Signed up with Kerivan Lane for their low oil prices...big mistake. Our burner started leaking oil, KL promptly came only to tell us that our 11 year old burner was "dead". They quickly went back to their office and emailed us a quote for $7K to replace. We called another company willing to do it for $5K. The new company came out and informed us our burner needed to be cleaned. Had a certified oil technician come to the house the next day and for $450 he cleaned our system and it is now working perfectly. After several phone calls, emails and finally a letter we received a call from the owner. Now he claims he told us cleaning was an option. They are unethical and outright liars. I would not recommend this company to anyone! more

The kerivan Lane employees pay attention to detail. when they come into my home they are polite and professional. They go above the call keeping their work area clean. They respect their surroundings when working. I have referred them to many of my associates. more

I have been a KL customer for more than 30 years. They are prompt and knowledgeable and I've never had a problem with them. These negative reviews are inconsistent with my experience--and I'm pretty demanding. Needham resident more

I am a Natick resident and I contracted with Kerivan-Lane Oil this year. On their second delivery they spilled dirty sooty oil all over my house. When I told the owner, Chris Lane about it and showed him the pictures, he just laughed at me and said that I was a liar!!! Can you beleive that ! On top of that he went ahead and "CANCELLED" my contract right in the middle of the cold season without my approval !! and I always pay on-time. Don't trust this guy he is bad news!!!! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH KERIVAN-LANE OIL more

We have used this company for years. They are always available and have experienced technicians. We have been on a budget plan and at times have had to call because we were going to be late on our payment. So nice to be able to talk to a real person instead of the huge companies where all u get is a machine or a voice from out of state more

Made a mess of my house, charged high prices for oil that clogged my filter, Yelled at me on the phone and denied spilling oil all over my basement. I now use a company in Dedham and it's been heaven ever since. more

This company screwed so many people this past season that they are now offering a 10 cent discount to existing customers. Before you sign a contract, do your self a favor and call around,you will find better rates , service, and easy out contracts. The owner must realize that customers are dropping like flies and his business plan of "screw now and worry about it later" is catching up with him. Have fun holding on to your customers JOHN S. Oil companies have two simple tasks - deliver oil at a reasonable price and good customer service. This company locks you into a contract , takes your money and leaves the phone on the receiver. They want money up front for the oil season then hold you hostage until april. Stay away unless you want revenge with someone you hate. more

make sure if you choose Kerivan Lane to deliver fuel to your families home that you are absolutelty sure you will not be effected by the recession. rest assured they will threaten to drag your ass to court for a measley amount of $ and after years of service. pass on this co!!! more

Avoid this company. They are not decent human beings. They will try to rip you off and if they make a mistake will aoivd dealing with it like spoiled children. They bring shame on the business. more

Avoid this company, as they have a proven record of abuse of their customers. They will overcharge you, spill oil all over your house and then avoid your phone calls. They are known to attempt to intimidate their customers when complaints are lodged, or they hide behind their insurance company. Jack and Chris Lane are crooks. Avoid them at all costs. more

After they negligently spilled oil all over our basement and disrupted our lives, Kerivan Lane employees Jack and Chris Lane attempted to hide from us. Our insurance company, in attempting to get their information faced the same problems. Not only did they damage our property, but they were rude and evasive. We would recommend that anyone who wants a fair price, decent service and a company that stands by its work AVOID KERIVAN LANE AT ALL COSTS. more

We have used Kerivan Lane for years. This winter, after several oil burning problems we opted to have a third party evaluate our burner. The third party spent hours cleaning the unit and stated that in his opinion the burner had not been cleaned in years even though that was part of our agreement with Kerivan Lane. It was well worth the money and the burner was given a good bill of health. After telling Kerivan Lane about the issue they wanted to look at it as well. They came out and immediately tried selling me a new heating system. After about an hour in the basement they ended up leaving. Later that week when I was in the basement again I noticed a very strong smell of oil that wasn't there after my third party heating guy was there. It turns out, Kerivan Lane had spilt a large amount of oil in the basement, never mentioned it to me and made no attempt to clean it up. After reporting this to Jack Lane, he initially denied that anyone was even at my house and then asked how I could prove that one of his men cased the spill. That was enough for me. We have since changed and have not had any burner problems since Kerivan Lane is no longer neglecting the unit. more
