I brought home a new puppy about 3 months ago and went to Healthy pets of wedgewood based on a recommendation from my girlfriend who takes her dog there. The first visit was very pleasing ($42 for the exam and stool sample, free sample of Sentinal flavor tab) with the exception the vet seemed very rushed. She spoke VERY fast, but was good with the dog. The second visit was not so great. We saw the same doctor who was about the same, but the assistant was different and not as good with my dog as the first visit assistant. He squeezed my dog too hard and didn't seem comfortable handling him.
The office visit was $42 again, and Distemper was $27. (Best friends - where I now take my dog, charges $37 for a visit, and $18 for distemper vaccine) This time I also bought a one month supply of sentinal flavor tab from them price matched to 1800petmeds. I got home to realize they gave me interceptor flavor tab instead of what they were supposed to sell me. I took it back and they were happy to switch it out for the correct thing, but overall this was a hassle to have to go back. After telling my girlfriend, she checked her records and found out they did THE SAME THING for an entire year for her dog! I believe in making mistakes, but after hearing this I began to think they might pull this trick on purpose??? The combination of fast talking/unpersonable vet, over priced vaccines and procedures, and the medicine mix up has caused me to switch vets. (FYI - neuter at wedgewood = $222, neuter at Best friends = $205)
SO if you want to at least save a few bucks, it makes sense to drive 3 mins down the road to best friends. Hopefully your experiences will be better than mine, but pet owner beware!
Pros: Staff was friendly, great facility, easy to make apt.
Cons: Price (compare to Best Friends), Gave me wrong meds,
