Review content:
The first complaint: I brought a head unit, four speakers, two amps and a subwoofer to be installed at Jimmy's and it took them four FULL days to complete. On the first day, I came to get my car and Leon said ""I hope you didn't want your factory navigation because with any new head unit, your NAV won't work anymore. I thought you knew this."" It took him two days to figure out that all you had to do was reset the nav and it worked fine. Wait, It gets worse!
I bought all my stuff online and my head unit came with the manufacturer's antenna and everything else I needed. Without me knowing, Leon switched the antenna and installed a ""universal"" antenna so they could sell the one I originally got! The universal antenna is very cheap and made the radio reception horrible. Let me rephrase, this place will switch your equipment that is hidden to you, your own equipment that you paid for and sell it to someone else!
Next, they wire my subwoofer wrong and it blew a voice coil within minutes...so I have to mail it back to Crutchfield for a replacement. I get the sub back and reluctantly go back to Jimmy's because of their ""Lifetime Warranty."" But this time, I wire the sub before I got there so they couldn't screw that up.
I had to eventually take it to another audio dealer where they found all these problems and more. Leon apparently installed the RCAs backwards, and instead of fixing the problem, he just used a splitter on the amp end where it cut the signal to my subwoofer in half! Also, Leon said it wasn't possible to watch movies on my head unit unless he installed a switch where he had to drill a hole into my dash!! Later found out that all you have to do is make a relay. That's it, no drilling necessary!
Eric seems to be the only one there that knows what he is doing. Leon is the biggest waste of space and will just throw your stuff together and not give a damn about the quality of work.
This place is a NIGHTMARE and I suggest you go somewhere else for your car stereo installations.
Pros: Absolutely nothing!!!
Cons: They steal your equipment!
