This is true five star service! And while not cheap, it was not nearly as expensive as i thought it would be. The food is absolutely fantastic. I will go back again and again!

Horrible! 7/29/2010

I took my boyfriend to Restaurant Kevin Taylor for his birthday. I dropped 150$ for food that was good, but certainly not excellent by any means. The wait staff was extremely inattentive. We waited at the door several minutes before being spoken to or seated for our reservation. I had to ask several times for even my water to be refilled. All of this I could have handled even for the money if it weren't for the fact that not 10 minutes after walking out of the restaurant my boyfriend and I both got extremely sick. We ordered different entrees and appetizers. We couldn't even make it home without having to stop. I paid 150$ to ruin our evening. I would never recommend this restaurant. Pros: Quiet atmosphere Cons: Overpriced for the quality of food more

Good Food....Not worth it 1/13/2010

The menu was quite selective. While the food was great, i felt like it was not worth the money. If you had to do a bang for buck comparison with fast food, it would be like spending $9 at Arby's on a combo. The wait staff were attentive but almost too attentive. The dining room looked like something on a 1960's movie. If you want food with a professional culinary touch then come here, but if you are looking for an experience then look elsewhere. Pros: Great food, flavor, and portion Cons: Atmosphere, $$$$, and selection more

Best Food in Denver, But... 5/28/2009

Decided to take my girlfriend to KT's for her birthday. They called me ahead of time to confirm the reservation and ask if there were any special occasions. I notified the restaurant that it was my girlfriend's birthday and they said there would be a surprise complementary desert. I thought that would be perfect and expected the best in service. My girlfriend never received any recognition for her birthday after dining nor any complimentary desert. There was a lot of extras for other parties for engagements and anniversaries that night. We just got the check for a lot of $$$$. They forgot. Despite how good the food was the experience sucked. I emailed them after the fact and never received a reply. The atmosphere is extremely stuffy and distant. Definitly not an intmante, romantic restaurant. I felt like I was a mile from my girlfriend at the table. She joked that the feeling was that we were on a high school date for how awkward the table and the service was. I felt the same. My advice is to avoid restaurant KT's unless you are a die hard foodie. There are so may other places in Denver with good food for less $, with so much better service and atmosphere. Pros: Food Cons: Service and Atmosphere more

Restaurant Kevin Taylor will drop to a 2 Star Mobil Restaurant in the next review 2/15/2009

I have dined in the finest restaurants in the world, not to brag, but to indicate I have the knowledge to speak intelligently about fine dining. Pros: Dessert Cons: Value, Service, Food more

Left Hungry and Disappointed By Food and Service 4/10/2008

We've heard some great things about the food and the service at the Restaurant Kevin Taylor (Teatro Hotel). My husband and I decided to have Saturday night date there. I was first disappointed by the lack of ambience and atmosphere at the restaurant. The room is awkward, simple furniture, lack of decorations and style. There were some empty tables with no settings, just plain white table cloths. The waiters were courteous but not friendly. They seemed depressed and not happy at all. When the food arrived I was surprised by the tiny portions. We ordered the hot chocolate cake for dessert, it was really good, but then again, I love chocolate. Overall, we spend too much money to walk out feeling hungry, unsatisfied and disappointed. If you are looking for a fancy ambience and some old fashioned style try something else ? like the Palace Arms at the Brown Palace. Their Kobe steak is impeccable and the chocolate torte is to die for. Pros: Well known name, DT location, close to the art complex Cons: Lack of style or ambience, tiny food portions, unfriendly service, average food, no value more

What happened to customer service? 10/2/2007

My husband and I excitedly made reservations at Kevin Taylor for our first anniversary. We were seated promptly and introduced to out waitress who reviewed the menus with us after a short wait. The host was wonderful and attentive, helped us choose an excellent bottle of wine to pair with our meal. The glass of wine I ordered wih my appetizer was poured promptly while my husband's beer took another 15 minutes. Appetizers were delicious. The waitress forgot what I had ordered and came back to ask, and even after that I was almost served the incorrect soup. Our meals were great, we really enjoyed the food presentation and flavors, but the service at this pricey restaurant could stand to improve. Pros: Great food Cons: Poor service more

Simply the Best 8/12/2007

My husband and I went to Kevin Taylor for our first anniversary. To put it simply this place was the best! Pros: Everthing!! Cons: None! more

No Ka Oi 3/5/2007

As they say in Maui- there can only be one way to describe it- simply the best. This is a white linen table cloth, mind your table manners and indulge your palate kind of restaurant- so if you don't enjoy fine dining in a fine dining environment, don't go. On the flip side, for an important occasion this is the sure bet. The service is impeccable, the food is sublime and the ambience is sophisticated. The lobster bisque is obscene and it will take much restraint to not lick the bowl... The beef and lamb dishes were both beautiful upon presentation- and even better on the palate! The chocolate souffle dessert was nice, but it was the new dessert - root beer parfait that had us giggle happy- it was over the top delicious. Your whole evening at Kevin Taylor is an experience in sophistication, both in cuisine and ambience- bravo! Pros: Everything is perfection more

the best in denver 8/19/2006

Love this place for the perfectly prepared food and the elegant atmosphere. This food is by far the best I have had in Denver. Highly recommended for a special occasion or just a nice night out on the town. Pros: flawless food Cons: expensive but WORTH IT! more

Fantastic! 6/4/2006

We had dinner at Restaurant Kevin Taylor a few nights ago. We were a bit early for our 8:30 reservations, but they were able to seat us right away. The service was wonderful; our waitor was attentive and personable. The food was amazing! It was a $200 meal, but you will get exactly what you expect from a $200 meal: wonderful food and great service. This will be our new celebration restaurant. We already have plans to go back a week after our wedding for our own private celebration. Pros: Wonderful Food!, Great Service, Good Wines Cons: Expensive more

Slow and very expensive but tasty! 2/28/2006

It took 10 minutes just to get our menus, 30 minutes from the time I was seated until I had a glass of wine(!!!!!) and 2.5 hours for the total meal. The waiter, while friendly and knowledgable, would disappear for 15 minutes at a time. I was also not overly impressed with the decor. It felt like I was in a hotel restaurant rather than one of Denver's finest restaurants. However, the food was excellent. The portions were small as one must expect from a restaurant this pricey, but everything was exploding with flavors. Squid ink raviolis were incredible and the pork tenderloin with macaroni and cheese was delicious. Everything we had was really excellent but small. I would recommend the restaurant only if you have a lot of patience and if someone else is buying. Pros: delicious food, great wines Cons: Very slow, extremely pricey more

Amazing Combinations of Flavors 2/28/2006

Restaurant Kevin Taylor serves menu items with many different accents and sauces to make each meal incredibly unique. Even a simple sushi plate is loaded with flavor due to the three sauces surrounding it. I found the food to be incredibly complex and full of character. While it can be a bit pricey, it is well worth it because the food, service and overall experience is euphoric! Pros: Menu, Atmosphere, Service Cons: Price more

amazingly fabulous! 10/29/2005

the service, the food, everything was great. went there to celebrate a 40-th birthday and it definitely made it special. had the $45 prix fixe menu and the selections were great. gave you lots of different choices at a great price. the sirloin melted in your mouth and the dessert was amazing. and on top of the food was the service. we were promptly seated and had a great staff wait on us. nothing bad to say at all. a great experience all around! Pros: the wine list, service, food! more

High caliber in the cow town 9/10/2003

Easily one of the finest restaurant in the Front Range. While some of the portions are small the are of the finest quality, i.e. the foie gras. Extrememly articulate and well versed wait staff, though things can go a bit awry for the pre theater menu. The classics are beautifully done, as in the caviar presentation, and the avant guard a delicately balanced chilean sea bass, euasian style nage with a micro julienne of scallions and sweet peppers. Desserts are sublime with a whimsical flair in the presentation. An all around winner, far better than the highly rated mediocority so common in this city. Pros: FOOD, quality ambience, stellar service Cons: none, none, none more

Disappointing! 7/8/2003

Food took FOREVER start to finish, almost three hours. An hour wait between apps., and main course. Had to skip dessert in order to make show at the Buell. Ordered wine 3 (3!!) times in order to get a bottle in stock! Food was nothing more than OK...Would not go back again. Pros: location Cons: SLOW service!, Food more

Dining at it's finest 2/21/2003

Excellent food, excellent service. Probably the best dining experience in terms of quality, service, and ambience. Sit back and enjoy yourself, take your time, and relish all Kevin Taylor's has to offer. Be prepared to lay down a minimum of $200.00, but the money is well worth it. more

best restaurant 7/27/2002

It offers the best in contemporary american food in denver prepared by a chef that is undoubtedly the most knowledgeable and talented that Denver can offer. The wine list is incredible, as well as the knowledgeable staff. more

Very Good 5/21/2002

Restauant KT is definitely an experience - but don't expect to walk out with a bill less than $75/person. Very good place to go for those special occasions. The menu was thoughtful the wine list is one of the best in town and my date and I even got a free teaser/tester of pastries for dessert. Service is impeccable -- the wait staff is extremely attentive. Pros: impeccable service more
