CK is super friendly and super talented; a rare combination and one that should be highly praised. My hair turned out great, the cut and color are both terrific and CK's happy, easy-going, helpful demeanor added that extra bit of icing to the cake. He might just be the nicest person I've ever met! CK at Hedonism Salon and Day Spa is amazing. He has done my hair for a couple years now and it has come out beautiful every time. I was in need of finding a new salon moving from New York to LA so I thought I would give CK a chance. I have NEVER had someone spend so much time cutting my hair. He's very thorough, detailed and sweet! My hair hasn't been this great and easy to style in a LONG time. He also provided me with tools and tips on how to best care for my hair without trying to sell me anything. My hair looked so good when he was finished, I had tears in my eyes!!! I did the same thing you do .... reading reviews......and i'm glad i did. I just got my hair done today...AND I LOVE IT!! CK is THE BEST. He has a great personality, very patient, passionate and really took time to study my hair. Not only he showed me how to get the same look that i get from the salon, he gave me notes of how to get it done at home. CK is highly skilled and talented. The dreamy atmosphere, soft music and friendly staff make Hedonism a really relaxing experience. I was treated by CK and the hype is real. He's everything they say he is. He's creative, sweet, patient and skilled. He performed an amazing massage on my scalp during the shampooing and really took time studying my hair and head to give me the best look possible. And it keeps looking great as it grows out. The experience was so positive I started bringing my kids to Hedonism and it turns out CK loves doing kids hair too. Now we all get our hair cut by CK. This is definitely my salon for life. more

I met CK a year ago while getting my hair done at Paul Mitchell the School in Costa Mesa, CA. I knew from the moment I met CK, that he was very special and very talented. He always listens to ideas you have about your hair; and although he follows the Paul Mitchell techniques, he has a certain style all his own. CK is very creative and he has the gift of looking at someone and giving them the exact services to make them look and feel their best. When I get my hair done, I not only get educated, but I learn how I can recreate my salon-look at home. I took his advice and my hair has never looked or felt healthier. I will continue to follow CK to salons wherever he goes. more

I went to Hedonism this past saturday because I wanted to change my hair color for the new year. I was blonde when I went in and dark brown with caramel highlights when I left. I saw their myspace ad and wanted to check it out. I met with a stylist by the name of Tony. He gave me suggestions on what type of dark brown would look better with my facial features which really helped me out a lot. I chose to go to the salon because the other salons that I have gone to, the hairstylists dont seem to know exactly what I want. I wanted someone who was more my age so that they could relate to what I was looking for. I also brought in my bf for a hair cut and he did his hair cut while my dye was setting in. He really took his time which I really appreciated because most other places that I have gone try to rush everything so that they can get more customers. But he treated us really great by offering us something to drink and something to snack on. It was a very big place that had different areas for cutting, washing, coloring, manicures, pedicures and massages which I thought was pretty cool. Tony seemed to really know what he was doing and I will be going back to him from now on. I finally found a great hairstylist. more

I saw reviews about this salon before and decided to try it out for myself... and let me tell you I am so glad that I did! When I first entered I was greeted by one of the sweetest receptionist I've ever meet in a salon before (I'm more accustomed to the type that tell you they don't allow walk-ins) and well being that I had no appointment she gladly let me wait (for barely 5 minutes I kid you not) and I was amazed at all the super top of the line amenities not to mention the HAIR PRODUCTS!!! I was escorted to Cristina's station where we discussed what to do with my hair fiasco. She was super helpful and sweet and I entrusted in her knowledge of hair to basically give me the works. I mean I had been working so hard, and I don't even remember the last time I got a haircut... let alone the FULL treatment. So I went ahead and got it all! She gave me the cut and color I've always wanted but for some reason could never achieve, and the icing on the cake was the full premium European hair extensions to go with my new do!!!! I love love love my hair to death!!! In fact, I went home and my fiance couldn't even recognize me... they were so natural!!! He thought I was just going in for a haircut, but I came back a completely different woman!!! I've haven't felt this good in such a long time... and I owe it all to my super top notch hair stylist CRISTINA!!! Seriously I've never had such a great experience than the one she gave me that day!!! Not only was her work the best I've ever seen... she was super sweet, asked a bunch of questions rather than just chopping my hair away... and was so easy to talk to!!!! It was basically the best of the best and now I know who I can and will ALWAYS go to -- CRISTINA!!! So... if you just happen to be in the neighborhood, and you're looking to change your whole look... or even just a minor trim... she's the girl to go to!!!!! Trust me... you'll thank me later!!!!! I returned to Santa Monica after 30 years in New York City and decided to try Hedonism based on other reviews I read on this site. I am so glad that I did. I got lucky my first time out being assigned to Michael, who is easy to work with, listens to your needs and quirks, and who has given me some great haircuts. There's a good reason the salon's name is Hedonism - the shampoo and head massage that they give is FABULOUS - even your toes tingle. This is a comfortable and professional salon, where you'll feel good while you're there and look good when you leave, Pros: Nice atmosphere, parking in back, on time for appointments, friendly staff Cons: Can't think of any more

I read all the exceptional reviews about Hedonism and the great qulaity of sevice and of course the actual hair styling. Since it was my first time there I didn't know who to go to so the receptionist set me up with CK, and thank god she did because I really got lucky. I have been literally going to so many different places to find a consistent stylist to go to and now I can finally stop my search. CK was extremely attentive and generally cared about the look I was going for. I've gone to normal guy barbers and other 'stylists' but none of them gave the attention to detail and skill that CK did. He knew exactly what I wanted and delivered and to top it off he gave me great advice on how to style and maintain the look. No other stylist gave as much attention to detail and care than CK. You must give him a try. Not only all of that but CK is a great conversationalist who makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Go see CK! Hedonism is a gorgeous salon and the customer service there is fantastic. The staff are friendly and inviting and are fanatastic at what they do. The 3 levels of prices (depending on what type of stylist you want to see) is a great idea making a fantastic experience available to almost anyone. I recently went in for the first time and saw CK who has fantastic training from Paul Mitchell The School and turned my poor excuse for a hair style into something gorgeous. Also, he explained what he was doing and gave me fantastic tips on how to keep my hair healthy. I don't know about the other stylists, but if they're anything like CK you can't lose! My friend recommended the Hedonism salon to me and said "whatever you do ? see CK!" This is a really nice salon and day spa. It?s just a couple of blocks from 3rd Street Promenade (6th/Santa Monica Blvd.). Inside, the salon/spa is beautiful ? very large and relaxing. From the minute I walked in, everyone on the staff I met was friendly and professional. I was offered something to eat and drink, and the front desk staff introduced me to my ?hair artist? CK. The title made me a little skeptical, but I knew I was in good hands right away. He started by asking me what I wanted and what I liked and if I had any particular issues with my hair he should address. Then, after the best shampoo I?ve ever had (complete with neck massage and hot towels), he went to work. I?m always a little nervous when I get a haircut ? especially from a new stylist - but CK was so confident in his work that it gave me confidence, too! He took his time and colored and styled my hair exactly as we had discussed. The best part is, my hair has kept the nice look and style as it grows out ? it just keeps looking better! But even better was the color - this man knows color. He colored the gray and put in beautiful highlights ? and my hair was still so shiny even after the color was done. I?ve had my hair cut in salons all over LA (including Beverly Hills), but CK is a real find. It is nearly impossible to find a stylist who can both cut and color. There are other stylists there who I am sure are good, but if you want guaranteed great service and style, my friend was right? see CK! I would recommend CK, my stylist at Hedonism, to any one of my friends. I know that getting a haircut can be very scary. I usually go to a Paul Mitchell Salon in San Diego, but because I am away at college I needed to find a salon where I can get my haircut. My stylist back home recommended finding a Paul Mitchell salon in the area. I went out on a limb and I did. Had I let my hair grow out and waited to go home to get my hair cut, I would have never been able to meet CK, receive the best haircut, or be introduced to a fabulous new salon. My experience was incredible. The minute I walked in the ladies raved about CK and what a great hair artist he was. I sat down and for the next two hours felt more pampered than ever before. They offered me chocolate, cheese, and crackers... what could be better? The haircut was phenomenal and I am very picky when it comes to my hair. Trust me, I know a good haircut when I see one. CK talked me through my new style and after he was done explained how to maintain and style my new hair. During my time at Hedonism I even got to watch the latest hair show that went down in Vegas and CK was in it! I would go as far as to say that I have found my new favorite salon and will be driving back to Santa Monica to get my haircut from wherever I might be even after I graduate. The best haircut experience yet! From the moment I walked in I was in heaven. Cristina, my stylist was awesome. She gave me a tour of the salon and then offered me a choice of drink and returned with a glass of wine, cheese and crackers. Then she worked her magical fingers while shampooing my hair and gave me the best massage ever. She then colored and cut my hair exactly the way I wanted it. Cristina rocks! more

I just had the best damn haircut experience! I went to this salon after reading the reviews here on citysearch and was not disapointed!! I called for the first available apointment and got in with Christina the next day. I showed up and the front desk offered me a me a refreshment while I waited for Christina to come and get me, I asked em what they had and to my great delight they had New Castle, one of my favorite beers! I kicked it on the comfy leather sofa and enjoyed my free beer (Oh they had guy magazines mixed in with all the usual girly salon mags so I actually had something to read other than "Britney's Baby Shocker!" or "100 ways to tell he is cheating...") Christina came up and gave me the salon tour, this place lived up to the raves below. She gave me a killer shampo with Tea Tree oil that was amazing. I have pretty basic hair and usually keep the same style but I let her work her magic on me and I was very impressed! My hair looks great! She showed me how to style it and made sure I had the right hair stuff before I left. All in all I will definatly be back to Hedonism it was Great!
