If you are in Sobe you have to go the one and only joes stone crab in miami.\r If you like fine dining you should eat at the restaurant.\r But if you prefer something more casual they have the lounge cocktails and appetizers, or the take out area where you have tables and you order at the counter,,,, this place been here for so many years and there a good reason for it. more

i just love it. i usually go to the take away, zero pretencious, nor complicated, same delicious food as in the restaurant, good service as well. every time i go, the seafood bisque is impossible not to order. if you are not in the mood for stone crabs, or want to be "adventurous", the tuna steak sandwich or the fried chicken are the best of the city. more

Joes is pretty good but you have to be mindful of certain things. Recognize it as the most reputable restaurant in Miami and a Miami dining institution. Know that at "the best" restaurant, everyone wants to go - tourists and locals alike. If you're not showing up at 5 pm then you should be prepared to wait and be prepared to eat. When demand outweighs supply the business will win always, and can charge whatever they want because people will pay and also the value of the service is diminished. My family received outstanding service but if there's an issue with your service you shouldn't be surprised. And last but not least, $$$$. Joes owns you and your wallet as soon as you make the decision to eat there. If you can remain mindful of all these things, you will enjoy this meal. more

I could get as good crab at any mom and pop shop in the florida keys. Good Key lime pie, very over priced. more

As delicious as Joe's stone crabs are, no restaurant could ever be worth this hassle, rudeness and two hour wait. The take away next door is the way to go. more

The take out section is right next to the regular restaurant and there is some free parking across the street. I've been to the take out place a few times and got the stone crabs which are served cold. I think you can request them steamed or grilled and I'm wondering if they might actually taste better hot. Cold or warm, the crabs are good. Also tried the crab cakes and they were some of the best I've had; they come with a home made tarter sauce that that was also excellent. For me, the best item I ate was the key lime pie; just an orgy of lime and graham cracker crust that everyone should try. You also get bread with the crabs and crab cakes, but they left out the butter so you might have to ask them to give butter for the bread with takeout. The crabs come in different sizes and much different prices. I got the medium which is the cheapest and it was plenty of food, the jumbo at the time was priced at $70 for 3 and looked like it would be the same amount of crab as the medium serving so maybe the bigger sizes taste better and that's the cause of the massive price differences. more

As usual we wait for the table but it was worth it because the Fillet Mignon was awesome. Super tender and the tomatoes were just perfect. With a glass of wine was the meal of the night. My friend order seafood and they loved it. more

We came in and signed on the waiting list, immediately a waitress offered to get us some drinks.\r I thought that we were going to wait at least one hour but we were called in 35 minutes. Exellent service, prompt and cordial. The food was very good and fresh everything served with perfect timing, from the soup all the way to the coffee and dessert. The stuffed clams were great and the lobster bisque excellent. The claws fresh and sweet, what more can you ask for!!!.\r We will definitively come back to Joe's.\r This visit was on a Saturday night arriving at 7:30pm. more

We have lived here a while and had not visited- so we decided to go today. Long and short is if you live in Miami you should go- BUT I must say Joe's did not take my breathe away. The building / atmosphere is fun- order at the counter, wait for your food, then you have a few options of places to sit (in or outside). My wife did a "medium" order of stone crab, it was good- I think she had 8 claws for around $25. She really likes stone crab, so it was "worth" it- if you are neautral on stone crab you will think the price is high. I had tuna salad- it was quite good (it had peppers in the mix). The best item was the lyonnaise potatoes- unexpected and good! I can't say I regret going, but I also can't say I would go back for a while- BUT if you are a stone crabber I assume this is your place! more

the title says it all. You want to eat at a top notch restaurant with an amazing reputation? This is your place. Fresh seafood, the crab? To die for!!! so fresh its like you literally went to the ocean picked it up and put it on the plate. The reputation speaks for itself...this place gets so packed the only thing I suggest is reservations!! Excellent restaurant. more

Nadia our waitress in the bar for the 90 minute wait was fantastic. Made us feel like the time was sliding by without a care. Cocktails were delicous and the wines by the glass seemed reasonable for the venue. \r \r Paula at our table was gracious and playful and we watched her handle each of her tables differently, giving each the service the customers seemed to need. Great reads. Her recommendations were excellent and she didn't try to oversell us.\r \r The stone crabs are incredible and worth trying at least once in your life (or thirty times in a month if you can get it). Sweet, meaty and served with such a rich and tangy mustard sauce I actually had almost all the drawn butter they gave me left at the end of the meal (it just wasn't as good as their sauce or the crab with nothing at all).\r \r Sides of sweet potato fries and creamed spinach studded with roasted garlic gilded the the lilly nicely on this vacation treat dinner and the key lime pie we didn't have room for in the restaurant is worth the togo bag. I'm not sure the hotel staff could have found a crumb left the next morning.\r \r But...and this 'but' really pissed me off...That maitre'd must have pocketed at least over a thousand in cold hard cash while we were there waiting an hour and a half for a table as he ran a "two-lines" system. Grease the palm and your name moves up the official waiting list to the 'preferred' waiting list. Watched it happen at least a half dozen times myself. Some he knew so well they tipped him on the way out. I call shenanigans. You're an institution and will have crowds flocking. Don't pull that wink, nudge we'll put your name down crap with me and expect me to feel gracious that you found a table for little old me. more

Our favorite restaurant in South Beach. The wait just gives you the excuse to have a drink at the bar. The staff have always been very accommodating - we have never had a bad experience here. more

While this is a tourist trap the stone crabs were good. We also had the manhattan clam chowder which is a meal in itself. We also had the cold seafood sampler entree which was also good. Pricing is what you would expect for a resort restaurant. more
