Harry's on La Brea came highly recommended to me by my auto dealer. I was in a minor auto accident needing my front fender replaced along with retouch paint job to the front side of my vehicle.
Harry's claims they are the exclusive auto body shop to all the high end dealers in town. At first glance, this shop blew me away with their high level of professionalism. The gentleman who managing my account wore a suit. He emailed me every day on the updates to my car and was very cordial. He reassured me my car was being well taken care of.
On the day I was told my car was going to be ready, I stopped by to find my new fender hanging half off my car with all the bolts laying on the ground still waiting to be finished up. I gracefully waited in their state-of-the-art waiting room upstairs... complete with hardwood floors and comfy couches. After 45 minutes, I was told my car was ready only to find a large paint drip mark that had dried on my car. It was the most sloppy paint job I had EVER seen.
My guy in the suit apologized and said to come back three days later and they will have it all fixed.
I return on a Saturday morning...taking over an hour out of my day to drive to West Hollywood. My guy in a suit was now in what appeared to be a mechanic outfit telling me it was all retouched and ready to go. I went to look at my car, and the SAME paint drip mark was still there! They didn't touch a THING! He wasn't so nice this time and acted as if I was putting HIM out. He had the nerve to tell me, ""Come back sometime next week and we will fix it for you."" Did he forget I had already been back twice???
You can bet I will NEVER EVER EVER take my car back to Harry's. If their claim is that they work with high end cars... I would be very afraid to take my high end vehicle to this shop. You can paint a pretty picture all you want with your fancy suits and emails. But, if you can't deliver on what you promise, you are NO better then the shop down the street.
Pros: Nice waiting room
Cons: Sloppy paint job, inconvenient
