always great food and perfect attention to detail to get the order correct.

This was an awful dining experience. The only good thing about it was they have the most tasty scallops and spinach! Valet was rude, Our waiter took 20 mins to come to the table...

Great all-around experience 3/19/2008

I made a reservation for a Monday night. I showed up about 40 minutes early to have drinks in the bar (the front room/bar was extremely crowed). When I checked in, I was told that they didn't have my reservation. But the host assured me he would take care of me. So we had drinks in the bar (very good ones) and were seated at exactly our reservation time!! The waiter was wonderful, the shrimp appetizer was yummy. I got the tuna with a side of broccoli. The tuna was delicious!! The broccoli had a cheese topping which wasn't very cheesy tasting (too bad) but still good. The key lime pie was tasty. We love this place and keep coming back!! Pros: Friendly waitstaff and seated on time Cons: bar area gets crowded as people wait for their tables more

Editorial review from GrubHub 2/29/2008

Stone crab bisque is excellent and the shrimp cocktail is very satisfying since the shrimp are huge. Don't forget the lucious Banana Cream pie !! more

Excellent food and service!!!!Be sure to visit 2/17/2008

Before i chose Joe's for our dining restaurant i have read and heard many positive and great reviews of this place so my expectations were high. We were seated in a timely manner, slightly after our reservation time b/c i have requested a different seating area and we had to wait an extra couple of minutes.(No big deal). Our server was Charles who was very polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Pros: Everything really more

Hostess or Guantanamo Guard - Reply 2/16/2008

For those readers concerned by the review of delyco...I am the Managing Partner of Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. I helped build the restaurant, train the staff and instill a culture of caring for the guest as a hallmark of how we do business. I received an e-mail describing this event from the reviewer and responded immediately, as did our Chef Partner and General Manager. We, unfortunately, never received a reply. As a restaurant operator, you do everything in your power to ensure that every guest who walks through your doors, leaves having had an experience which exceeds their expectations and gives them reason to recommend it confidently to others. There will be times, hopefully infrequently, when we fall short and that provides us with a greater opportunity to win our guest's patronage, by resolving the situation in a manner which demonstrates our sense of caring and committment to our guest's satisfaction. Unfortunately, this reviewer never gave us the chance to do either. more

Fantastic Seafood & Service 1/11/2008

In Chicago for short biz trip w/ my wife, I wanted to find the best seafood restaurant downtown. Joe's Seafood exceeded my expectations. In short, the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and the service was exceptional. One of the best dining experiences that I have had in a long time and I eat at nice places. The atmosphere is old-school chicago, with Frank Sinatra & Billie Holiday music playing. The bar is a little crowded, but they do a good job of seating you. The staff was extremely friendly. Pros: Seafood and outstanding service Cons: Bar is a little crowded more

Hostess or Guantanamo Guard? 1/3/2008

My fiancee and I, from Ann Arbor, Michigan, decided at the last moment to spend New Year's Eve in Chicago. We decided to step out of our hotel an see if any good restaurants were nearby. We came across Joe's and thought we would see if we could get a table. Business was bustling, but my fiancee found what was apparently the hostess: an older woman with funky red hair and rhinestones in her eyeglasses. He asked if it was possible to get a table, and she snapped at him, ""Not without a reservation!"" My fiancee, a gentleman not used to being spoken to so brazenly, commented back to her, ""There's no need to be rude about it, I just wanted to know if it was possible."" Her defense was not apologetic at all: she said that she was not being rude, only stating a fact. I agreed with my fiancee's perception of her uncouth demeanor--she was seething with very intolerable attitude. Additionally, when we turned to leave, he was quite certain that he felt her intentionally elbow him toward the door (hard to prove in the crowd). You'd think she was a prison guard as her last gig! more

Great Service and Food 9/25/2007

Read the Reviews and Joe's did not let us down! Went to Joe's to celebrate my Husband's bday. Seated promptly, Larry our waiter covered each menu item with a description- his knowledge of the menu was exceptional and he had great recommendations. We tried the full house appetizer and the stone crab bisque. Yum... that's all I have to say. We were so excited about our dinner after tasting the bisque and appetizers. I had the canadian lobster tails along with a baked potato and roasted corn. My husband ordered fish and he loved it! We also had Joe's Key lime pie for dessert- very good. Larry made our dining experience memorable, we never lacked for attentive service. Thank YOU Larry and Joe's. Everything was outstanding. Pros: Superb Service, Great Cuisine and Ambiance more

Unfriendly Maitre d'. 6/8/2007

We moved to chicago a year ago from britain and decided to spend our 1yr wedding anniversary dining at Joes for the first time, after randomly selecting it from a number of restaurants to try.The Maitre d' was so unfriendly, had a face on like you were walking into a funeral, his overall behaviour was so unwelcoming. Good food but wouldn't go back there.First and last time. more

Best restaurant in Chicago!!! 7/6/2006

My company visited Joe's a few weeks ago and we had the best meal we have ever experienced. From the great cocktails at the bar to the friendly door staff and finaly Jasper, our server, the entire experience was surreal. The best chocolate martini ever, according to my wife. We started with jumbo stone crab claws and king carb legs. They were very tender and almost sweet. The bigger, the better. Size does matter in this case. My boss got the medium size as his entree and he said that he should have ordered the jumbo because they tasted better and they were much easier to eat. We also had Alaskan king crab legs for the table. Our server said this was the best item on the menu, and we agree! They were so delicious, we ordered a total of 3 just for our appetizers!!! My wife and I spilt a bone-in filet and the Australian lobster tail. Oh my, oh my! Jasper sliced up the filet and tail so it was very easy for us to share, thats the way to go. The filet was the best steak I have ever eaten. I dont know where they find it, but we will definately be back for this again. The lobster was excellent, but pricey, well worth the money, however. My associates had a dover sole, more king crab, and jumbo stone crab as their entrees, and they all said that was the best meal they have ever eaten. Key lime pie, banana creme pie, and boston creme pie topped off our meal. They, too, were amazing. I understand they have drinks to match their desserts, but we were to full to enduldge further. Overall, the best restaurant I have ever been to, the best service, too. Jasper and his staff took controll of the evening and executed everything magically. We will definately return and my company will have their Christmas party there! Jasper...are you available around Christmas time? Thanks for the memories and keep up the good work, Joe's! Pros: Great drinks, service and food. Eat at Joe's and you will be a life long customer!!! Cons: The bar was very crowded, but thats to be expected. more

Best Date Dinner 7/6/2006

Joe's was recommended to me by a friend so my husband and I decided to try it out for our anniversary and it did not disappoint!! The service was excellent!! My husband had the sole and I had the filet-both were delicious!! They even gave us a special dessert because we mentioned we were celebrating our anniversary. Don't forget drinks. They make the best Key Lime Pie Martini (that's right, I said martini) in the land!! Pros: Service, Food, Drinks Cons: None for me. more

Joe's Stone Crab 7/6/2006

THIS IS THE BEST... sure there are better steaks to be had in chicago, and maybe you'll find a better piece of fish, but there isn't any place that has better stone crabs. Pros: THE BEST FOOD AND DRINK Cons: SOMETIMES YOU GOT TO WAIT, SOMETIMES A BIT LOUD more

Practically perfect 4/14/2006

Although she lives a block away, my girlfriend & I save Joe's for once/year around my birthday, because it's such a great restaurant we want to make dining there a special event. We usually begin with a drink in the bar before being seated, then start with a lobster bisque that's straight from heaven. From there, I always go with the Jumbo Stone Crab & Petite Filet, which is a combination to die for, while she varies between scrumptous salads or seafood dishes. Sides like Fried Sweet Potatos, Creamed Spinach, or Fried Asparagus are fantastic, and usually we can't get through two between both of us. The Key Lime Pie is a perfect ending, and every year when we go, the waitstaff always recommends the perfect wine or beers to go with our meals. Without a doubt, the finest restaurant I've been to in Chicago. Pros: Dinner, Drinks, Dessert Cons: too special to, go to all the time more
