Great Job!! 2/8/2008

I have taken my two kids to this salon since my son was under a year old. I have had nothing but great experiences with the staff. It is all in how you approach any situation. I have had almost every person cut the kids hair . Sometimes the hair stylist and I get chatty and sometimes not so much. Which is fine with me. I don't need to be entertained. This is my time to relax too! Sometimes if I want to talk ,we will talk Sometimes I don't. It depends on whats going on. They really follow by what my body language is telling them. They do a fantastic Job. I have never had any problems with a haircut before. The atmosphere is kid friendly, each child gets to pick a chair to sit in that is either a car or train or something They can play a video game as they are getting a hair cut. They are so accommodating while trying to cut each child's hair. Every child is different and every child will act in a different way. Some cry the first few times they are getting a hair cut and the hair stylists do such a nice job calming them down and bearing through the tears. My children thankfully have grown out of the tears and Ms Melinda has been with them since day one. I have to say that this salon is one in a million. I always get compliments on my kids haircuts! Great Job! more

A Kid Thing in Remond: Terrible Service 9/23/2007

I have taken my son to a kid thing for almost all of his haircuts, and I will never go there again after our last experience. From the moment I walked in I felt unwelcome by all staff members, including the owner, Melinda. Our stylist, Abby, said no more than two or three words to me or my son. She was very rough and left welts on his forehead and didn't even brush off the hair from his neck and face when she was finished. On top of all of this, we had a fifteen minute wait, even though we had scheduled an appointment ahead of time. "A Kid Thing" will never receive our business or referrals again. more

I love this place! 8/1/2007

Wow! I am so surprised to hear that someone has had an experience that was less then stellar. I have nothing but the utmost respect for Melinda and her staff. She is respectful, professional and above everything else - she is fantastic with my child. They all give great cuts, and love to be with kids. That's part of the charm and uniqueness of her salon. When I bring my child in, they treat her as if they are talking to their own child. I get to sit back, relax and enjoy the moments of peace. I am sorry if someone had a bad experience, but my guess is that by the tone of that review that this person wouldnt be happy anywhere they went. more

unprofessional staff 6/25/2007

One staff member "Melinda" was so rude to me and several other families while I was there. She told an Indian family that they wanted her daughters hair cut like a "boy", she had her son there who was fighting with children in the waiting room, and was rude when I asked for my daughters hair to be cut a little shorter than I had originally said. I was shocked by how unprofessional it was. Kids were crying, there was hair all over the ground in the play area. Unfortunately I went with high expectations after reading the good reviews and it was a horrible experience. For a $21 kids cut I expected more than a car they could sit in. I expected staff that were good with kids and professional and courteous. I was disappointed. more

It's a Kid Thing! 8/16/2006

This was a WONDERFUL find! Not only were my kids kept occupied during each other's haircut...but the staff made each child feel special with a token for a "free toy" from their vending toy machine. If you want your kids to look and feel like a prince or princess...this is the place to go! more

It's a Kid Thing 7/26/2005

Formerly known as Kids Cuts 'n' Play, It's a Kid Thing on Redmond Town Center's upper level is one of the best kept secrets that every Eastside parent should know. Not only is it a kid-friendly salon (complete with goofy chairs and themed toy bins), it also provides drop-off child care (with or without a haircut). Just think of it, drop your kids someplace where they can be safe AND have fun, and you can go shopping or just grab a latte - alone. They also host special events like parties, parents' nights out, etc. more
