Editorial review from Citysearch 7/8/2013

THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF!!! Sold my brother a blown speaker. My brother bought my son a speaker and a speaker box there. The speaker was blown. When my son took it back, Jason or Justin whatever the acting managers name is told him it was installed incorrectly. We took the speaker to another stereo dealer and they stated there was nothing wrong with the installation but, the speaker was blown. When I returned with my son, the manager was very rude and very unprofessional. He stated he could sell us another speaker. I would never buy anything else from this place. I have left several messages for the owner (Brian Majors) to call me. It has been two months and still no response. I have called several times a week for the last 2 months and the owner is never there. I wish my son would have said this is where they were going and I would have done the research. Had they seen all of the negative reviews on this place, they never would have gone there. BEWARE of the these jerks............ more

UGH. i was actually referred to jimmy's by the honda dealership in ft walton - they said jimmys' does work for them. obviously, jimmy's treats them better than they do a customer off the street (or else the honda place is extremely desperate for installers). i needed a DVD system put in our odyssey. the process took WEEKS to get completed. they were NEVER at the store when it was supposed to open (9:00am). they NEVER had ordered parts/items when they were supposed to have them (and they never bothered calling to tell me ---- i only had to drive an hour to get there each trip.....obviously my time was completely unimportant to them) they are immature and very, very unprofessional. tacky guys. one of my DVD players quit working after 6 months and i stopped in to see how they would help me. i had spent $1600 having this work done....so i expected someone to be willing to offer repair/replacement since it had been such a short time. nope. they were instead annoyed that i dropped in on them and even tried to say that it was just a dirty dvd. after i assured them i was smarter than to bother them over a dirty dvd, they had a guy take one of the headrests out and told me they'd send it back to the factory - but i was responsible for whatever needed to be done AND it would probably be 8 weeks before i had any news. unable any longer to be patient with these guys, i took the headrest back with me and am now having to look for another dealer to completely re-do our system. my family owns a small business in our town -- so i WANT to support local businesses. however, i would not even send my worst enemy to Jimmy's. totally horrible experience! more

If You want ripped A New Ass..Go to Jimmy's Car Stereo FWB 3/21/2012

Brian and/or owner of Jimmy?s Car Stereo, 22 SE Eglin PKWY, FWB, Fl, 32548 Wes (He works for your sales and installation department) told me you were the owner of this business, Jimmy?s Car Stereo. I bought a ""brand new"" in the box car stereo, JVC KD-R330, and paid $185.00 in cash at 1:30 pm on 3-21-12. I left the store and called my husband on my cell and told him I finally got an updated system for my car. He told me to take it back because he had already bought me one. I went back to your Business, not even an hour later and on the same day, and explained to Wes or Wesley what had happened and that I wanted to return the stereo (Brand new, in the box not even opened). Wes said no refunds were given according to the owner's policies, however, he said he could give me a store credit. I told him I did not want store credit and that I didn't need anything else. I asked him why he didn't explain the store's policies up front when I was purchasing the stereo (this practice is sneaky and extremely unprofessional in my opinion...what kind of business are you running Brian?). Wes said the policy was on the wall but all I saw was car accessories. Well I never looked that close at the wall for a small sign that no one would have known even existed in the first place. Wes had to actually point to it for me to realize it was in there amongst all the other stuff on the wall. I told him that he should have provided better customer service by giving the store's policies either in writing or verbally explain them. (I reiterate: He did neither upon me purchasing the stereo) He just kept rolling his eyes and telling me there was absolutely nothing he could do. I asked for the owner, Wes said the owner (You) was on vacation until Monday. Brian, I asked for your name and phone number, of course Wes would not give me that information either and that I should talk to you about the whole matter on Monday. The police officer that I called told me your 1st name. Brian this is absolutely the worst customer service experience that I've ever encountered in my entire life and I am 44 years old and retired USAF. I could understand if I opened the box and actually had it installed...that would be a legitimate policy. This is robbery in my opinion. I got on the internet and did a consumer review and pricing of this car stereo as well. Unbelievable, I get poor customer service and I ripped off...the actual model sells for $69.00...this is totally unacceptable. This is a markup of over 100 percent. You definitely should try to remedy this matter with me. It would be a very reputable business move and ethically correct on your part. I contacted the BBB as well, and low and behold, you are not a member. more

The WORST place to get anything installed on your car!! 10/3/2009

The first complaint: I brought a head unit, four speakers, two amps and a subwoofer to be installed at Jimmy's and it took them four FULL days to complete. On the first day, I came to get my car and Leon said ""I hope you didn't want your factory navigation because with any new head unit, your NAV won't work anymore. I thought you knew this."" It took him two days to figure out that all you had to do was reset the nav and it worked fine. Wait, It gets worse! I bought all my stuff online and my head unit came with the manufacturer's antenna and everything else I needed. Without me knowing, Leon switched the antenna and installed a ""universal"" antenna so they could sell the one I originally got! The universal antenna is very cheap and made the radio reception horrible. Let me rephrase, this place will switch your equipment that is hidden to you, your own equipment that you paid for and sell it to someone else! Next, they wire my subwoofer wrong and it blew a voice coil within minutes...so I have to mail it back to Crutchfield for a replacement. I get the sub back and reluctantly go back to Jimmy's because of their ""Lifetime Warranty."" But this time, I wire the sub before I got there so they couldn't screw that up. I had to eventually take it to another audio dealer where they found all these problems and more. Leon apparently installed the RCAs backwards, and instead of fixing the problem, he just used a splitter on the amp end where it cut the signal to my subwoofer in half! Also, Leon said it wasn't possible to watch movies on my head unit unless he installed a switch where he had to drill a hole into my dash!! Later found out that all you have to do is make a relay. That's it, no drilling necessary! Eric seems to be the only one there that knows what he is doing. Leon is the biggest waste of space and will just throw your stuff together and not give a damn about the quality of work. This place is a NIGHTMARE and I suggest you go somewhere else for your car stereo installations. Pros: Absolutely nothing!!! Cons: They steal your equipment! more
