misc electronics presumably in for repair. Take a sight line down the hall to view one of the messy work benches. It's clear that electronics manufacturers haven't conducted a site visits to this independent repair facilities. This place is a dump. Took my AVR in for warranty repairs. Called weekly for status as the shop would indicate that they would be diagnosing the problem ""soon so call next week."" Now it's over one month with no official status so I finally pick up the unit. The faceplate is badly scratched from mishandling. The owner offers no explanation or apology. The unit is going back directly to the manufacturer, to whom I have registered concerns about the business practices of King's. Cons: Bad Service more

Great local electronics service!! 5/16/2008

We use King A/V service as part of our Home Theater Installation company. They perform in home service for us and we have never had a single complaint. There is a reason they are the company that the manufacturers send you to. They have extensive training and have not let us down or treated us or a customer unfairly. We are based in Redmond as well and have had to deliver a set for repair after hours and were able to set up an appointment to meet a tech after their typical closing time. I do suggest using King A/V, call them and you will recieve prompt service and they may even walk you through the problem better than a factory tech support person. (They are in America after all and can speak to you on the phone with no problems) Pros: on the East Side, Factory Certified by many manufacturers Cons: Smaller shop, nat great curb appeal more

Great service without a cost! 4/10/2008

I had some trouble with my Hitachi plasma TV and was referred to King by Hitachi corporate - they answered the phone promptly and asked a few questions regarding the problem and they immediately suggested trying a power switch that would otherwise be unknown to me. They waited a few minutes while I tried what they suggested and to my surprise an delight it worked! When I came back to the telephone they said they were glad they could help...thank you King for helping me without charging me a cent! more

Exceptionally rude & overpriced 2/24/2007

I took my Explorer radio in to this shop to get an estimate for repair. The next day I was quoted $175 to fix a radio that I had already paid $45.00 to have diagnosed. When I called for the estimate the employee answering was exceptionally rude and impatient upon answering the phone. (I couldn't find my claim check at the moment). I told him that $225 to repair a radio that was not getting the audio portion was too much and said that I would pick it up. When I got there I had to wait 10 minutes at the counter before anyone would respond from the back of the shop. (They have CCTV and a buzzer on the door). When someone finally came to the counter they began to tell another customer that they couldn't explain why the TV that she had brought in wouldn't work after they had repaired it. Another repairman finally brought my radio out and asked me to sign the work order for release. When I asked where to sign he said very curtly ""anywhere"". I signed the order, took my copy and left. The work order stated that the radio had been""cosmetically"" serviced. (They wiped the top of it off) When I got home I took the face plate off after noticing that it appeared to never have been removed for inspection. Paying $45+tax to have the radio removed (a simple 2 minute job), having it wiped off and returned with no written diagnosis of the problem is a gross ripoff ! These people have an attitude for ""take it or leave it"" and rudeness more than any other business I have ever dealt with. I will never go back to that place and don't recommend it for anyone else. more

Kind service! 12/11/2006

I called King Audio/Video Service to get an opinion on a unit that is currently being repaired elsewhere in Seattle. I have been looking for another repair place because of delayed service at the Seattle shop. The owner at King was very kind in helping me understand the potential problems with my unit and even made a call to the Seattle shop on my behalf where one of his former employee now works. Based on my first interaction with King Audio/Video, I would entrust future repair jobs with them. more

Terrible service 6/30/2006

I had my receiver in on two separate occasions for a total of 4 months in the repair shop. King Audio and Video sat on my unit for a month and a half before shipping it to a regional service center. The first time I got my unit back from service, the front of the receiver and the remote was scratched and chewed-up and had to be replaced.\r \r I do not recommend this shop as they do not call with status updates and no one seemed to know what the status of my repair was whenever I called to check. Cons: Slow, bad service more
