Continued great service 1/10/2014

I realized at the right before the holidays that I needed routine maintenance and a few little fixes for my CRV. Of course, so did everyone else in Greater Boston! But, the folks at Hondar House were able to get me in before my road trip, and fix some larger issues I didn't notice. They're great! more

They were on the expensive side, but didn't try to extract extra work from the job. I felt like they had little time to answer my questions or give explanations. I was hoping to learn more about the maintenance they did, and which maintenance was important versus just heresay (i.e. do you need your injectors cleaned?), but they weren't patient with their explanations. The office was quite crowded when I was asking, so perhaps that is why. When calling for a quote on a job they were also impatient with the idea that I would call multiple shops to get an idea for what prices in the area are. After my repair the wiring to my dashboard came loose so I lost my speedometer and power steering. The jobs I did ask for seemed to have been executed well, although maybe rushed because of the sloppy clean up in the wiring. more

Friendly and Confident 1/7/2014

What impressed me most was the confidence of the people at Hondar House. My car started having problems while I was visiting a friend in Boston and I was supposed to drive 3 hours on the highway to return home. The people at Hondar House took my car in the very next day and worked on it in the morning so that I was home by the evening. I felt completely taken care of and SAFE getting into my car to drive on the highway for 3 hours. more

Saved My Butt 12/23/2013

Had a screw lodged in one of my tires. In pursuit of a fix, I called no fewer than four auto/tire repair joints on 12/23. Everyone was backed up and wouldn't take me (I even left work to get to Goodyear, who told me they would take me, but then proceeded to tell me they wouldn't repair or replace my tire). On a whim and back from a disappointing trip to Goodyear, I stopped at Hondar, who took my car in, chatted with me, fixed a brakelight I didn't know was out, and plugged my tire. The service tech also checked my coolant levels when I asked and also went in depth to explain to me what he was doing and why: it was obvious he loved cars and loved talking about them. After a series of disappointments and bad customer service elsewhere, Hondar pulled through on a busy day right before the holidays. I will make Hondar my first stop from now on. more

I have been taking my 2005 Honda Civic to Hondar since moving to Cambridge in 2008 and am happy with the service I receive there. They take their work seriously and it's obviously important to them to do a good job. And I'm lucky - I live in the neighborhood! more

Personal attention, quality work, they stick by their work. Occasionally, I've thought I had a problem after I left. I went back and they took it seriously and sorted it out. PLUS they support nonprofit organizations in the neighborhood. This means A LOT to me. more

Professional work done promptly 11/8/2013

My last two visits were mixed, after several superb visits. The planned work was done early, to fit my schedule, which was good, but twice in a row, loose attachment of new front stabilizer strut bolts required that the car be brought back for bolt tightening. No harm was done to the car, and the rework done without fuss and with apologies. Stuff happens, I'll be back. more
