Review content:
My entire life I had painful periods and have tried various treatments to keep them under control. Finally, I had to take Vicodin to control the pain. I am now going through peri-menopause and my periods, are get heavier, irregular and more painful. One recent period almost landed me in the ER. The pain was so intense even the painkillers weren’t enough. I couldn’t function with more pain and less predictability and hold down a full time job. That is when I decided to see Dr. Tsao.\r
\r
I started receiving acupuncture 3x a week and eventually tapered off to once a week. Over this time she regulated my periods and I also take almost no pain medicine now. In addition, my other peri-menopausal symptoms are under control: acne, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, hot flashes… I feel like a new person! Dr Tsao said her goal was to keep my periods coming, which will keep my hormone levels even and the other symptoms will ease.. Now, when I get my period Dr. Tsao and I cheer! Her treatments have made this time of severe change bearable. \r
Cons: only NYC office hours are M, W, F
