For the past couple of years I had been flying to New York to Arrojo Studios to have my hair done by Nick Arrojo. (From TLC's What Not To Wear) I thought it was going to be a major challenge to find anyone that could come close to his skills & talent locally. I WAS WRONG! I was referred to KAMI DORMAN by a friend. I showed her a photo of what I wanted & she completed the style BETTER than I had expected!!! I was so thankful for her expertise & skillful eye. I will continue to see Kami regularly. She has a bubbly personality & it makes you feel like you have known her for years! I look forward to my appointments with her, & know I wont be disappointed when I leave. more

I love love love Hot Shots! I recommend seeing Kami. I have been going to Kami for 5 years now and I have never been disappointed! I always walk in and say, "do whatever; I totally trust you." I have had my hair super short and also long. Every time I leave I have an amazing and cute haircut. I have been asked numerous times where I get my hair done. I have been going to Hot Shots since I moved to NorCal over 5 years ago. I tried several salons in the Vacaville area that were horrible... however this is NOT the case with Hot Shots. My stylist has been Kami Dorman... and I simply can't imagine letting anyone else touch my hair. She is amazingly talented and creative! And she's got a great eye for what style looks good on her clients. Not to mention she is an absolute JOY to visit with while there. I am constantly stopped by people asking me where I get my hair done and have had the opportunity to send MANY clients to Kami because of her expertise. Kami has always given me great cuts. I have been her client for over 5 years. I trust her creativity and talent so much I let her decide how to cut my hair. When I decided to give color a try she did a fantastic job of making subtle changes that brightened my look without being shocking. Now I'm hooked! how much fun is a complete color change that looks like you're born with it! Kami's very creative, talented and really gets to know her clients. I leave Hot Shots feeling great everytime. The shop is unique and artistic. There is always a smiling face ready to help you with makeup and other Aveda products. Hot SHots is a great salon with personality and style Pros: No one cuts and colors like Kami more

Do not book with Kami (hairstylist). She is a sloppy colorist & poor hairstylist. Her techniques include: parting large sections of hair to color to save her time & makes your roots show faster in some areas over others, applies color cross ways rather than the way the hair grows to also save time--very sloppy technique. She does not know how to layer long hair & cut one side of my hair in front 4" shorter than the other side, I now have to wait for it to grow out. She is not creative nor gives you any ideas of what would like good on you. After 3 appointmts & having to come home & fix my hair so it wouldn't look so frizzy & now go to Strands in Sacramento. They are so much better & the salon looks like a salon & not an autobody shop. HotShots is so tacky. Do not book w/ this operator, you will be dissappointed. After a long search for a salon in our area, I found Hot Shots! I love the Aveda products, but most of all the personalized service and attention to detail is what keeps me coming back. You are offered tea or water upon arrival and best of all you get a hand massage while processing. My hair has never been in better shape or looked more gorgeous! The usual trip to San Francisco to go to my fave Aveda Salon took an unexpected twist when I was told about Hot Shots, an Aveda salon in Vacaville. After some checking around, I found out the stylists were required to keep up on their training in order to work for an Aveda Salon. This was the same exact training that the stylists in San Francisco and New York have and the Hot Shots staff even attend classes with the stylists in these other cities! I was even more exctied not to have to pay the $250 for a cut and color and walk out with the same services for only $90. I got a complimentary hand massage, herbal tea and friendly treatment. All this international glam and only 20 minutes from my home in Green Valley! Pros: Up to Date Training, Friendly, Close to Home more
