A MIRACLE WORKER! 2/16/2012

I have been a patient of Dr. Kim's for over 6 years now and I can honestly say that she saved my life! I could not work because I had 3 herniated discs in my lower back and nothing was relieving the pain so a co-worker recommended that I try acupuncture. After just a few visits I could tell that acupuncture was going to work for me. Not only have I returned to work without pain but I am also 50 pounds lighter and in the best shape of my life! I have recommended Dr. Tsao to several of my co-workers and friends and none of them have been disappointed! more

Relieved Peri-menopausal Symptons 7/11/2009

My entire life I had painful periods and have tried various treatments to keep them under control. Finally, I had to take Vicodin to control the pain. I am now going through peri-menopause and my periods, are get heavier, irregular and more painful. One recent period almost landed me in the ER. The pain was so intense even the painkillers weren’t enough. I couldn’t function with more pain and less predictability and hold down a full time job. That is when I decided to see Dr. Tsao.\r \r I started receiving acupuncture 3x a week and eventually tapered off to once a week. Over this time she regulated my periods and I also take almost no pain medicine now. In addition, my other peri-menopausal symptoms are under control: acne, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, hot flashes… I feel like a new person! Dr Tsao said her goal was to keep my periods coming, which will keep my hormone levels even and the other symptoms will ease.. Now, when I get my period Dr. Tsao and I cheer! Her treatments have made this time of severe change bearable. \r Cons: only NYC office hours are M, W, F more

Dr. Tsao is AMAZING! 1/6/2008

I highly recommend Dr. Tsao! I recently had to have 2 wisdom teeth removed and my doctor prescribed me Vicodin for pain. I was very hesitant to take Vicodin because I had heard of people getting addicted to it. After I informed Dr. Tsao that I was going to get my wisdom teeth removed, she suggested that I come to her office immediately after the procedure. After the procedure I felt the local anesthetic wearing off and I rushed to my acupuncture appointment with Dr. Tsao and after the session I had NO PAIN! I was very shocked and relieved at the same time because I really did not want to take the Vicodin. The following week I only had a little soreness in my jaw, but there was no pain whatsoever. Dr. Tsao is the best! Thanks again! Pros: Dr. Tsao is a wonderful doctor and person! She truly makes you feel comfortable during the treatment more

Kim the Therapist! 6/7/2007

Last year I had experienced a pinched nerve which was one of the worst experiences I have ever had, which also includes a back spasm with sciatica complication. After calling around a few places I came across Kim who knew what was going on, including how tall I am that a disc is bulging in my neck etc. This is information that I had off my MRI. Needless to say after seeing Kim for a few weeks I improved considerably and didn't have to take some heavy duty medication to find relief. I still see her since my job is very stressful and this is even better than seeing my massage therapist! more

My friend saved me from an operation! 6/2/2007

I had disks in my lower back that were out of alignment ? I had had 2 herniated disks almost 20 years ago, and chronic mild back problems since. I had been seeing an orthopaedic surgeon because of a recent flare-up, when I really twisted my back somehow. I was out of work for a couple of days, barely able to walk. I visited the surgeon, who of course recommended surgery. Because of the pain, and the inability to move, I was ready to go ahead with it. Why not? Just replace the disks with anything, as long as it would get rid of the pain.\r \r Then, on a recommendation from a friend, I visited Dr. Tsao. She had helped him recover from elbow surgery, and he thought she could help me at least get mobility back. I figured I would give it a try, what did I have to lose? I could always have the surgery if I needed it.\r \r At the first visit, Dr. Tsao said, ?I can help you. I can get your back into alignment, you won?t need surgery.? I wasn?t sure, but she had helped my friend, so I tried it. I was barely able to walk to the exam room, I had trouble laying down on the table.\r The first treatment was painful ? my muscles didn?t want to relax. But afterward, so much tension was gone, I felt so much better, just getting my upper and middle back to relax. I was excited to go back.\r \r So, after about 6 weeks, I was able to reduce the number of visits. I was walking easily again. After 8 weeks, I was walking to work every day, and I was able to dance at my friends wedding, the first of many that summer. Now I just go in for checkups. My back muscles are getting stronger and I?m able to do just about everything ? work outside in the garden, tear down walls in our new house, even help my rugby team practice!\r \r Dr. Tsao has an excellent technique, is very friendly, helpful, even fun to talk to! I highly recommend her to everyone!\r \r Will Geisler more

The Talmud says, ""he who saves one life saves the world entire."" 4/28/2007

I would highly recommend Dr. Kim, who has been practicing acupuncture and alternative medicine for over 20 years, to anyone seeking a talented and friendly acupuncturist. Her abiltiies were handed down from generations of ancient familial acupuncture practice and toned to perfection by years of quality schooling. Other than sucessfully treating and preventing various health issues, she has kindly taught many patients how to understand their sicknesses as well as to mentally and psychologically cope with their problems. \r I am one outstanding example of her success. I couldn't walk and had an operation scheduled until I decided to see Dr. Kim. After she treated me for only three months, I was miraculously able to walk again. Life is worth living again! I can spend time with my grandchildren and family and friends. I appreciate all that she has done for me and all her patients. I, like many countless others before, have been touched by her passion to improve the quality of lives around her. Pros: location has easy access from penn station, two locations! Great Neck, LI and NYC Cons: she's only one person...... more
