Editorial review from Citysearch 8/9/2012

THE ABSOLUTE WORST! Save yourself the stress, anger, and frustration, and take your car somewhere else. A 5 day repair job has turned into 23, and counting. They never give me an update, I have to constantly call them, and am fed a boatload of BS. No joke, I want to shake these idiots, and ask them, ""What the f*$k is wrong with you people?!"" It's the worst repair shop I've ever had the displeasure of doing business with. Just miserable. Not once have they apologized for the massive delay, and stupidity on their part. No idea how this place is still in business. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THESE SCUMBAGS! more

WORST PLACE EVER STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 4/20/2012

This is a long review, but if I can save someone else frustration, then I did my job. This place is the worst auto body shop I have ever been to! I recently moved into the neighborhood and thought I would give them a try. What a BIG mistake! I was told the repair would take 4 days it is now 16 days later and the work is still not completed. And as a matter of fact, Harry's is refusing to finish the work. I will say there appears to have been a miscommunication, a lack of proper estimates sent to my insurance detailing all the necessary work, and an argument between my insurance agent and Rick, the General Manager from Harry's, but I am suffering the consequences of Harry's complete lack of professionalism. I responded to Rick's and my agents crazy bantering back and forth by trying to calm the situation and just move on. Below is a copy of my email to the GM Rick and my agent. Keep in mind my agent had approved the final repairs before this email was sent to the GM of Harry's: ""Bottom line my dissatisfaction is the lack of communication by Harry's Auto and nothing more. It now appears the problem seems to be between my insurance and Harry's and I am stuck in the middle as all of the approvals/etc are done between you two and are out of my control. I don't need multiple emails back and forth. I just need the problem resolved. Rick, like I stated in my previous email, please call me once the parts have been received by Harry's (it appears it has been approved already) and at that time you can attach them and remove the ink stain on the leather seat as well and we can then be done. How long does it usually take to receive the moldings?"" This was my response from the GM Rick: ""It is quite evident that you still have no conception of the fact that we only do what is written on the estimate by YOUR insurance company, which is exactly what we did. Good look in your future endeavors. Also, you are absolutely right, this is out of control and a giant waste of my time so please do not continue to e-mail as the will go un-answered. Please find another facility."" I asked to speak to the owner of the shop and Rick refused to let me speak to him or meet with him at the shop. He stated ""No one speaks to Harry, he doesn't not speak to the customers. I am the only person you can speak to."" If I were Harry, I would re-evaluate having Rick as your GM and be more involved in your day-to-day operations. Lastly, they returned my car with black ink on the beige leather seat and Rick couldn't care less. No apologies were given. Rick seems to think because Harry's gave me $50 off my deductible and after 7 days of paying for a rental car out of my pocket they decided to give me a loaner car that I should be a happy customer. Bottom line is there is a complete lack of professionalism and big egos here. Rick believes because (his quote again:) ""We are a 38 year company and do the majority of our business on extremely high end automobiles"" that I should be okay with the treatment because apparently my Audi A4 is a piece of sh*t to him and isn't an Aston Martin. Bottom line: Unless you like someone treating condescendingly then STAY FAR, FAR AWAY!!!!!!!!! more

5 Star Body Shop 1/5/2012

Harry's Auto Collision on S. La Brea is by far the best body shop I have ever done business with. I brought my Honda CR-V in with over $4,000 in damage. From the moment I walked in the door until I drove away a happy customer, this was a great experience. The customer service is phenomenal. Even if you're not driving the latest, most expensive new car, Harry's will make you feel like royalty. Plus, there's the convenience of having your auto insurance appraiser on the site AND easy courtesy car rental from Enterprise on the spot. I got daily status phone calls. Wow. In the past when I've dropped a battered accident-surviving car at a body shop, the thing disappeared and I heard nothing for weeks. I was in and out in 6 days -- during a holiday week! I'm a customer for LIFE. Harry's has got to be the best body shop in L.A. more

Great experience 7/28/2010

I brought my BMW here, at the recommendation of Geico after it was sideswiped. They were expecting me and had a great waiting room with free beverages. Enterprise was on site and had a car delivered there for me to use. The service was quick (only 6 days for repair), and the job looks great. They called to update me on the progress twice. Definitely the best auto body experience I've ever had! Pros: Friendly, quick service, Enterprise onsite Cons: Some difficulty with getting in touch with adviser more

Great place, very professional 5/14/2010

I have had work on my car twice now here and can only say great things. All the staff are pros, and they remember your name. They won't rip you or your insurance company off and you'll always get an honest estimate. Turnaround time is good. Bonus points for the Entertprise car rental located on site. You are in and out of here in a hurry. What more can you want? Ask for Rafi, good guy. Pros: Prompt and professional service Cons: small parking lot more

There are two Harry's Auto Collision Centers 12/19/2009

Hey people..there are two Harry's on La Brea and they are not run by the same Harry!\r \r Make sure your writing about the right one before you post your reviews.\r \r The one on S. La Brea is the one in the picture on this page, and it is an upscale shop. The one on N. La Brea sits on a corner lot across from McDonalds. Pros: one on N. La Brea Cons: one on S. La Brea more

How this place stays in business is beyond me! 12/11/2009

Harry's on La Brea came highly recommended to me by my auto dealer. I was in a minor auto accident needing my front fender replaced along with retouch paint job to the front side of my vehicle. Harry's claims they are the exclusive auto body shop to all the high end dealers in town. At first glance, this shop blew me away with their high level of professionalism. The gentleman who managing my account wore a suit. He emailed me every day on the updates to my car and was very cordial. He reassured me my car was being well taken care of. On the day I was told my car was going to be ready, I stopped by to find my new fender hanging half off my car with all the bolts laying on the ground still waiting to be finished up. I gracefully waited in their state-of-the-art waiting room upstairs... complete with hardwood floors and comfy couches. After 45 minutes, I was told my car was ready only to find a large paint drip mark that had dried on my car. It was the most sloppy paint job I had EVER seen. My guy in the suit apologized and said to come back three days later and they will have it all fixed. I return on a Saturday morning...taking over an hour out of my day to drive to West Hollywood. My guy in a suit was now in what appeared to be a mechanic outfit telling me it was all retouched and ready to go. I went to look at my car, and the SAME paint drip mark was still there! They didn't touch a THING! He wasn't so nice this time and acted as if I was putting HIM out. He had the nerve to tell me, ""Come back sometime next week and we will fix it for you."" Did he forget I had already been back twice??? You can bet I will NEVER EVER EVER take my car back to Harry's. If their claim is that they work with high end cars... I would be very afraid to take my high end vehicle to this shop. You can paint a pretty picture all you want with your fancy suits and emails. But, if you can't deliver on what you promise, you are NO better then the shop down the street. Pros: Nice waiting room Cons: Sloppy paint job, inconvenient more

Harrys Auto Dishonesty and Unprofessionalism from the Bottom to the Top!!!!!!! 11/13/2008

After I was in a car accident I wanted to take my 2007 Perfect Ford Mustand to an authorized Ford body shop, my Insurance company recommended Harry's.First off it was estimated to take 3 weeks more or less to fix, it took 5 weeks, on the 5th week I called to get the status and the receptionist said it was ready 2 days ago, Daniel was handling my case and never called me(I don't recommend Daniel at all! After I picked my car up I did a glance at the work and it looked fine I asked if I noticed any quirks if I could bring it back they said yes.I notice a few things including a big scratch on front bumper and scratches all over the hood from where they covered it to pant the side, when I took it in they all conspired to tell me that it wasn't thier fault, I was told by The Fat receptionist, Daniel and the manager June(A man) that he was on a test drive,he wasn't and I knew that, and he could have cared less.\r In a nutshell, I would not recommend this auto shop why? see below:\r -After you pick up your car they act like you don't exist\r -If you notice damage to your car after you pick it up, you are on your own(Oh they will fix a minor damage for free if it doesn't cost them more than 100.00.\r \r I have never written a review before, but I am in the Customer Service Business and felt it my duty....\r \r If you do take it to Harry's Auto Collission do the following\r \r 1.Take pictures of your car before turning it over to them.\r 2.When you pick it up take your pictures with you and go over EVERY INCH of your car with a fine tooth comb.\r 3.Address any problems immediately because Harry as he said has been in buisness for 30 years\r and has a successful business so he has the attitude of (Oh well a few unsatisfied customers, WHO CARES)\r \r I must give credit to where credit is due, the only person who I felt had any concern about the customer\r was Raffi, I wish I had delt with him....\r \r In short, think hard before you take your car to this shop.\r \r Pros: Raffi one of the employees Cons: Daniel, Harry, June they need a lesson on how to communicate with customers more

great service (for insurance holders) 10/21/2008

I took my Infiniti G35 for front end repair after a car accident. I took my car on 2 separate occasions 1st time I stated with NO insurance claim (I felt like a 2nd class citizen). 2nd time (few weeks later) I stated YES insurance claim (they treated me like royalty). I feel they took a bit too long for just a front end repair (bumper repair and headlight replacement) but they did a great job. It looked like new. When I picked up the car there was some damage to my door (scratches/chips) while in their care. They did not argue the damages and admitted it was their fault and they fixed it with no problem. Of course it took a few days more! I would take my care there again. Pros: good and attentive if you have car insurance Cons: so, so service if you don't have car insurance more

Excellent collision repair 7/22/2008

I took my Infiniti FX45 to Harrys for minor body work and repainting in advance of a lease return. The staff was a pleasure to deal with, and the work was top-notch. I understand that Inifinit of Santa Monica sends all of their body work to Harrys. Judging from the cars in the facility, they do work on a lot of high-end vehicles, including Aston Martins. Highly recommneded. Pros: Quality of work, service/staff friendliness more
