I saw Dr. Horan for a dislocated shoulder and recently a broken leg. I received excellent service and Dr. Horan was great to talk with and I felt like he took the time to understand my problem, explain it to me, and provide me with the best possible result.
For my shoulder I saw two other doctors before Dr. Horan. The first felt I needed surgery with little questions asked, I felt I was viewed as more of a walking $ than a patient, the second said I didn't need surgery and to simply ""let it heal on its own"" then if it dislocates again to have surgery, I almost laughed in the doctors face at the notion of going through rehab twice and losing the use of my shoulder for such a long time, not to mention never felling confident it fully healed. In sports confidence is a huge factor. As you can imaging I was confused after those two drastically different diagnoses so I saw Dr. Horan as he was recommended by a colleague. He took more time than the first two doctors combined to explain my options, treatments, and fully answered all of my questions. If your doctor doesn't do this then walk away, its the least they can do for a life changing surgery that costs thousands.
I had the surgery and went through rehab and my shoulder is rock solid, I lost a tiny bit of mobility but only in extreme positions I only reach when stretching. I am very happy with the result.
About the only negative is wait times are sometimes long for office visits, and getting an appointment can be weeks out as other reviews have mentioned. HELLO PEOPLE, this should be a #1 indicator that this is an awesome in demand doctor, if he were bad you would not have to wait 2-4 weeks for an appointment! So even though it sucks to wait, wouldn't you rather wait and have the best doctor around than to see someone who is desperate for patients? I know I would.
