Jack & Diane's

I work in an office on centre street and we order from them at least once a week. Breakfast and lunch. We have never had any mess-ups or problems, or bad service. The delivery guy, Jim, gets it down here to us very quickly and it is always still hot. I have never been inside so I do not know how the waitresses are, but the people who answer the phone, cooks, and delivery guy are all fabulous. And we think that you get quite a good sized portion for what you pay. I'm sorry people have had bad experiences there, the place is great to us. more

My boyfriend and I ate here while on four-day trip to Fernandina Beach. Both of us were craving breakfast, yet we didn't make it into the charming downtown until the afternoon. After a recommendation from the owner of the rental house we were staying at (and despite the cautionary reviews here), we decided to eat at Jack & Diane's. The restaurant is a modest and charming little house, with a small indoor seating area and outside seating on a covered porch. The decor is ecclectic and unusual, but I really enjoyed it. We arrived at around 1pm on a Wednesday afternoon and had the place pretty much to ourselves. We were quickly seated and had a very attentive and informed server who was able to offer recommendations on the menu. There were breakfast selections, sandwiches and wraps, burgers, and even a $5 tasting menu if you wanted to sample multiple items. My boyfriend had the Jack & Diane's breakfast which consisted of eggs (he had his scrambled) and cornbread pancakes. The pancakes were different (more savory and gritty) and something we'll crave again. I had the Bennie's breakfast, which consisted of eggs benedict over fresh biscuits with a side of grits. The grits were not your traditional grits but more brownish, whole grain and filling. The food was delish! My only criticism was that the portions were on the small side and the prices were a bit steep (but most of the prices on the island are espensive). Our total was $30 for the both of us including tip. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, but go during off-hours. The place is small and I can imagine it gets a bit tight during peak times. more

We just visited Amelia Island. We chose Jack and Diane's because they had outside seating and we had Bubbles the dog with us in her crate. We both agreed that the tomato bisque soup was the best we'd ever tasted. I had jambalaya that was really, really good. My husband had a pork dish that he raved about. The staff was very friendly--of course Bubbles is kind of a magnet. Service was quick and efficient. I can't believe the bad reviews because our experience was the total opposite. We plan to eat there the next time we visit. more

Jack & Diane's has been great both times we've been here. Went yesterday with two friends and we had lunch. Everyone really enjoyed their food. One person did not want spicy and when she ordered her meal the kitchen sent out a taste of the sauce to make sure it wasn't too hot. Nice touch! It was in fact too hot so she ordered something else. We'll be back. more

Dinner elsewhere, they recommended J&D for b'fast, came to check it out, had to stay for coffee and dessert. Yum! Cant wait to hear live music at breakfast tomorrow. Musicians from Delray Beach with wife Marie , lovely cozy F. Beach. P.S. suporlative service! more

On the Island for Zach & Emily Steele's wedding tomorrow! Drove down from the Hoosier-State Good Ol Indiana! Came into have breakfast and it was yummy! And the Chef scramble (spot); very good! Hopefully be back for another vaca and will definitely come here again! Go Colts! more

We discovered Jack & Diane's by accident. But what a wonderful "accident" this turned out to be! The food was wonderful- Breakfast at it's best. The server was friendly and top notch. I loves everything on this wonderful porch watching the world go by. Thank you for this perfect breakfast! We will be back. more

We stopped in for a bit during our wedding week. We are getting married on October 3, 2009 and couldn't imagine a better place to get hitched than Amelia Island. My husband to be graduated from IO in Bloomington where John Mellancamp is from, we loved our meals, the Malaki tacos and curry wraps were absolutely awesome! Extremely flavorful. We would love to come back after 20 years of successful marriage and celebrate right here in Amelia Island. more

We're your typical tourist, in town to see Fort Clinch and celebrate 4 wonderful years of marriage. We parked on 1st street looking for a good place for dinner. Passed up 7 blocks of restaurants and eateries. No one else seemed as inviting as Jack and Diane's. And the food was amazing! Just what we were looking for but w/ an original twist. I have never had a better Quesadilla! Thank you Jack and Diane's (and Sarah especially!) for making these tourist feel at home! more

For our first visit to Amelia Island we came to Jack and Diane's and what a great choice. The service was perfect, and the food was great. We will be returning our next visit. All the best! more
