Terrible service 6/13/2008

I stopped by ICI the other day to look around, and didn't think much about the fact that no one offered to help me, since I was just browsing the showroom. I returned again the next day with my husband hoping to speak with someone regarding a planned remodel of my master bathroon. This time, my husband and I looked around for 20 minutes before an employee came out of the back as we were about to leave. He said he would get the owner, who would be able to help us.\r \r When the owner appeared, he basically told us that withount an appointment, we would get no service - he was too busy cleaning up the warehouse. Before we could ask any questions, he told us that all tile orders take several weeks to arrive, because ""we're not Home Depot,"" then he suggested that we visit another tile store store down the street!\r \r Obviously, this man is not interested in providing quality service. His sign says ""Open to the Public"" and there is no sign, inside or out, stating ""Appointment Required."" If there had been, I would have called ahead, As it was, I assumed that a business owner would welcome the opportunity to talk with a new customer, even on a Friday afternoon. On the contrary, he practically ran us off. \r \r If you want to deal with a professional, ICI is not the place for you. more

I am taking time to write this review because I had such an outstanding P.R. with ICI. I am 53 yrs old & had no idea what tile was these days. Steve was extremely helpful, he explained every question I had. He gave my husband numerous pointers on design & even drew a picture of what the shower should look like, so our installer had no problems putting tile in the way we wanted. I tell ya, my husband was tickled pink when we were done. I would definately recommend ICI , they have great prices, helpfull people. We ordered our tile on Friday & recieved it on Tuesday. We were very pleased. more

To the lady ""six2love"", who was unhappy about returning her item....Iam the owner & mgr you spoke with...although your detailed review was pretty true..heres where your story lacked integrity...\r 1.) The shower knitch you bought was returned damaged on the top right & bottom left corners & cannot be re-sold...I guess shoving it between 2x4's didn't work...any professional installer has to ""retro fit"" each knitch. This means you have to reposition studs to fit knitch properly. You guys tried to force it in & thus damaged knitch & tried to return it. This is not Wal-mart.\r 2.) You are right that we do not return anything...(this is on our invoice you get at PURCHASE) What you didn't tell was that ICI is a wholesaler on tile & gives 20-30% off ALL tile everyday...-in return for great pricing to the customer , our policy is no returns....PLUS even if you could return...most tile stores make you pay a 25% restock fee + freight to send it back.\r 3.) 100% of ALL ICI tile takes 2-3 days to get. Timing was not a factor.\r 4.) I did tell you to ""do whatever you want "" w/knitch...because you bought it, damaged it & tried to return it! \r I did tell you our invoice, YOU recieved states NO RETURNS, & yes you did tell me to update our invoice to say ""everything we sell"", is non-returnable...& I did say no, we won't update because the invoice has been clear for the last 13 yrs of customers we have satisfied...You are the only one.\r - Lastly... you never told us "" I am glad I didn't purchase $4000 of tile from you""... but thanks for adding falseness to make the story sound better! (PS You would have only spent $2500 with ICI)\r -BOTTOM LINE is ICI helps everyone & respects everyone...I have been in business for 13 yrs, & do my best to satisfy all.....Sorry you we unhappy, but you get more bee's w/honey :)\r \r more

Lacking customer service 7/3/2007

During the remodeling of our home we visited several tile companies to purchase our tile from. In visiting Innovative Ceramics we met a some helpful people. However, we decided to buy our tile elsewhere do to the time from ordering until delivery and their return policy. They do not allow any returns of excess tiles.\r We did return to Innovative Ceramics to look at shower inset boxes. They had 2 to choose from and we selected one for $85. We were unsure of the space in the shower and asked if it does not fit can we return it. The sales lady in the office said that would be ok. She completed the order and ran our credit card. She gave me a receipt that stated there were no returns on tile or ordered product. Based on her statement that it would be ok to return and that the sales order did not say no returns of in-stock accessories (or a blanket no return of any merchandise policy) I felt confident there would be no issues. As it turned out the box was too big. We took it back and stated we wished to return it. The manager of the store waited on us and said there are absolutely no returns. I reiterated the conversation from the day before and restated that the receipt does not say it was not returnable. He said he did not know why she said that, as well as the sales order said no returns. I suggested they might update that because it actually just says tile. He bluntly said they won't be updating it. He said he is the manager and this is the way it is. He said go ahead and call her when she returns to the office and she will have to figure out what to do. I said that will be fine and I will leave the product there with them. His reply was ""do whatever you want to do"". My husband and I were shocked at his hostility especially when we were addressing it very reasonable and respectful to him.\r As we left I did say that I was glad we purchased our $4000 in tile elsewhere if this their customer service for an $85 item. His response was ""yeah...well"" more
