Best

was in town for work! stopped in one day and couldnt stop going back. ate there 4 days in a week. stop in the ""to go part"" ""take out"" faster and just as good!

Worst

We arrived early on a Sunday so we would not have a wait, which once opened we were seated immediately. That was the only good part. I waiter was less than enthusiastic and just...

Joe's is the best around for stone crab. ..seasonal though. Our meal was out of this world and service was hard to beat....especially in Miami. She- Crab bisque w/ stone crab was perfecto. Will return for sure. more

the very best place on earth for seafood, all seafood, any seafood do you get my drift??\r take some money more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/27/2010

I just don't get it and I don't think I ever will........maybe because I wasn't born in Miami? maybe because I don't understand the skill involved in defrosting crab claws and adding mustard sauce? maybe because I don't want to wait an hour to eat in a cafeteria? more

Joe's is an institution, but I'm not ready for one thanks. Yes, the food is fantastic but as a local Floridian, there are plenty of other places to eat stone crabs that are just as good. \r \r The lines, the snooty staff and the insane prices are just not worth it. Let famous people wait 3 hours for a table, I'll go elsewhere. more

want a true taste of miami?? this is the place to go. warning, if you go on a friday or saturday at 8pm you will be waiting for 2 hours. But its a fun 2 hour wait because you can stand (lucky to sit) near the bar and chat with the tourists and locals. if you don't like large crowded places, this place may not be for you. but if you like being in the middle of the action, its a very fun, lively experience. the food comes out fast, and if you have never had stone crabs you are in for quite a treat! more

Be prepared to wait and wait and wait for this traditional fresh catch fine dining classic. It's a shame the still won't accept reservations. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 8/4/2010

I don't think it is currently on the menu but when it is or when they can make it, it is unbelievable. They use to marinate it for 24 hours before serving. Better than the finest steak. more

THIS PLACE IS ONE OF A KIND. THE FOOD IS "TO DIE FOR." more

Joes take away is the way to go if you live south of 5th. Love this place!! Never dissapointed, except when it closes for season.. more

This restaraunt gave excellent service and great food. It was a bit pricey, but the experience was worth it. Best seafood on South Beach. more

This is the only place I will eat Stone Crabs and I normally go there for a special occasion. Don't eat for a week before you go, because it is that good. more

Well...I don't think I can say anything bad about this place because I just love crab. The crab there is tasty cooked well and precracked which makes it easy to eat and delightful. The service is good, the atmosphere is classic and all the food is great. more

Great food, great service, great ambiance, hell I even chose this place to ask my wife to marry me some 17 years ago. It's simply the best! more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 5/17/2010

Best, freshest-tasting crab there is. Fantastic food. Worth the wait and the price. Please, never change a thing. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 5/5/2010

Simple, pure, fresh, delicious stone crabs with sauce. Worth the price. Also the informal to go place is a less expensive alternative before or after the beach. At the bar the calamari is an excellent appetizer. LOL! My dad gets the fried chicken and loves it. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 4/24/2010

An "okay" experience, but it is an inflated one: over-rated food, atmosphere, everything. more

Very nice, classy place. The staff was excellent and the food matched it. I had the 3lb. Dungenous Crab, it was amazing. I didn't like they served it without a marinate or butter sauce. I had to ask for butter sauce, otherwise howelse can you eat a crab? I give it a good rating I will be back. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 4/11/2010

Food is good but if you live here, you know where else to go for super fresh stone crabs and great key lime pie without having to wait 3 hours or greasing the maitre d's palm with a $50 to be seated immediately. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 3/25/2010

While Joe's is recognized as thee place for stone crab - there are plenty of other places that are equally as good... minus the inflated prices and three hour wait. \r \r True, Joe's is iconic, but it's really not worth the hassle or wait. more

Editorial review from Urbanspoon 3/16/2010

There is always a long wait at Joe's. However we usually just go to the bar and have some mojitos. This place is a Miami landmark, funny how stone crabs went from trash crustaceans, to top dollar menu items. It is a bit expensive but it is worth it. Every restaurant has poor service on occasion, and is a bit dingy during a rush. When I'm in the 305 I eat here when I can. more
