We have rented RV's from K Rentals every year over the Memorial Day weekend to go to Hershey Park since 2011 and have been very happy with the vehicles and the folks at K Rentals. After checking in with Geoege, We are always greeted by Jerry, who makes us feel like family. He reviews all the operating procedures with us and answers our questions (which are usually the same every year :-). The kids love the RV and usually count down the days until it comes again. If we had any problems with operating the various ""systems"" over the years we call and they always answer (as it is usually ""operator"" error - we are always greatfull for the direction). I rented a motor home for a week. We visited them during the planning of our trip and they showed us multiple models before we reserved a vehicle. Our RV was ready to go on pick-up and we got a full orientation / explanation of all systems. The RV was new (7K miles on the odometer) and we had no problems. The fees and mileage allowances were clearly defined in the contract. We cleaned the vehicle before returning and received a full refund of our deposit. I don't have any hesitation to rent from them again. more

Below is a copy of an e-mail I sent to FMCA. \r Gentlemen:\r While traveling from Knoxville to Pittsburgh, we had a front wheel bearing oil seal failure. I was able to limp in by stopping to add lubricant every 50 miles or so. Upon arrival in West Newton, PA, I ended up contacting K Rentals the RV Store in Jeanette, PA. \r I gave them the VIN Number of my 2008 Workhorse chassis Southwind Motorhome. They ordered the part around noon, called me to bring the rig in, which I did. \r About 3:30 PM, they called and asked if I wanted to pick up my Motorhome since they were done. \r I can not recommend this repair facility more strongly than to say that if you need repair work done in western PA, please call this wonderful group of folks. \r Sincerely,\r Jim Coleman\r F306519 more

AMAZING SERVICE!!! Reading the past remarks from past customers makes me really understand how lazy America is! These people complain about cleaning a vehicle you have had for a week or so. I wish they could explain to me how you can mess a car up that bad in a short amount of time that you can't wipe the vehicle down inside and out and sweep? People are also complaining about the security deposit. I have never been to a vacation rental that has not held some sort of security deposit, IT'S THE SAME THING! Like a said people cease to amaze me!! I have rented through this company a dozen of times and have never had a problem. They are all so polite and explained everything up front. They thank me all the time because I bring the vehicles back clean! (very appreciative). They have even dropped my security deposit amount because I do what I'm simply told!!! Which brings me to my point as to why all the negative posts anger me. And let me tell you I have had my few times where I did not get all my security deposit back and that was because I went over my FREE mileage. (which people do not mention in the previous posts.) Plus the people complaining about the high prices, well I pay at least 3 times a year and I expect paying that price for how nice and luxurious the vehicles are. I typically stick to the conversion vans just because my colleagues and I travel for business reasons. HIGH RECOMMENDATIONS!! more

Bad business people. Recently paid $1,750 to rent a RV for six days. Unit was high milage with expected wear and tear. Departure inspection was about 5 minutes (noting existing damages) Return inspection took almost an hour. Owners son was literally on his hands and knees inspecting the carpet. My wife and I had spent about 3 hours cleaning this thing, inside and out. Waste of time as it turns out. They screwed me on my CASH deposit. Very hostile environment. Stay away. more

Robbery without a gun. Stealing a deposit for a cleaning fee after we spent 3 hours cleaning it before returning it. Stay away... Overpriced and terrible business practices... Very unethical more

Stealing is a crime but for them it is their business. We spent 3 hours cleaning the RV before returning it and they charged us 275 for fingerprints on the windows. You can do better somewhere else. Unethical thieves.... Should have called the cops. more

We needed an extra van to take our 13 youth members from our church on a mission trip down south. Picking up the van was totally fine. Everyone was nice, friendly, and efficient. The 10 passenger van was in great condition when we got it. We went over it with the guy and noted a few problems so that we wouldn't be charged anything. On our way to return the van we stopped 2 miles before the drop off so we could fuel it up. Unleaded pumps top out at $100 dollars and put the fuel gauge on this van past the ""F"". When we dropped it off they said that the gas tank wasn't full and they were charging us a surcharge for bringing it back partially empty. 2 MILES before we got there we FILLED it. I think that anyone would say that we made a good-faith attempt to return the van as full as any unleaded pump would allow for. Before we had returned the van we had completely vacuumed it out! We removed all of the rugs and vacuumed them as well as the interior carpeting. We also stopped on the way and totally cleaned off all of the bugs and dirt on the outside of the van. (I even personally vacuumed out the cup-holders.) When the guy started to go over the van he acted disgusted like he couldn't believe we could have brought it back in that condition. I'm not saying that there wasn't more that we could do. We did not windex the windows or wipe down the dash, but in all fairness we did an awesome vaccuum job. This company charged us for ever single charge on the list. EVEN VACUUMING! They could not have gotten that van any more vacuumed out! They managed to justify a $5 cabinet-clean out charge when we literally never opened any of the cabinets. The guy said he could just see the southern red-clay dirt in the van which is so far beyond what any reasonable human being would actually attempt to claim. I was absolutely disgusted with their business practices, and I work in a church! They acted SO nonchalant when saying that these are possible charges if we don't clean the van, and then they go crazy over things that don't even make sense when you return it. I will NEVER bring business to this company again. What is the opposite of recommending a company? That's what I'll be doing with K Rentals. more

Rented a Conversion Van from these folks awhile back to take my handicapped father on a trip to see my brothers graduation. Was charged several hundred dollars of deposit because it wasn't returned in ""detailed"" condition. Guess what.....you drive 2 miles on PA roads in winter and a vehicle is dirty again. Sorry I spent money getting it cleaned. Had we known they were just going to steal our money we would not have bothered. Was a nice vehicle but would rather deal with honest establishments going forward. Stay away unless you have money to throw away. more

We recently rented a 29 foot RV from K Rentals. We have previously rented from another company in Pittsburgh, this was our first time with this company. Every single person from the email questions, office reservations, to check out/check in was amazing! The RV was top notch; couldn't have asked for a better operation. We used K Rentals for our road trip to Tennessee with a family of four which included an infant! Naturally, after reading the reviews, we were worried and discussed our concerns with the staff. Our experience with them was nothing short of fantastic. We got an excellent RV (all their RVS are 2007 or later). Both Terry & George provided excellent service. The RV was super clean, and the pickup and the drop off process was efficient. I am not sure about some comments about ""nickle and diming"", but the add-on charges were very well explained before we picked up the RV: generator, extra miles, gas fillup, and sewer disposal. There are NO additional expenses (except if you damage the truck). I would use them again. The staff was awesome. Give them a try. more

We just got back from a long vacation in Florida for which we rented the RV from K Rentals for 2 weeks. The vacation was extremely enjoyable, made more so by the excellent experience at K Rentals. A. Checking Around I did a lot of research on the net and found K Rentals to be the only company that has very clearly laid out policies and is easy to get quotes from when you are still trying to decide whether to rent or not. B. Reservation & Changes To start with, their change / cancellation policy made me feel comfortable that I will not get into a situation where I might regret having booked early. The process of booking was very smooth and I was able to get all details I needed before I made the reservation. All charges and fees etc. were clearly mentioned on the contract and unlike another company they didn't add on any 'cumpolsary extras' in the end. C. Pick-up The pick-up process was as smooth as the rest of the experience so far. All paperwork was ready and waiting for us. We paid the balance amount (including a $750 security deposit), did an inspection of the RV and were on our way. A good option that K Rentals provides is an option to return the RV with the propane tanks un-refilled (for a fee) and the sewage tanks un-emptied (for another nominal fee). We felt the charge was worth the benefit of not having to figure out where to empty the drains (since we were camping in a Park campground with no hookups). D. Driving experience The RV gave us absolutely no trouble - mechanical or otherwise. The RV was comfortable for us to sleep in (4 adults and 2 children), with some space left over. Sitting in the back was very comfortable for the passengers as well and all of them had good naps while 2 of us drove. Their driver assistance number is also a very useful thing to have though we didn't need to use it. E. Return Return was as smooth as the reservation and pick-up. We cleaned the RV well from inside. They charged us for the extra miles that we had traveled more than what we had pre-paid for and returned us the rest of the $500 deposit. All in all, it was a very friendly and positive experience and I would definitely rent again from them and would recommend them strongly to everyone. more

We had a New Year's Eve wedding and got a Limo for the wedding and a shuttle for my guests that evening. Everyone from the office guys to the driver were incredibly kind, smart, and accommodating. Our driver was there every step helping me out, everyone's bags, dresses, and comfort were all taken care of. Riding around was so much fun and made it all that much more special! My guests were also very thankful for a shuttle so no drinking and driving!! more

When I returned the RV is was quite clean and I did spent 2 hrs cleaning it from top to bottom. I actually was quite proud of the condition in which it was returned. They said it was filthy and charged me a $300 cleaning fee. They said there were scratches on the right side which were barely visible and charged me a fee to buff them out. A small chip was noted in the windshield and I was charged $50 to fill that in (I previously thought I was charged for the replacement of the windshield). All told I paid an additional $900 because of these fees. They said that their RV's are in better shape than other rental places and so they need to keep them that way. I have rented RV's from many other sites and their condition is similar and the fee's are reasonable. You will lose hundreds of dollars if there is any slight defect upon the return of the vehicle. You have no recourse as the $750 deposit is cash. If you do rent from this location, you should spend 60 min looking at the vehicle and taking pictures to document its condition otherwise you will pay dearly. All of the defects that I paid for went completely unnoticed by me. I personally believe that these are unfair business tactics but it is probably very lucrative for them. I was very dissatisfied with the experience and felt very very taken advantage of more

I am a long standing customer of K-Rentals and when I read this review I couldn't believe it! I am familiar with this incident, if it's the one I think it is, because I was present when this individual brought the rental unit back. To describe the damage done to the 31' RV as a ""slight fender bender"" is akin to labeling Hurricane Katrina as a mild summer shower with slight flooding! This person trashed the unit! The folks at K-Rentals are decent people who provide a clean, well maintained and reliable RV unit and are a pleasure to deal with every time I rent. There is no guess work or hidden charges when you rent. The RV unit is inspected by the customer and representative of K-Rentals every time it leaves the lot. The prices are very reasonable and the staff goes out of their way to make your rental a pleasant one. Whatever you do, don't give the previous person's review much weight! There may have been a scam artist in this transaction but it wasn't K-Rentals or their staff. Pros: Clean, well maintained fleet more

RENTERS BEWARE!!! Truth be told, I was lucky to get away with my life! I returned a 31 Ft. RV I rented and was verbally accosted. All the bad stuff you read about this company is true. They are scam artists. Yes, I admitted to a slight fender bender, but by the time it was all said and done, they scammed several thousand from my insurance company, claiming damage I never did. Worse part is one of their managers, dropped the ""F"" bomb in front of my 13 year old daughter. I was so scared we literally walked down the highway to get away from them. What ever you do - don't rent from these people!!! Cons: These people are scam artists. Check them out good! more
