Never go to this so called dentist. He and his staff is a rip off. They are rude and just in it for the money. If he does not want you to come back they will start out changing your appointment time the day before. I told him a root canal I had done there was hurting and he would not do anything unless I spent a couple of grand to get some other work done. WARNING DO NOT GO TO HIS OFFICE! SORRY SORRY PLACE! more

This is a business not a dentist he will rob you every way he can. I've filed a BBB compliant for not being told what I was being charged for. The staff is careless and have little respect, I felt like I was a third wheel in the middle of their conversation. I was charged for digital x-rays with out being told that there is a difference. In his response he writes as if he was there and implies that my wife and I are people that do not listen. DO NOT GO THERE!!! more

THIS GUY AND HIS STAFF ARE HORRIBLE PEOPLE. I have never dealt with a more money grubbing, people hating person. My wife had a dental EMERGENCY on Friday. We paid $2300 upfront BEFORE he would even see us. Then he made an appointment for us on Monday. My wife ended up having to have surgery on her mouth on Saturday. We phoned Huffstutler when they opened on Monday to let him know the situation. He then denied to ever see my wife again because we had ""disrespected"" him. We still have not gotten the $2300 back. This man doesn't realize that without patients he has no business. Beware of this greedy doc. more

BEWARE!!!! I was over charged by $660. I asked ""Joey"" to speak with me and the insurance co together and was informed that she doesn't have to do that. I tried to relate to her what the contract said the allowed charges are and what the ins co told me they should be but she became angry and dropped me as a patient. She had also made me pay up front for the work to be done and also for work they ""thought"" may need to be done but didn't need to be done. Now I'm waiting for a refund of the $1,280 they are holding of mine. She will not give me any idea when I can get the refund and said it had to be sent to the CPAs to be sure the funds are there. *! What does that mean?!* After dropping me as a patient and not allowing me to keep the appt for that day she stated she will deduct $50 for the broken appt from the refund. I advised that I did not break the appt..she did. She stated that I had no intentions of keeping the appt. I stated that I would have completed the appt but needed clarification for the charges. She stated that she will not be talked down to and hung up. I too had the problem of them breaking appointments. I was traveling at the time and had to plan my travels around the dental appts. I had explained this to them but still was called and told that there was another patient that needed alot of work done all in one day so I was bumped to another date. I was on my way back to TX from FL for the new appt when I was called and told that the dentist could not make the appt. I don't believe the positive reviews that have been posted. I wonder actually if Steven Huffstutler knows that people are being overcharged or if Joey is doing better financially than one would expect on an office worker salary. Wonder if there are 2 sets of books. The charges she reported to my ins co were the correct charges but what my receipt shows is $660.00 over. The last time I was there I spoke with 2 other patients who stated they felt they were being told to come in for continual procedures and one stated she had noticed that the charges are not in line with the co pays her ins carrier lists on her benefits. I feel slimmed! more

AVOID this 'dentist'. Focus is on what major items he can find in his 'comprehensive' exam, not on the actual thing you visited him for. Do your research, especially with the TX Board. Spent over an hour in the chair to be handed a list of expensive work he determined I needed. I have no complaints regarding the health of my teeth/gums. He couldn't find problem there so he moved to my needed fractures repaired. Again, I have no issues w/my teeth. He did my wife same way. Filing grievance w/our insurance company for starters so they will can start looking into removing him from their approved list. First time in over 46yrs of dealing w/dentist I've seen this open faced method of milking the patient/insurance company. Almost no office traffic. Insurance company changed and had to find dentist on approved list, the only reason he was picked. Never again. more

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT GO TO THIS PIECE OF CRAP PLACE!!!! I WAS SENT A BILL IN THE MAIL FROM A TEETH CLEANING I HAD DONE OVER A YEAR AGO. I HAD PAID $100 FOR ME AND MY HUSBAND TO GET OUR TEETH CLEANED A YEAR AGO, THEN RANDOMLY I GET A BILL FOR $25, AND WAS TOLD IT WAS BECAUSE THEY BILLED WRONG. SCAM, RIP OFF, IDIOTS? WHO KNOWS. RUDE OFFICE STAFF. WHEN I WANTED TO KNOW WHY I WAS BEING BILLED THEY TREATED ME LIKE I WAS STUPID AND TOLD ME I NEED TO PAY AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. BUTTHOLES. I THINK THAT THE ONLY PEOPLE THAT WOULD WRITE SOMETHING POSITIVE WOULD BE THE OFFICE STAFF OR DR. BUTTSTUTLER HIMSELF. more

Great Pain Management 3/29/2012

My wife and I have been going to this office ever since we moved to Ft Worth (8yrs). I have never had any dental work done until I had to have a root canal. I was terrified of the pain and made it know to the dentist. I asked him to numb the heck out of me so I didn't feel anything, He did so, and I never felt ANY pain, even after the repair, and that was 4 yrs ago. I recently had the Zoom whitening and I was told up front that there would be some sensitivity, and they sent home some products for the sensitivity in case i needed them. I didn't feel any sensitivity until after I left. I got home and took Tylenol and Motrin and within an hour all was gone. I have since used the at home bleaching trays they sent home with me. I have had a little sensitivity with those as well, but it does go away. I think the sensitivity will just be person to person based. If you are generally sensitive then this might make you more sensitive for a while. All in all, this office is great. I have never had a problem with the staff, hygienist, or doctor. more

Shocked at the level of carelessness 12/16/2010

I have never written a negative review in my life, but I could not stand by and keep quiet after my experience at Dr. Huffstutler's office. I was treated very coldly, and carelessly by the staff, and then after I experienced pain, I was denied treatment. I am happy to go somewhere else and I will report my experiences to the local and state dentistry boards. I have very healthy teeth and take pride in them. They have been sensitive all of my life, and we discussed this sensitivity in depth. I have had 3 fillings and never had any pain with standard Novocain. I did not go in to the office with any problems. After pressuring me to agree to a questionable amount of suggested work on my teeth and assuring me that I was a good candidate for Zoom whitening, I went in the day after my initial exam. Again, I mentioned to the hygienist that I was worried about the Zoom being very painful on my sensitive teeth. She dismissed my fears and set me up. After 15 minutes of ultraviolet light and peroxide gel on my teeth, I was overcome by the most intense nerve pain I have ever had. The pain was so bad I was sobbing. I was unable to complete even 1/3 of the procedure. The Hygienist acted cold toward me and as if I was neurotic, imagining my pain. After this experience, Dr. Huffstutler said that he would not do my general dental work because of my ""special sensitivity"" and that I needed to be sedated (another 700$) for him to complete the work the next day. I questioned this conditional, because I have had very successful, pain free dental work (deep and shallow fillings) done with Novocain only, but I agreed to go ahead and get it over with, since it would be tomorrow. No one spoke to me about how this sedation was going to happen. A girl called me to get a pharmacy number so they could call in my medication for sedation. I asked her how she knew how much to give me and if it would interact with my daily medications. I told her what they were and she told me she would call me back with the information after she called in my prescription. The next day no one had called, so I had to call back to remind the office about my daily medication. Judy answered the phone and asked me again, ""what is your medication? And what is it for?"" I told her again. She then told me the doctor was busy but he would find out later. I researched the medications they were going to use to sedate me, and when used properly, they do not interact with my daily medication. I was surprised when Judy called back and told me that Dr. Huffstutler has decided that he won?t do my dental work because the medication he would use for oral sedation ?would not work on me? and that I need to find a specialist to do IV dentistry. I asked for a recommendation and she told me to ?call my insurance?. I don?t need sedation or IV dentistry at all?these suggestions and decisions are excessive and preposterous. I was treated carelessly and as if I was too much of a problem to deal with. more

BEST DENTIST IN FT. WORTH 5/27/2010

If you are in need of a GREAT, not just good dentist, then just go see Dr. Steven Huffstutler! I have never had such a positive experience with something I dread so much! The staff is great and jokes around with you to put you at ease, and the doctor is wonderful! There prices are very reasonable. I just paid $750.00 for a crown in Dr. Huffstutler's office and in Dallas, at a dentist I was referred to, the cost was almost $1500 for the exact same thing. They gave me a discount because I didn't have insurance. How nice!! I will never go any where else. Thank you Dr. Huffstutler!!!!!!!! Pros: Fast appointments and painless Cons: None I can think of more
