Let me give you my history of business with Joe's Music. I bought my first bass there 1 year ago and started taking lessons. My teacher, Jimmy Black, was an excellent teacher but did not teach me the more modern heavy metal I wanted to learn. Therefore, I switched to another local store. After that i would still go into Joe's, however I would have to deal with the seemingly friendly Joe tell me that my music is ""pointless talentless crap"". I soon needed a job though, and decided to possibly start interning at Joe's. It was a music store, local, and I figured if Joe and I could set aside our musical differences I would be happy to work there. I went in for my first night of free work one Friday, and was pleased with Joe's kindness and happy attitude. However, after it was almost closing time, Joe struck down upon me again. He spent the next 32 minutes putting me down and insulting me more than anyone has ever done in my life. He started telling me I was an idiot for leaving his store and the great Jimmy Black to take lessons from my current teahcer, whom Joe referred to as ""an idiot loser and talentless player"" for teaching me music in drop tunings. He then proceeded to call me a number of names, including ""retarded, foolish, dumb"" and more. He told me i was never going to be a good musician because i play metal music. Then he started mocking me and laughing at anything i tried to say, and Tony (a Joe's employee) joined by mocking me and laughing at me. I felt more hurt and insulted than i ever had in my whole life. I wanted to walk out and never come back, but I couldn't. I felt like I was trapped in there with Joe and Tony using my fear and emotional pain as entertainment. They laughed at me as I silently stared at the floor. Every time I tried to speak Joe would turn my respectable point into an insult and shoot it back at me. I literally wanted to cry. The point that confuses me most is why he would treat someone who sacrificed their saturday night to work for him for free like this. I finally left and as I was leaving, Joe said ""I'll call you about coming in on Wednesday."" My point is this: I urge anyone who is reading this, be them a new customer or longtime one to immediately cease all interaction with Joe's Music. Joe is a terrible person. I don't want to see anyone else treated the way I was ever again. Don't buy his guitars. Don't take his lessons. And most importantly, don't send your children to this disgusting excuse for a music store. Reason being, Joe is the most immature heartless person I have ever met.
