Hurless Brothers Foreign Car Service

I havehad many of my BMW's serviced over the years by Hurless Brothers, but, we moved to Seattle 13 years ago and last summer we were passing through Boise on the way to Sun Valley and my 528i developed a strange noise upon acceleration - we stopped by Hurless and asked Todd to listen - bad breather valve - what? Here is where the trust comes in - Anyway he convinced me not to drive on to Sun Valley, but he did not want to interrupt our vacation or let us drive this car to sun Valley and even though they were slammed for the week - he said "" I will figure out a way to work you in today"" - 3 hours of labor and the part was in stock - plus, he let us use a loaner car - warranty fix, but I must say - we have not been to this shop in 13 years and Todd and Brett treated us like we were family - they have always been honest and trustworthy and provided the right fix the first time- all I can ask is, can you move your shop to Seattle??? Thanks, Todd and Brett - we are indebted to your you for not letting car trouble ruin our time in Idaho...you are the best. more

Bret and Todd are the best. I have had both of my BMW's (a 2004 and a 1987) in and the bill was never more than advertised. They even knew about a recall on the 2004 that saved me 1500 dollars in repairs! I can't say enough good things about them! more

They've always been less - they aren't out for revenue like Petersons. Have you seen the sheet of 'recommendations' from Petersons when you go to pickup your car? They try to nickel and dime you for everything. They even complained about the tires on my car not being sold by them!. Improvements: Waiting room a bit cramped but part of the fun!. These are the most honest & trustworthy guys in the car repair business. A woman going to a mechanic is often an opportunity for a shop to fast talk us into spending more than we should. I've been taking my cars to Hurless Brothers for over twenty years and have never been treated with anything but respect. It's the little things; like not billing extra for on the spot fixes and always vacuming my car and washing the windows that bring me back again and again. The care and attention my cars recieve and the savings over the dealer's pricing makes them the only choice for me. Thank you. more

The Hurless Bros. have been in business over 30 years, and are the very best possible choice in Boise for the makes they service. There is usually a long waiting list for repair scheduling, as their shop is relatively small, but there have been plenty of moments where I've had an issue that needed attention right away and they've squeezed me in. They also have good relationships with other shops in the area to take care of overflow, and you can trust their recommendations. I can not imagine them making a mistake in their work, they keep full records of what they do, and their pricing is very fair. I would go to no other mechanic for my BMW if I could avoid it. more

Never even stepped foot in their shop and have had issues. Bought a car from a private seller who had it serviced by Hurless right before the sale. They forgot to put the oil cap back on the car. When the PO contacted hurless they pretty much called me a liar. For a shop who claims to be No 1 yet you can take your car to Jiffy Lube for better service. I get my Bimmers serviced at EuroSport and must say they are amazing. Dont waste your money on this company. I also contacted them for a easy install on a aftermarket part they would not touch it and turned me away. more

I had my timing belt serviced at Hurless on my 1998 Volvo v70 and both Brett and Todd were great. 9,000 miles later however my belt slipped due to a bad tensioner and each intake rod was bent. They worked with me the best they could. Although I felt like the tensioner should have shown some signs of wear requiring replacement at the time of service they said it did not. Due to its failure, it caused an additional 2K+ in damage. Now with that said, I do not feel like they were trying to cover up any poor service or mechanic work. I honestly believe that the tensioner went out without warning. Todd made it as easy on my wallet as he could. Regardless of the time it took to get the car back and the questions on the tensioner, I will still continue to rely on Hurless for any major work on my Volvo. Pros: Knowlegable staff Cons: Tough to get in - everyone wants them to work on their Volvo. more
