Thank you for your hospitality 12/1/2016

As a nursing Student, the experiences that the hospital and the nurses provided were extraordinary. Patient care is the number one thing that matters to the nurses and all the staff at the hospital. Learning from these nurses and gaining more knowledge will help me in the future when I must begin the journey of becoming the best nurse I can be. Thank you Kindred for your hospitality and the opportunity to learn. more

Very caring 11/30/2016

Everyone here is absolutely wonderful. Very caring and quick to respond to calls. They treat you like your family. And the food is delicious. Not like other tasteless facility food. Highly recommend Kindred if you have a choice of where to go. more

They are the best hospital around here. They gave my husband excellent care they truly do care about each patient. He was in the SCU (special care unit) There was a male nurse named Richard and he would call me ever y morning and every evening to let me know if he had a good day or night even with me going out there every day .A great place to be a patient. more

Happy Thanksgiving 11/30/2016

I am very happy with the care I've received while here. I was able to have the most wonderful and delicious Thanksgiving meal with my family on Thanksfiving day. We are very appreciative to the staff for making our Holiday special despite being in the hospital. It is one we will not forget. The night shift is great. They have a great team of nurses. more

Overall they were all nice and cordial 9/21/2016

I think the hospital is understaffed and the people that are working are frustrated but they mean well. Sometimes there was not enough help. This is why I had my own caretaker here with me. Overall they were all nice and cordial but sometimes their expressions were frustration. The first time I was here after being diagnosed with diabetes the staff was better. It seemed like they were better staffed. But overall my stay was good. Some of my favorite nurses were Geronimo, Felipe, Sandra, Priscilla and several others. They were all nice. I would come back to Kindred Hospital if I needed to. But please get more help. more

Our 1sr Choice 8/18/2016

July 1st my brother was admitted to I.C.U. in Arlington. He came from a burn unit,in a coma, crushed arm,on a ventilator and lot of other issues. From the moment we arrived he received the best care from excellent and professional doctors that we see everyday. We can't even say enough about the nursing staff that is so unbelievable. From the head nurse Richard Riddle, Mr G, Joan, and all the I.C.u. family. We never worry about Tracy when we are not present which is a great comfort to my sister and I. We see the care, kindness and compassion that they show not only to Tracy and us but to other patients and their families. The hospital staff from Administrators ,to all workers , every office you walk past say good morning, how is your loved one, how are you?, they all show comfort and care. These people all give you Hope in a hopeless situation... If needed in the future Kindred in Arlington would be our 1st choice... more

My home away from home 8/3/2016

I've been at Kindred Arlington many times over the past ten years. Every time I need to go to a long term facility I aways ask to come here. They provide the best care in all of the health care system. They have nice nurses, hard working aides and a great Rehab department. They also have a truthful and good nutritionist. I have lost almost 200 lbs in the past few years! I contribute my success a lot to the education I've received here at Kindred. The dietitian is wonderful. When I first came here one of the nurses told me I was in such bad shape because of my weight. He motivated me and gave me spiritual guidance. He gave me a personal example of his own life that really affected me. I will never forget his kindness. He told me that he had been overweight too. And his life was so much better once he lost weight. It was due to his testimony, the doctors and nutritionist honesty that encouraged me to change my life. They are the reason I'm still alive today. I have some hills to climb, but I'm going to make it. I like the doctors here. They really listen and work with you on getting well. They give more than just two seconds of their time. They know me and respect me. I also enjoy the compassion shown by nurses, therapists, administration and the chaplain that comes to visit. I always have someone to talk to here. You can get a chaplain at any time. And administration comes to visit me often. They are all like family and have gotten me thru some difficult times. Most hospitals will not go to that extent for their patients. In the health care system, there are big problems in administration. You need to be somewhere with good administration and social workers. Kindred Arlington is that place. That is why I always insist on coming here. The people in administration get involved because they care. You can tell they care about their patients. My sister always calls Amanda directly when I need long term care. I give glory to God that I am always welcome here! more

Likely saved my life and gave me hope 12/9/2015

I have been through Kindred 2 times since 05/09. The first was when I was diagnosed with COPD in 2009 and the last was early in 2015 after a hospitalization for pneumonia. The first time I didn’t know anything at all about COPD. By the time I graduated, I knew so much about the importance of exercise, keeping equipment clean, oxygen therapy, avoiding things that would cause trouble breathing, etc. I went through the usual anger at myself for doing things that had caused this situation but was continually encouraged to let that go, focus on the future, and do the things necessary to stay as healthy as possible. The 2nd time I went through I felt so bad I wasn’t sure I could ever recover. It was so hard to do anything but with persistence and encouragement from the respiratory therapists I am again able to do most things for myself. I cannot imagine a Pulmonary Rehab program anywhere that would be any better than the one a Kindred. I also can’t separate the Kindred rehab program from Kim Trahan, the Respiratory Therapist. They are kind of like one entity. I don’t believe one would work without the other. Better Breather’s Club-I have attended the Better Breather’s Club which meets at the Kindred Pulmonary Rehab building on Cooper Street in Arlington since 2009. I try to never miss a meeting because 1. I love the people. It is wonderful to have a place to meet with others who have the same or similar health situations. 2. There is usually a speaker who discusses topics which help us live better, healthier lives. If there is not a speaker, Kim Trahan, the Respiratory Therapist, discusses topics varying from new developments to reminders about things we need to do to stay well. A lot of times the members share information they have discovered that helps some of us. 3. The pot luck lunch for the 1st hour of the meeting. Friendships are formed that last for years out of the Pulmonary Rehab program and the Better Breather’s Club meetings. Anyone with a lung disorder is welcome. more
