My husband and I have left our dog at K9's Only twice now in the past year. The first time was a great experience and they seemed to have genuinely cared for our dog. So we had no...

My dog loved it here! 3/1/2011

My dog loved it here! Sadly I work a lot and don't get lots of time to exercise her when I get home. I take her here three times a week and I would never take her anywhere else! My lab always comes home tired, and taken care of. The staff may be the best part though, they get excited to see my dog when we walk in, and they seem to really enjoy working with the animals :) LOVE THIS PLACE! more

I give k9's only 5 stars!! 2/24/2011

After two sessions (one of which was free) my dog was like a completely different dog and EVERYONE I knew commented on the calmness of her behavior. I give K9's only 5 Stars. I would give them 10 if I could. The community and doggies are lucky to have these guys around! more

You won't be disappointed! 2/23/2011

I'm never one to write a review, but was so happy with K9s Only; I had to take the time. I was VERY impressed with their friendly and knowledgeable staff as well as the owners Bobby & Kelly, who are there to take care of you and answer any questions you might have. They took me on a tour and I couldn't believe that the place smelled SO wonderful... You won't be disappointed. It's a fantastic place! I wish I would have found it sooner! more

Be Aware Please! 11/1/2010

We took our dog to K9's for In-Kennel Training and while it is clear that they worked with our dog they did NOT even come close to what was promised! The specific issues that we took him there for were not addressed. I can say he is better behaved around the house but we needed more socialization and work with other dogs. We picked up our dog in July and we are still having issues with him. We have done many many follow ups and meetings with Bobby and the trainers. I personally work with our dog everyday so this is not an issue where we did not follow up! They did take the time to get back to us and they said all of the right things. They continued to ""want to help us"" but we just never saw any changes as we would work with him and do the ""homework"" Bobby would suggest. My Husband and I realized that the lifetime guarantee really doesn't help when all of the training must take place at the facility! So while I can't say they didn't help us or train our dog at all.....I can say that they did maybe 50% (if that) of what was talked about and explained to us. As far as ""heavy-handed"" trainers (which another review makes reference to) I now would agree with that. I think they tend to be a little rough with the pinch collars. A lot of yanking around and I didn't like that my dog would yelp, it made me very uncomfortable. I was referred to a dog trainer through our pet-sitting service and honestly it's like night and day!! He only trains where the dog lives and walks....etc. If there is anywhere you'd like to go with the dog he will meet you there! He brings different dogs with him to socialize the animals. He also taught me in one session how to properly use a pinch and let the animal do the correction with their own body weight. He is amazing, and it's half the price of a private session at K9's. He spends as long as it takes (2 to 3 hours sometimes) and would not take more money! He is completely passionate and trains only with compassion for the dogs. I'm writing this because I just want people to really think about this and to make an informed decision! I want people to know that there are passionate trainers out there who really want to help you! I feel, if your having specific issues with your dog this may not be the place but I also realize that you are the only one that will decide where to take your beloved pet! more

Heavy Handed Trainers 3/24/2010

My these people are heavy handed and not at all informed about dog behavior. Bobby rarely tells the truth even though SO much comes out of his mouth and his assistant is heavy handed and has a temper. Both seem to be compensating for their stupidity on a regular basis. I would never bring my dog there for training again. I watched them ""work"" him during a check in after our training and was horrified, I left. Pros: Looks nice Cons: Heavy Handed Training more

Great Place, Great experiences. 3/9/2009

This place has definitely help my dog change in a good way, He is still his own self, just more mature and calm, if you are gonna go to K9s only, working with Edward will be the way to go, because He is the same every time, he an excellent trainer, professional, down to earth, nice to dogs and nice to people and He explains things to you in a way that makes sense and they just click in your mind. Definitely recommend this for grooming, training, daycare, well...everything! Pros: Experienced Trainers, Great Grooming, The owner are very nice and modest. Cons: Hard to find parking. Think employees should leave some spaces for clients more

Great experience, highly recommend it! 1/25/2009

My husband and I highly recommend K9s Only for training. We rescued a sweet, wonderful lab with some serious issues, especially aggression toward other dogs. A friend recommended K9s Only to us and we are grateful that he did. We opted for the in-kennel 3 week training program. Our dog definitely learned the basics during those three weeks. We had a great experience with Bobby, Sharon and Edward. The entire staff at K9s Only seem to really care about the dogs but the training staff is especially fabulous. It is extremely important to do the follow up sessions to the training. They definitely stand by their ?lifetime guarantee? and are happy to help with any issues your dog is having. They also have a very helpful Saturday class for those that have already done the training. We highly recommend the class since it provides good socialization and also reinforces the training both for us and our lab. more

Con 12/4/2008

Bobby the owner is all about appearances. Unless there is something in it for him he will not give you the time of day. Don't complain about the service or he will either not get back to you, or if you are a woman he will try and intimidate you. If you are man his true colors come out. He will not show his face and let his employees do all the talking. As far as dog training goes, Bobby was able to dazzle a couple of actors. Unfortunately that is all it takes in this shallow town to earn credibility. Save your money, there are plenty of other kennels that provide far superior service. more

Heaven for Dogs! WOW! What a great place!!! 9/25/2008

I used to take my dog to Hounds Lounge and it always smelled so bad. I then switched to Camp Happy Dog and I was not pleased with the size of the daycare or the number of dogs they pack in. K9s Only is VERY strict on how many dogs they allow into daycare. They also make accommodations for dogs that are not social, which most placed don't. \r My Rusty (senior dog) who is just recovering from surgery really benefited from the Water Therapy. Yvonne is so gentle and Rusty's recovery was amazing. He?s almost all better and will start daycare once a week! I can't comment on the boarding, because I have not boarded yet, but have a reservation for Thanksgiving. I thought their prices were a bit high, but after looking around, they are actually competitive with other boarding places, but offer so much more. You get what you pay for right! Bobby, the owner is also a behaviorist and trainer and I was impressed with his knowledge. One of my neighbors trained her dog with Bobby and the transformation was incredible! We are thinking about getting a puppy next year and we?ll be bringing him to K9s Only for training.\r You won't be disappointed. It's a fantastic place! I wish I would have found it sooner!\r Pros: Great Staff, Great Location, VERY VERY Clean - Very Professional Cons: Closed Sunday's :( and they don't take cats! more

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, safe/clean/beautiful facility 9/2/2008

I spent quite awhile searching for a great boarding facility for my dog. I do NOT like to board him, and in his 2.5 years of life this past weekend was only the second time we've had to do so... needless to say, I am picky when it comes to his care!\r \r K9s only has eased my mind greatly. I know that any future boarding we do will be at their facility. It's kept in pristine condition, and their entry requirements are quite strict--which means the other dogs entering will be healthy and won't be passing on illnesses to YOUR dog! This was a great concern, as he contracted kennel cough during his stay at Wagville in Glendale. He's come home today happy, healthy, and calm--what a relief!\r \r I love that they give boarders private rooms--I know that played a major role in his happiness. He can get overwhelmed in the free-roam kennels, where the dogs are all thrown in together 24 hours a day. The staff was also SO friendly, and he couldn't stop giving kisses to the girl who brought him out from the boarding rooms to go home! \r \r I would highly recommend K9s Only to ANY friend! Pros: Great facility, individual care and attention, strict entry requirements, friendly staff--great service Cons: Parking to pick-up can be tough, limiting pick-up (before noon) and drop-off (after noon) hours more

I did not have to give my dog away thanks to K9's Only. Bobby and the crew are great 8/2/2008

I had taken my Germansheperd puppy to J9s k9s. short story Janine was yelling and screaming through all the classes she talked so fast you could hardly understand her. She rushed to the point of leaving out things only to realize it in the next class. I used to be a teacher of scuba& kung fu I like to think I know what personnal attention means. Janine told us not to ask questions but to leave a message the next day and she would get back to us RIGHT. Then she told me Germansheperds were the most screwed up breed in the country and I might have to get rid of him.Because we where going to have a baby. After 6 week class she said he needed a private. She took my money once again and acted as if she had just met us. She started asking questions and giving info that should have been part of the first day of class. She told me if my dog was to smart to be bribed by a treat O'well. He's a germansheperd of course he is. That's probably why she doen't like them. I talked to a few other trainers who where willing to cut down on his training time to give me a better price with the same result?? Bobby at K9sOnly would not do that he said he could not guarantee the training in a 2 week period. Now that sounded like an honest man to me! I needed spinal surgery so we gave he our dog to K9's Only for 3 weeks. He was like a new dog when we saw him again! you can tell if your dog has been mistreated. He was not. My dogs spirit was not broke and he has great confidents in him self(AND HE LISTENS) Because of my neck I could not follow up at home even still I go vist Bobby and he shows me how to compencate for my injury. Bobby also told me the training is now in my dogs head so stop worry so much about it . When I get better to come in and they will get him back up to speed NO PROBLEM NO CHARGE. After J9's K9's if I didn't carry 10 pounds of sausage my dog just stared at me waiting. Maybe Bobby is a little expensive I don't but what I do know K9's only was worth every penny!!!!! Pros: They did everything they said they would with no problem Cons: None that I saw more

making ammends 6/17/2008

So since my last review K9's only contacted me as they had been unaware I was not happy.\r Bobby and Sharon the office manager took the time to sit with me and my family and try and work things out..The past cannot be erased but I certainly felt alot better when I left there. I appreciated they wanted to make ammends and fix any wrongdoing. I was pleased with the meeting and felt they had made some very good changes to avoid the same mistake from happening again. more

Horrible experience!! 5/29/2008

K9's only is the worst place to take your pet in my opinion. I use to take both of my adored dogs for socializing and daycare(not for overnights). On one occasion last year(July 2007) when I called to make an appointment for my dogs to come and play the office staff told me my dog Boo was out of date with his shot records (not true!) I told them it must be a mistake as my vet records along with my own recollection was that he wasn't due for that particular shot until 2008!. When I dropped my dogs off at daycare on the scheduled day I bought the records to show them and also had my vet fax them the records showing he didn't need the shot they were mentioning. They said everything was fine with them and I left my dogs and went home..I came to pick up the dogs in the afternoon(it was on a (Tuesday) and asked if the dogs had fun, they said they had a great time, although my dog Boo seemed out of sorts..So during that following week he still didn't seem well but I didn't know what to make of it..Well 4 days later(Saturday) I get a BILL from K9's for the shot that I DID NOT AUTHORIZE~NOR DID MY DOG NEED. I called them up and asked if there had been a mistake and NO sure enough they had given him the shot BY MISTAKE?? I asked them how could that happen were they running around the daycare with shots in their hands?? They are not VETS!!\r They said they were sorry but when I went in to talk with the owner Bobby..he gave no explanation as to how the mistake even happened...which at the time was all I even wanted..He never called even once to see how my dog was doing after such a horrible incident. I was left heartbroken along with vet bills because of my sick dog(unfortunately my dog has severe allergies and cannot tolerate an excessive amount of shots! Again, never hearing from K9's only again..they couldn't have cared less about their horrific mistake! A dog could die from such a careless mistake...my advice stay away from them they don't care. Pros: Glamorous surroundings(although I don't think the dogs care Cons: They are sloppy and make bad mistakes more

A Piece of Dog Bliss Here on Earth 4/17/2008

Last October I rescued a little maltese/terrier. I had NO idea what her prior situation was, but she needed training badly. I had gone through 3 different trainers including a 3 week boot camp with someone else who helped my dog come out of her shell, but did not train ME!! Needless to say, my little girl and I STILL needed help! Someone at the dog park told me about K9's only and I began to take my girl there for day care. I was struck immediately at how friendly and careing the staff was. Right away I felt safe leaving her there all day to play. The staff made me feel like I was leaving my dog with my family. I expressed concern that my dog and I needed training but I had already spent thousands of dollars already and was leary of spening any more money. Bobby and Sharon were FANTASTIC!!!!! They didn't even charge me for a session. They did not try to rip me off or manipulate me. They wanted me to understand basic commands and they wanted to improve my dog's relationship to me. I read on this list a negative review and am stunned and shocked... this was not my experience AT ALL! After two sessions (one of which was free) my dog was like a completely different dog and EVERYONE I knew commented on the calmness of her behavior. I give K9's only 5 Stars. I would give them 10 if I could. The community and doggies are lucky to have these guys around! Pros: Friendly ""down home"" staff, free doggie treats, excellent caring training Cons: None that I can think of more
