Kangaroo's Pouch, Jupier Party Store

Since moving to Florida in June, (it is nearly November now) I have enjoyed weekly and biweekly trips into the Kangaroo's Pouch. They have a wonderful selection of children's clothing including footwear and an occasion selection of school uniforms. The Kangaroo's Pouch also has a fantastics selection of toys, books, games, baby gear, costumes, and party supplies. As a ""consignment mommy"" I have found the quality to be in the good to excellent range.\r \r Today was my first time consigning my own items at the Kangaroo's Pouch. The owner found none of my items acceptable for resale in her store. As a first time consigner in her establishment I was not offended by this. Mind you...everything I brought in had been laundered and laid flat directly from the dryer. Some items were half folded to prevent them from wrinkling in the storage containers I brought them into the store in. Although they were still all flat. Additionally, the three storage containers were sitting in my car, which had been running with the air-conditioner on for a period of time before I left my house. \r \r I have consigned many times prior to today and was very open and optimistic about the Kangaroo's Pouch. I have ALWAYS received great customer service from the owners husband when I've gone into the store. Dealing with his wife who claimed to be the ""owner"" was a completely different issue.\r \r Perhaps the owner would have preferred that my items be on hangers. I also had a fair amount of summer items to consign and it was my error that they are only accepting fall/winter clothing at this time. The clothing I brought in was also sitting in a cold car but it was not damp nor was it wet. Which she claimed it all was. She was also annoyed by the presentation of my clothing.\r \r It was not what she was saying about my items or my presentation of them that offended me. It was how she was speaking to me that COMPLETELY OFFENDED ME.\r \r I got my tubs of clothes and began to carry them to the front of the store. I was prepared to shop and make purchases even though she did not want to consign my items. I had a toddler pair of Nike sneakers and a lion costume. I fully intended to browse the clothing racks as I always find something. \r \r Before I exited the store with my items, preparing to go back inside to shop I explained to her that it was not ""what she had said to me but how she had said it to me"" that was very rude. Borderline mean and a horrible display of customer service.\r \r She then went off on me from the front of the store. Honestly, I am still in shock. I don't even know if other people were shopping. I wasted over 45 minutes of my time driving to and fro and attempting to consign some clothing. I also wasted 5-10 minutes browsing as she looked through my items. \r \r If you are looking to enter an establishment to consign or shop where you will feel welcome and comfortable - Make sure you call in advance and make sure that the woman who ""owns"" the store is not there. She was a horror show. Her husband seemed less than surprised by her display and has always been very friendly. \r \r I am very disappointed in the way I was treated as a loyal customer of the Kangaroo's Pouch. more

What a cool find! I had no idea that there was such a neat combo of children's consignment & party store in our area until recently. This is a one stop shop! I can get stuff (clothing, toys, gear & misc for my baby) & party stuff too. The owner was sooo helpful with my event & party, even special ordered! I consigned baby stuff with such ease too. I'm thankful to have met the lovely family who owns & runs the store. They really make me & my child feel welcomed & at home! Thanks KP! :) more

I can't even believe this place is still in business. My experience in this facility was like being in the twilight zone. I think the name of this place should be changed to Rude 'a' roo's. Last week I had the most horrible experience ever in a retail store. The thought crossed my mind that I was on a hidden camera show, the customer service was so bad. The owner (initially thought she was just an employee) was ridiculously rude and controlling. It was seriously creepy and weird. I was unable to touch anything in the store. I entered the store with my daughter, who by the way is extremely well behaved. This "owner" immediately floated over to me to let me know that my daughter should not be touching any toys in the store. I actually looked around me to see if anyone else was there to hear what she was saying. This woman didn't even know me and she's immediately telling my 5 year old daughter, in a demoralizing tone, not to touch anything in the store. Bizarre!!! I was ready to explode more

She approached me a second time trying to insinuate that my daughter knocked over some plastic baby toy. I was with my daughter the entire time and not once did any item fall to the ground. At this point I felt so uncomfortable that I had to leave. I thought there was something seriously wrong with the owner, like maybe some kind of emotional issue. I was seconds away from just telling her off. Instead I decided to just leave. It wasn't worth getting even more enraged so I decided that the walmart on Indiantown was a better option. I wasn't even sure if I would write this review, because I never write reviews. But this experience was so outrageous that I had to share this with some of you. I can tell you that I'm never going to step foot in that place again. For a joke, I am going to send in one of my friends in with his kids to see what happens.............:) Maybe he'll update my post after his experince. more

This is my favorite kids shoe store in the world! I always find great quality brands at affordable prices and a good selection of sizes! All very important with a family of all girls to shop for! Paula, Josh and her mom are always a pleasure to talk to. I very much enjoy shopping here for our girls' things and am thankful I don't have to go far to find such great deals. Keep up the good work Kangaroo's Pouch! more

I am sad to see how offended people get when their items are not accepted. I love KP because I know I am buying quality, clean used merchandise for a lot less. I consign with them very frequently and while I sometimes disagree with them not taking an item to consign, I realize that they have very high standards and they KNOW what sells better than I do. I would rather they turn my item down so I can give it away than have to come back for it in 3 mo because it never stood a chance of selling. While Josh and Paula may seem harsh, they only have high standards, they are kind and truly care about their customers. more

Family owned business with Party Store attached. They give you a better percentage on your goods than many other consignment stores in the area. more

Kangaroo's Pouch is one of my favorite stores! The owners, Paula and Josh, are extremely knowlegable and friendly and they carry quality merchandise. My 5 year old son adores the owners and absolutely loves visiting with them at the store! more

I went to the store twice and was very disappointed with the attitudes of the owners. My first experience. My children were looking through the toys to see what they would like to buy. They are 7 and 5. They were told by the male owner of the store not to touch anything. How are they suppose to decide if everything is in bags. They have to touch them to look what is inside. I left and decided to come back to give them a second chance. Everyone has bad days. My second experience. I came with a couple of things and they excepted nothing. It doesnt bother me that they didn't except anything. It was the attitude of the female owner that made me feel that how dare I bring that into their store. I will never shop in their store again!! more

The store owner was extremely rude! Brought some things in for consignment and was treated like a small nobody. They were harsh with their words and made me feel very uncomfortable. I also looked at some of their items and prices were extraordinarily high! Some of their clothes were the same price as in the store new! The markdowns were barely even there. I will never go back to this place! more

Great place to bring your childrens clothes and buy them. Clothes and items are in great condition. Owners are extremely nice! I really like coming to this place more

Kangaroo's Pouch is great! The owners are very sociable, courteous, and they only consign items in great condition. This is my first stop to find must haves for my 5 month old. I highly recommend this store. more

We went in last week to meet the family who purchased the business before the holidays. Pleasantly, we found that they are doing a great job -- keeping standards high. I found them more pleasant & helpful, also the prices seemed right on. I will visit them more often & keep consigning & shopping! more

I visited this store 2 time now. Both were pleasant & I got great deals. As for other reviews saying they were expensive, I disagree. I found top names & everything looks brand new --in fact a ton of stuff still has the original tags! I got furniture, clothes & a couple toys. You can't beat it. I also found the staff to be a delight! more

this wonderful kid's consignment store has got to be the best kept secret in jupiter. a friend told me about them, she's been shopping there for her 3 kids for almost 10 years. there's a huge supply of clothes for all age kids, many name brands, gorgeous kids furniture, and a room full of toys. i was even able to get maternity clothes, they have stuff from bedding to books. they have just found a new long term client! more

I have been shopping here for almost 7 years. They are NOT overpriced. Everything is in like new condition -- some still w/ tags. I never buy kids cloths, toys, etc. w/out price shopping Kangaroos Pouch 1st. And also, they are so helpful! You won't be disappointed! more
