furniture purchase 2/8/2012

We needed a reclining chair, searched the web in the Tampa area & came up with a list of several stores, one of which was Hudson's Furn. We were greeted right away by Julien, very personable & was helpful. We found a chair, made the purchase, which was all quick & easy. The chair is white & Julien assured us he wd wrap the chair for transport, which we knew we were responsible for as we bought a floor sample, we also knew he wd not be there the day we p/u the chair. We arrived to p/u chair, of course it was not wrapped, the salesman that helped us was not happy, but was very helpful to us, right to the point of assisting us get the chair on the truck, I dnk his name but give him 5 stars. But we wd shop again at Hudson's overall. more

Their marketing company is famous for doing tricks like this to get the reviews better. It's really simple, treat the customer right and you will get honest reviews. more

Buy At Hudson's!! 5/24/2011

My boyfriend and I just got a place together and decided that we needed new furniture because ours didn't match and was old. The showroom service was awesome we found exactly what we were looking for at an amazingly low price, they always have a sale going on for competition. The salesperson was very nice, helpful, and patient with our beginner-like questions and concerns. Delivery was on time and the whole process was smooth. Thank you Hudson's for making our new home beautiful and we'll only go here from now on! more

JUST THE BEST!! 5/20/2011

My Husband and I went to Hudson’s Furniture a week ago for the first time and met a nice Sales Associate there. We went back the following week and the same Sales Associate was working and remembered us! He was extremely kind, helpful and VERY patient and explained their guarantees thoroughly! After visiting other furniture stores, we ended up finding everything we needed at Hudson’s Furniture! We got an entire Bedroom set and Living room set for a GREAT price, better than any of their competitors. Once we went to purchase the furniture, the Store Manager took time to see how my experience was at Hudson’s Furniture; I explained to the Manager, that the showroom service was exceptional. When it came to delivery, John called me to let me know the exact time he planned on arriving. They delivered it promptly! They even took my old sofa away! It was just great! I will definitely be back to shop Hudson’s Furniture again!!! more

Very Satisfied! 5/20/2011

I special ordered a red leather sofa out of their normal delivery area (I live in the sticks!). I paid them the required 50% deposit for order and the blance was paid the day I was delivered. My experience was completely satisfactory and pleasant. The sofa quality was just as promised and delivered within the time frame given to me when I purchased it. I could not ask for more. I highly recommend this company. more

Hudson’s Furniture, Tampa Bay area We bought a leather chair on sale but they did not have the color we wanted. The salesman said they could order it, so we did. I didn’t sign anything, but they did take my credit card. 3 to 6 weeks was stated on a “special orders” page they gave us. My next credit card statement indicated that they billed the entire amount. I called and informed them that we had no chair and I do not pay for things that are not delivered. They insisted upon ½ and credited ½. After 3 weeks, I called and the salesman stated the chair would be available in the first week of January. That would be about a total of 6 weeks. Told them I needed it before January 22nd as out-of-town guests were arriving. I called in that 1st week of January and our salesman quit. The manager had taken over his accounts. Manager told me it would be 10 days. I told him I had to have it before the 22nd and this target was now at the 15th. He said he would attempt to expedite deliver and will call me. Never called. I called again and was now told the 19th. I told him I needed it before the 22nd (again) and the 19th was close to 8 weeks from order. He repeated that he would try to expedite it and would call me. Never called, again. I called a few more times and although the 19th was repeated, no effort was expended to be sure I received the chair before the 22nd. I called the manager on the 19th and he told me the chair would be delivered on January 26th. That date would be 2 days shy of 9 weeks. I stated unacceptable and I was cancelling the chair. “You can’t cancel. This is a special order.” He was rude and demanding. I told him several times that I was cancelling the order. I called my credit card company to dispute the charges and had to run out to buy an in stock chair at full price that same day from a different furniture company. When I arrived home, I had a message from the Hudson’s manager telling me that they can deliver the chair on the 22nd. I had to call him again to inform him that I cancelled that chair. “That is not an option,” he told me. I explained that no matter what his policy was, my policy is that I do not buy something with an infinite delivery date. If I had agreed to the 22nd delivery, I highly doubt that I would have received it anyway. I informed him that I had purchased another chair from someone else. Hudson’s warehouse called a bit later attempting to schedule delivery for the 22nd. I explained that I cancelled the order. I received one more call from the manager after that with a level of demand and rudeness that sealed his fate. While my credit card company was working on a charge-back on the 50% deposit, the manager decided to bill my credit card the other 50% that had credited earlier. I had nothing but fast and empty promises, no effort, no understanding, no courtesy and no chair, but I did have the full $900charge on my credit card which I have concluded was the fee for having Hudson treat me with rudeness and gall. That was the sleaziest attempt at retaining a customer that I had ever witnessed. My credit card company forced a charge-back as the law demands. more

Was it the month long wait for delivery? Maybe it was the completely botched delivery set-up process. It could have been the manager's attitude when I returned the broken pieces to the store. His response was ""We moved over 7000 pieces last month and 90% of those were fine."" So when I said that I was just lucky to be in the losing 10% he just shrugged. I didn't do the math quick enough, but by his estimation, 700 people got screwed by Hudson Furniture last month and they're OK with that. When the repair company finally called me the repairman told me ""I'm not coming out there just for you."" I live fifteen minutes from the store. I had to reschedule to meet the repairman's schedule and take time off from work to be here. When he got here he put it back together WRONG. Now I have to schedule another appointment and take more time off from work, again. Did I mention that the bed that I bought is constructed like it came from IKEA? And that's insulting to IKEA in this case. I tried to speak to the manager Bob, he's off on Tuesday's and apparently he leaves early every other day of the week. It's been two weeks and I'm still waiting to talk to him. more

Do not buy anything from Hudsons furniture 2/24/2009

Do not buy anything from Hudsons or Berkline furniture.‎ - ken‎ - Today\r Purchased a Berkline electric reclining couch from Hudsons in October of 2008 for $5000. When it arrived 2 out of the 4 recliners were broken and 2 of them had tears in the leather. I offered to pay Hudsons $500 to take back this lemon, and I would buy another couch off their showroom floor if they would take back the couch they just delivered. Hudsons said no way your stuck with it but we will fix it. Well it is now Feb 24th 2009 and its still not fixed and Hudsons and the repair company they use (Total Leather Care) are pointing the finger at each other and I still have a broken couch. Avoid Hudsons at all cost. They have no integrity at all. Burkline is no better as they say, ""we are just the manufacturer you have to deal with Hudsons. But we have had a lot of complaints about Hudsons. They commonly lie to customers just to get a sale"". Cons: don't give a dam about customers after the sale more

The worst customer service in the world !!!!!! 5/12/2008

Hudson does nothing for you after the sale. Oh wait, they will write you off make excuses and just try to wear you down so you will give up and live with a defective $3000 product. Yes i did buy the extended warranty. Still no help to be found\r \r I think your better of at Rooms to Go and pay less and expect less, rather then pay more and get zip.\r \r Don't buy from them. Cons: the worst service and service personnel in the world, bar none more
