i used to looooooooooooove this place, back when it was just a cute little dayspa that specialized in massage and facials. the philosophy back then was to make these little luxuries of life accessible for the "average joe". unfortunately, no longer.
heaven on earth has now sunk a lot of money into decor and expansion. which is great for the owner, i suppose, but it has left the rest of us peons behind. i used to go all the time, but the last 2 times i was there, the massage was still great, but the reception service was spotty at best, and neglectful at worst. for one appointment, which i had come 10 mins. early for, i sat and waited 30 minutes in the sitting area before anyone checked in on me. finally, after pacing back and forth pretending to peruse the many wares they had for sale, i asked and they said oh, sorry we forgot about you. i almost wrote a long letter to the owner, but then said, forget it, i'm just not coming back (as you can see, i'm taking the opportunity to write it now--ha ha). i had been going for so long, i decided to give it one more chance and the next time was slightly better, only a 10 min. wait, but nobody offered water or tea (which i knew they had and which they used to offer regularly), despite the room being almost empty. you would think that for $70/hr they would extend you some basic niceties. and that was back awhile--they're now charging $75/hr for the basic massage!
the one time i did do a half day package, the massage was great, the facial was good, the wrap and scrub was not worth it. i don't think the wrap/scrub was worse than other places, i just didn't enjoy the experience much....i was cold after they left me in the wrap for about 10 mins. and there was no way to get someone to help me.
haven't tried the hair services, and i probably won't. sorry to see this place go the way of so many other day spas...
if you want to see where i go now--check out my post on "myospa".
