For all Sushi Lovers! 7/12/2008

JP Sushi was a pleasent experience! We were welcomed by the owners and staff upon our arrival. We sat at the sushi bar and watched how the sushi chefs were fast and organized. The seafood was very fresh and we had some new rolls that were superior to other sushi restaurants. We have eaten sushi all over the country and Asia and JP Sushi really could stand up against the best and it was very reasonable. Try the tempera - cooked to order in the open kitchen. We will certainly go again and again. Pros: Open kitchen and big sushi bar, service was fast and food was great! more

Fresh, not a lot of frills 5/10/2008

This is a comfortable, kind of a hole in the wall place without a lot of frills, but the fish is really clear and they take a lot of pains with the rice. It's an open kitchen, so you can watch them make it- really old school stuff. The tempura's flash-fried in rice bran oil, making it very light, with no residue at all. The service can be uneven when it gets busy but the chefs and the wait staff are personable and can even be hilarious. Pros: Homestyle sushi done to the old standards Cons: Hard to get into the place more

Very Disapointed. Horrible service & food. 12/31/2007

We decided to try JP Sushi because it is close to our house and we were very disappointed. We were seated before another table but they received their drinks and appetizers before we were even approached by someone to take our drink order. It took almost 45 minutes to receive our order of two simple rolls and one piece of nagiri. Meanwhile, other tables that were seated after us had received and eaten all of their food. We were ready to give up and leave, so we asked for our check, and then miraculously our food appeared. The food itself was not very good. Like a previous poster, we were also charged for things we did not order. Had we not already been there for over an hour, I might have protested. Pros: It LOOKS nice. Cons: Service was horrible. Food was... Horrible. more

Very good sushi and a pleasant atmosphere! 12/3/2007

We went to this restaurant as part of a gorup of 10 people. We had made reservations so they were ready for us (which doesnt happen all that often!) We sat down and ordered and the food was out pretty quickly. The fish was fresh and their eel covered crunchy roll was phenomenal. I would recommend this place for groups and for a great bargain place for sushi! Pros: Fresh fish, nice ambience Cons: parking was a little lacking more

fantastic sushi without the long drive indeed! 8/31/2007

This Japanese restaurant is fanstastic! more

As Good as it gets 8/13/2007

I'm a sushi-aholic. I've dined in sushi restaurants around the world, including Tokyo, and JP Sushi is as good as it gets! Not only do they have a great variety of well-presented and delicious sushi and sashimi offerings, but they also offer a wide number of exceptionally tasty alternatives (for the ""Idon't eat bait"" folks). Top the great food off with the wonderful selection of saki and beer and the pleasant and responsive wait staff and you have an awesome dining experience. Unfortunately I only make a few trips a year to the Atlanta area, but I definitely plan to make a beeline to JP Sushi every time I'm in town! Keep up the great work! Pros: Excellent food, drink, service, and value Cons: I live in D.C.! more

Great food, friendly environment 8/7/2007

I recently dined at JP Sushi for the first time and will definitely be going back again. The food was delicious, and beautifully presented. They have a wide variety of sushi rolls, and for those who prefer ""cooked food"" the salmon dish is out of this world. Pros: Food, service Cons: Parking more

Bad experience every time! 8/3/2007

I use to dine at Taksan (now JP Sushi) restaurant every Friday night. The food was great, the service was excellent, and everyone was friendly. Now since the new management has taken over (JP Sushi), the restaurant has really gone down hill. The food is ok but the service is horrible! We always have to tell the waitress several times before they get our order correct, we are always charged for something we did not order and have to argue about our bill, and the people are very unfriendly. This was our last trip to this restaurant!! Pros: Sushi Cons: Service, Poor management more

JP Sushi...finally suburbia has something worth driving for 4/17/2007

JP Sushi is a great, unassuming sushi bar. The staff is quick and courteous and the food is great. It's a great family style Japanese restaurant owned by two sisters and another business partner, they definitely make you feel right at home as you go in. Now for the best part, the food and drink selection. If you happen to be a connoisseur of sake, this is definitely the place for you. They serve a great selection of Ginjo cold sake as well as the more widely known warm sake. Now that the weather has turned warmer, I highly recommend asking the staff about the cold sake and giving one a try. The sushi is great. There menu has something for everyone and if you don't see it on the menu, definitely ask the head sushi chef if he can make it for you. More than likely he'll be more than happy to make it. I focus mainly on the sushi because that's my preference, but they have a great selection of teriyaki and Udon dishes as well. Personally, I'm a sashimi man myself. The Uni and quail egg is always sweet, the tuna, salmon, and yellowtail are always flavorful and fresh. For a change of pace, next time you are having sashimi I recommend asking for a small sampling of sesame oil with salt in it and a few slices of seaweed to wrap around the sashimi. It's definitely a refreshing change of pace. So if you happen to be in the Roswell / Alpharetta area and are looking for some very good sushi at an even better price, I definitely suggest you stop in and give JP's a try. more
