i too was recommended by a friend to the beautiful hedonism. every second of my visits have been amazing. i was pampered from the moment i entered the door. i am extremely picky when it comes to my hair, as we all are. Sarah, my stylist, listened to my every wish and created a color pattern that could not have made me happier. In addition, she put in keratip extensions down to the middle of my back that are simply amazing. sarah is a perfectionist and it is clear through her work. she will not stop working on your head until you are completely satisfiend and she is proud of her work. in addition, sarah was incredibly friendly, easy to talk to and certainly passionate about her work as a stylist. her prices were extremely reasonable and i have had nothing but compliments on her work. if you are thinking about trying out extensions i highly recommend sarah to work on your head. i now travel from new york for any touch ups. try it out! Update on 3/9: my husband & I have found a fantastic salon near Bev Ctr. -- great value, fab owner/staff, couldn't be happier!!! _____ My husband and I both have a different reaction to services at this salon. My experience was great! The receptionist helped me secure a last minute appointment when my usual salon double-booked my appointment and tried to cancel me at the last minute. the moment I walked in I was treated like royalty! I was offered wine & cheese, given a scalp massage during the shampoo, a hand massage while waiting for the conditioner to be rinsed out of my hair, and a spectacular hair style from Andy, one of their senior hair designers. I walked in a bundle of stress and walked out as relaxed as could be. I was so thrilled with the service that I suggested my husband go there to get his hair cut (we haven't had much luck with stylists lately). I made his appointment and we were called twice by the salon to confirm his appointment (scheduled for a Saturday morning at 10am when they open). Unfortunately, the stylist that was assigned to my husband never showed up (she wasn't even in the salon when I went back 45 minutes later). Even though the owner personally took care of my husband's hair cut (we waited about 5 -- 7 minutes past his appointment time, which wasn't too bad) and charged him accordingly, he was not too thrilled about the lack of courtesy towards him as the client. He feels that if he is going to get a reminder call the day before his appointment the scheduled stylist should definitely be there when she arrives for his appointment. I completely agree! I felt my own experience was worth every penny, but my husband doesn't know if he wants to pay someone upwards of $65 dollars to be kept waiting or to have the stylist not show up at all. This is a fairly new salon and we both think it has great potential. However, if they can't get the staff to show up on time the business will have very few returning clients. I wandered a couple blocks off the promenade and found this AMAZING salon. Very friendly people and super relaxing atmosphere. It was so peaceful I almost fell asleep in the chair while getting my haircut --- which was by far the best I've ever had. I'll definitely be coming back! I got rubbed, scrubbed, blown and nailed! It was the tour of Hedonism, or as i call it, It was my escape to Hedonism. I started with a massage from Dawn which left me melting into the sheets. drool? yes. Next, a facial from Sonya. I am deathly against someone touching my face but she did wonders! Gentle, relaxing, soothing, aromatic...you just have to do it, there are no words to describe it to do it justice! Let's just say I really glowed when i left. Out of the spa and into the salon! I got my nails done with a fabulous hand exfolient/massage included. The scrub smelled so good i could have liked the sugariness off! I ended the day with Gea, the miracle worker. Scalp massage (they really like massages here, if you don't like to feel good every step of the way this salon is not for you) *sigh* scalp massage....so stimulating. I think my IQ just went up. Then my blown out fabulous hair. If I could hire her to do my hair everyday my life would be complete. Just when i thought things couldn't get better, I get a free shirt! Does this experience ever end??? There were also many perks to be offered: wine, mimosas, beer, cheese and crackers, cookies, water, iced coffee, they will even order food in for you. Price: Complimentary Now that's a great deal! The staff was pleasant, everyone said "hello", the salon is GORGEOUS! The only downfall? I didn't have any plans after to show off my look! I am the very busy mom of a 14 yr. old drama queen extraordinare! Everything is a crisis with this girl and she is constantly pushing the envelope. When she told me that she wanted to cut her almost waist-length curly hair into a radical punk style I was shaking in my shoes, this is the kind of thing that is great for the shock value for a couple of days and then it would be tears and 'why, did you let me do it' a total no win situation for me. AND there was no talking her out of it. So, I took her into Hedonism and let her sit down with the owner Michelle and discuss hairstyles and colors(another time). Michelle took the time to explain what would and wouldn't work and actually helped her choose a style that while cutting edge, wouldn't give her father a heart attack. The result was amazing...it opened up her face and showed off her beautiful eyes. It was a very flattering style, keeping most of the length, but still very modern and it can be styled goth or punk or flavor of the day. But the best thing is that SHE absolutely loved it. Michelle showed/told her how to style it herself and gave her a couple of ideas. She left happy, planning her new MY SPACE pictures. We are considering a permanent straightening process, but for sure the next time we stop in one of Michelle's multitalented stylists will add some color for her and maybe I can get Michelle to give me a new style too!!! When I walked into the salon I was a little overwhelmed, the place is so beautiful. I was quickly put at ease because every one was so nice and genuine. After I was given a tour I was offered several different types of drinks and snacks. They even offered me wine!!! How awesome is that?!?!?! Next, I was seated in my chair and Michelle began working on my braids. With the help of the wonderful Miss Gea they were done inside of 4 hours. I left feeling and looking like a true islander. Michelles braiding technique is unlike anything Ive seen before and the end was result was the best set of braids Ive ever had done. She totally dispels the rumor that white girls cant braid hair. (And Ive had my hair in braids for most of my life). While I was having my hair worked on I received a small hand and foot massage by Dawn. And let me just say I look forward to spending a full hour and half with her. She has amazing hands and pays great attention to detail. Now Im very curious about their signature massage 4 hands on one body, I cant wait. more

I am a professional model, and I have always had my long extensions done by top "celeb stylists"(Frederic Fekkai,Jose Eber,John Sahag,Sally Hershberger,Robert Cromeans to name a few) and I MUST say I was impressed by Michelle(the owner-who has her own celeb clientele)AND her staff! For the VERY reasonable prices for their talents and high calibur of work they did on my head! My last visit was a sort of "fix up" from another stylist on my bangs. Sarah not only added perfectly blended extensions into my bangs(a difficult feat for those who know extensions) AND Michelle, and her hubby Joel stayed patiently until well after 2A.M. to assure a "perfect job". Sarah is AWESOME! She's also honest and puts so much pride in her work! I am VERY picky and I FINALLY found a stylist I can go to, not worry, and KNOW I will leave looking GREAT! Sonia is an AMAZING esthetician who REALLY KNOWS her craft! You MUST try this salon if you are super picky and still care to not be overcharged by so-called celeb stylists! I LOVE MY HAIR! You must go and book time with Andy (a senior hairstylist)! He does the most amazing layers, hands down magnificent! I was amazed. I'm one of those girls with really long and thick hair, and he just made my life with the way he layered and sylized it! He's a perfectionist, and the hairstyle he just gave me was worth EVERY penny! I'm telling you check this guy out! more

I reciently heard about Hedonism Salon from a friend who LOVED it! So I got the number and called to request some info. Immediately I was stunned to notice that as I was talking on the phone to the front dest host, I was smiling! She was so warm and friendly and REAL (which can be rare in a rather stuffy profession in this rather stuffy city!)! Anyway, I booked and hair apt, facial and massage. Let me just say....OH MY GOSH! It was so worth my dollar! I was pampered! The brought me wine, cookies, anything I wanted and allowed me the luxury of feeling like a queen for the day. Isn't that way we go to the Spa?! They were sinsational, and I will recommend them time and time again to everyone I know. Already have another massage set for next week and literally counting down the days! more

The estitician was warm and friendly and was able to get me in sooner than my appointment. She led me to a beautifully,warm,room where I was to have the best facial of my lifetime. The Aroma, was pleasant not over bearing, and her hands were amazing. She was so friendly I felt I had known her for a long time, don't forget to ask for Sonia when for your facial appointments, She was very knowledebale about my skin. After my appt with Sonia, I was able to get a haircut by the owner Michelle, she is very meticulous, and neat and perfection is her niche. I just wanted a trim, and some loose ends cut, and she did a excellent job. Shanti gave me the best haircut and highlights I've ever had. And Alicia worked miracles on my skin and provided me with a routine I can live with, which I really appreciate since I live in Mexico. A relaxing massage by Stacy. I was well fed, watered & spoiled from the minute I walked in So this is how those Beverly Hills housewives live? No, this isn't a bargain basement salon, but it's reasonably priced for the area it serves. Quality service is the key. The staff truly cares to please and if something isn't right you are encouraged to speak up. What? The customer is always right? At Hedonism the concept is obviously the backbone of their business. Okay, so...I left town, and found a bottle of hair color that closely matched my hair (or so I thought) and it came out green. I had to immediately run to a salon in a city that I am not familiar with and they tried to "bleach" the color out of my hair. (Bad idea) So, when I came back home to LA and back home to Hedonism I was a mess. I was now gun shy about coloring my hair, my hair had broken, and I had cheated on my hair artist Michelle (the owner....) Not good. But...I have to say that all was not lost. Michelle chuckled, gave me an amazing glass of wine (have to remember to get the name of that wine) and we went to work. I thought that this was going to be the process from hell, but Michelle went through the paces, color, conditioning treatment and a trim and I was back to normal! This is it....for all the world to see. I promise promise promise that I will never try that AGAIN! I saw that the salon had just opened so I poked my head in and looked around, it is beautiful!! I decided to try them out; because they have just opened I was able to get a walk-in with Shanti, one of their "Senor Hair Artists". I was blown away, I have been to many salons in Los Angeles and was never really satisfied with my experience but Hedonism amazed me from the moment I stepped in the door. The staff is very friendly, the hair cut is GREAT! and the service was second to none! (The scalp massage was orgasmic!) I highly recommend booking now because this place is going to be BOOMING soon. The owner personally thanked and they gave me 20% off my Paul Mitchell shampoo purchase. I can't wait to come back and try out the massage therapists.
