Gentleman in the middle office made little effort to explain to me how to wire money to another account and once he checked my balance and saw i wasnt one of his BH million dollar customers suggested ""may HSBC isnt the best bank for you""... Apart from that they offer no option to wire money online and to send money from you account to another you need to go through a huge hassle on the phone and then FAX , yes FAX in todays modern age (who has a fax anymore unless you work in another bank)...a confirmation slip. Boring. I banked with HSBC in the UK for 15 yrs. Amazing service and without the criminal attempts to steal your money in small increments like every other american bank but HSBC is like any bank of america- but with only two branches and none of the things you would expect from a private account in 2010. I suggest you do as i do and take 40 minutes to drive downtown to the china town branch where the staff is very very friendly and will go out of their way to make things work.... more

I moved to LA from the northeast, where I loved my HSBC service, but I have to say this particular branch in Beverly Hills is AWFUL! There are never enough tellers at peak hours, and their customer service is appalling. Not to mention it's almost impossible to get someone on the phone. If it weren't for the fact that my options for branches near me are between this and downtown LA, I would never use this bank. I'm quickly planning on switching to Bank of America, it seems to be the better choice for LA. more

This bank use to be good until they made some big changes. Don't expect to get ahold of anyone at the bank unless you are in private banking. They won't even direct you to someone on their number, they tell you to call their 877 # which is no help. And don't have this bank if you also live in or travel to a state that does not have a branch there because your not going to get any help. If you can't go into a bank to fix it your in trouble.\r If I didn't have this bank for my personal and business for the last 15 yrs I would go to another bank. I would think twice about getting a account here. Pros: If your near the bank, it great to go to because there is no line. Cons: You can't move or travel and know that you can get help if you need it. more

Excellent customer service, no hassles with any transaction. Parking easy. Hours great. Highly recommended over any other bank - period! Only downside is that there are not enough HSBC's here in California. Pros: Customer Service, Fees, Convenience, Hassel Free Cons: Not enough banks in California! more
