Hurst Hardwoods

HORRIBLE!!! Do not use Hurst!!! We purchased hardwood for two entire floors of our home. 40% of the product is useless...incorrect sizes, cracked boards, frayed boards etc. Craig is an unethical business owner who not only refuses to take accountability for these problems but is also insulting and rude. He told us that our installer (with 20 years of experience) “doesn’t know what he is talking about” and has been rude and nasty over the phone with us. We have sent dozens of pictures of the damaged and incorrectly sized that he has ignored, and has even hung up the phone on us. Craig has insisted it is our fault that the boards are bad, even though we let the boards acclimate for two months in a brand new (weeks old) HVAC system. I am horrified by the unethical business practices of Hurst. We are pursuing legal action against them, as well as disputing the payment, contacting BBB, FTC, etc... more

I first began buying from Hurst Hardwoods in 2008 for my hardwood flooring business. I have had a very successful relationship and when there is a problem they are responsive and fair. I have bought over 20 floors in 7 years. more

After looking at many sites for my tiger wood, I chose Hurst Hardwood. I just had my installer, install it, and I could not be happier. The floor is awesome. I still have 2 boxes left over. The wood was very good, and is awesome. The price was also comparable to Lumber Liquidators. 5 STARS more

My samples arrived from Hurst Hardwoods today. It was less than a week since I made my request, so I give them high marks for their quick response. I was quite pleased that not only were the sample pieces of nice size, they went to the trouble of sending me two of each specie I requested so that I could get a better idea of color variation within each specie. This was a unexpected yet welcomed surprise as it gave me a better idea of what to expect when trying to find a product that would blend in with other areas of my home. With the different plank widths and thickness, I was able to compare it to some products I was considering locally and I must say, I was quite impressed in this area as well. The sample pieces were beautiful and put my "local" samples to shame, not only with the number of layers (engineered hardwoods) but also the quality of the actual wear layers. I have one last local supplier to compare the Hurst Hardwoods products to and although the cost of shipping will put me over my budget, I am more than willing to hold off on my project to save up for the added cost of shipping if it means I will have this beautiful wood flooring in my home. more

I seldom write reviews though I hardly ever make an online purchase without first reading them about either the item or seller or both. I am currently in the market to purchase flooring for DIY project and having poured over numerous websites over the party several weeks and created lists with regard to pricing, style, quality and service, I decided to contact Hurst Hardwoods. This, however was done with some initial reservation since I'd read several unfavorable reviews. And though I was a bit skeptical, I could not ignore the fact that, based on their website, they appeared to have some very nice looking products. This being the case, I thought I'd write a review detailing each step of the process in hopes of not only buying some great flooring, but also to dispel or prove the negative reviews I read. Phase 1 - INITIAL CONTACT FOR SAMPLES I sent an email to Hurst to request samples, 5 styles to be exact. The very next day, I received a reply from Lee Hurst, acknowledging my request and promising to mail them out ASAP. I also received a reply from Craig Hurst, who indicated he was the owner. And though he was out of town, he too promised to make sure I received my samples. Both Craig and Lee seemed to be pleasant enough- so far, so good. I am now awaiting the arrival of my samples. I will do a followup review once they arrive. more
