Heinrich's Decorating Nook

I have been shopping at Heinrich's since they were on Gratiot, south of 6 mile (about 35 years ago). They have always been professional, helpful and courteous. I know a lot of people that shop there and maybe, just maybe, Jane B was having an "off day" when she shopped there. They have always had the most variety of any cake and candy store I have shopped at, and will help you find it if they don't have it. I only wish that they were closer to my home in St. Clair Shores. more

I only used Heinrich's twice- for help with my son's graduation cake and decorating-but they had a myriad of choices, the photo-image topper I ordered was perfect and easy for the non-baker/decorator(that would be me)to use and they answered all my questions. The variable might have been that I was able to go mid-week, early in the day, so they were not crowded at all. I'm heading there now for christmas goodies!! more

They are so rotten here. Yes they have a lot of product but I'm driving out to Miles on Gratiot or Sarah's on John R for my decorating supplies. I've been going Heinrichs for years and I just won't tolerate their uncaring, crappy attitude any more. After questioning the cashier I came to find out that it's the owner has the "too bad, sorry about your luck, we're going to charge you double" attitude. (So charge double for that you cow!)\r \r I go there in a good mood, thinking about this wonderful cake I'm going to make for my kids first birthday and they just ruin it for me. I think "Jane B" has her facts slightly skewed. I know for a fact there is no "designated person" for ANY area in the store other than the register, and that changes from day to day. Although some of the girls there do bring in specific items, (that they MAKE on their own time) such as painted wafer sheets, or some of the wedding cake topper items, anybody there has always been able to help me. \r \r I have never in my life seen anybody not be helped while they were there, unless they were being rude and talking on their cell phone.\r All the girls who work there are very nice, and if Heinrich's doesn't have it, (which is very rare, unless it's discontinued, or a very obscure item) they are more than willing to help you find a store that does.\r The prices there are very reasonable, even compared to some bulk food stores, and they have a multitude of different items.\r Some of the items include:\r Chocolate in white, dark, milk, and also colored white chocolate in a rainbow of colors, many d more

This is a great place to shop for all your cake/baking decorating needs. They have pretty much everything you can think of and prices are great. We do a lot of Christmas baking every year and get everything we need there. They offer recipes as well and they are just wonderful. more

I stopped in this store a couple times to get cake carriers and extract and I always find the items okay on my own, but the one time that I actually did need help, I got none. Since it was around noon and the store was a little crowded, I decided to come back the next day. I returned and asked for help with a specific item and if I didnt know any better I would have thought that I was asking the most complicated thing every requested in retail history. The sales person was specific designated for this area but she had the worst attitude as if I had pulled her away from her normal job. I was not exactly sure why she was being so unreasonable and unfriendly but she did not make me feel anything but plain unhappiest. I was so unhappy that I did not want to buy anything from the store. I am willing to pay more and drive further to other places than to be treated like that again.
