Kindred Hospital Ocala

I got good care at Kindred. I have been a lot of places for being sick and for rehab and I like this place a lot. They even fixed me when my breathing got really bad. Now I am going to a rehab before going home and I just hope they are as nice and good as everyone here. more

My sister was at this hospital a month or so ago and they were a sweet blessing to us. They worked so hard to keep her safe and get her well. I wanted to return to leave a review because even after a month or so and going through rehab, we are still feeling so blessed to have been at this hospital. My sister is now home and living with 24 hour care and her quality of life is much better. This place is stall a bright spot to us! Thank you for your care! more

I was blessed so many times at this hospital. I was at this hospital a while, almost two months if I remember right. The staff were very sweet and treated me like family. They worked hard to make sure I was comfortable including in bed and out of bed in the chair. They answered my call-light, spoke with my family, and made us all smile. I was able to go to Chicago where I can be with my family, and kindred even helped to arrange that. I feel blessed and I wanted to share that with their staff so I sent them cupcakes. Bless this place, bless these people's hearts that work here. I thank them so much for all they did with my wife. They made her last few weeks the best I could ask for. It is still so hard to process for me, I think it feels a little more real that she is not here with me everyday. But the people at this hospital treated her so nice. I have been pleasantly surprised with my stay here at Kindred in Ocala. Just like any place, there are people that do not seem to care as much as the others. But honestly, there are so many good and kind people here at this hospital. I have enjoyed very good, kind and empathetic staff members including Maurice, Loma, Marianne, Lisa, Paulette, Katie, And Yoly. I am hoping to finish up my stay here soon, move on to a rehab facility so I can go home! more

This hospital fulfilled my needs and offered wonderful people to handle my care. The physical and occupational therapy services were wonderful, personable, and compassionate. The nurses were on-the-spot and knew just what I needed. My family visited daily and were also impressed with the care. I am so happy i came here, because now, I get to go home to my husband, two dogs, and my family. Pam more

On February 21st I was transferred down to Kindred Hospital. I had never heard of it and I had a lot of reservation. I have had exceptional care. The nurses, doctors, and other staff have been outstanding. All departments were trained well. The OT, Katie, the plant manager, Joe, all the techs including Lala. Maurice, Pierre, and Michelle, the nurses including Valerie, Jeanette, and Iris, and the respiratory guys including Carlos, were excellent. I know there are names I missed, but truly, everyone was nice, respectful, and trained well. This is a very tuff floor to work. But they all do it with so much care and so much love. I have no complaints about my care here at Kindred in Ocala. Everyone has been very nice, the treatment is very good, and I have made some good friends here. I hope I make good friends and have the comfort I have had here in rehab place too. Richard more

It's true, my stay and my care here has been beautiful. I was so scared when I came here because I had been going from hospital to hospital for months and I never knew what to expect, if I was going to get bumped to another hospital, if I would ever get home, or if I would ever get better. Since getting here, my wound on my foot has healed, I am walking, I feel better, and I actually got to go outside today and see the sunshine. Michelle is my favorite CNA and I enjoy the therapy sessions with Katie because not only do these girls help me have what I need they make me feel better. I am overseeing the care of my sister whom had a fall and became very ill. In the beginning the difficult part was the transition from the other hospital. But once the people at Kindred helped me understand the care they provide, I was so much better. There were so many people that were kind, compassionate, and went the extra mile. It was that kind of care all the time with the nurse supervisor, nurses, nursing assistants, therapists, and even the administrator. People like Lala, Michelle, Iris, Lorna, Katie, Cindy, and Merlene always tried so hard to help my sister get better, to educate me and our family and to make sure we felt secure in her care. These people were truly the bright spots in our day. Today we are transitioning to rehab and I do hope she does well. But I know in my heart that she got great care here at Kindred Hospital was exactly what she needed. more

I had a left collapsed lung with pneumonia. A very kind nurse told me about a rehab unit on the fifth floor in the old section of the hospital. The unit sounded too good to be true and to be exactly what I needed. In march 2016 I went from heavy chest pain with pneumonia and had to be on a ventilator for a week. Then I had to be placed on a tracheostomy. This day began my journey to meeting a wonderful team of doctors, nurses, and CNAs like no other. Stopping now to tell everyone that the doctors were great would be an understatement. Each one of them took their time to answer all questions and explain things from medicines right down to what each one would do to help save my life.Each person is kind and caring in their own way. No question was ever pushed aside as stupid. Nurses work 12 hour shifts are are so responsive to my needs. They all seemed to care about all the patients there. Really most amazing were the CNA's. These gals took care of me as if I were their fairy godmother. Never rushed, all took their time to do what was asked. No matter how minimal they would all work things out to accommodate all. If you did not feel up to bathe in early morning, they would bathe you from 7:30am up until 6pm before shift change. Some days there would be one CNA for a whole unit, but they kept a great attitude. I know it is wrong to choose favorites, but I couldn't help it. Michelle and LaLa were my two angels. The statement was made one day which will stay with me forever. "We may not be a 5 star hospital unit with all fancy bed and furnishings but our patients without loving, caring attention." We certainly cannot forget PT and OT gals, Cindy & Katie. They are great if you are having a bad day and great for listening too. Sometimes people need a very special medicine to listen and not give advice--just open their hearts and ears--just be there. All the services at Kindred hospital in Ocala has been very good. Katie and Cindy in rehab have been superb because they treat me very good and work hard to get me stronger. The physicians, nurses, and techs have also been great. Everyone here has made me feel comfortable with my care here and they show a good deal of insight to my needs. I would recommend this hospital to any friend that needs care like I have. Robin B more

I had a wonderful experience with receiving care here at Kindred Hospital Ocala. I spent nearly 6 months in a rehab where I struggled to make progress. While I was at that rehab they told me I was going to need long-term care in a facility. When I got to Kindred Ocala they completely turned that around in 30 days! I am now off the vent, much healthier, walking, bathing, dressing, and working on gaining my strength! My therapists say that with a short stay in an aggressive rehab I should be home living with my son! My therapists were the best! So, so thankful! I thank all the staff at Kindred Hospital Ocala. Because of you all I have my quality of life back! Thank you! more
