I am a board member at the dysfunctional condo that generated all those negative reviews from August 31 through November 10. Check the wording, the authors were working together ...

Worst

Harris Properties is our condominium HOA property management company and most members are disgruntled with the level of service (or lack of) received by our property manager, Stev...

Is this the company belonging to ? 7/5/2010

Anyone know if this is the company owned by Jim Harris? more

Bad Harris 2/25/2010

If your HOA Board is currently choosing a management company for your property, tell them: NO Harris! Pros: unfortunately, zip Cons: lazy, rude, don't care and show it! more

Terrible 12/6/2009

I have to agree with everyone. Dealing with the owners is a nightmare. They are as rude and condesending as they come. On the other hand I must give props to the ladies in the office who are ususally nice, but obviously have no authority to do anything for you, so you end up dealing with the owner anyways. You can sense they are aware their boss is a nightmare and they work in fear. I am a current resident and love my place, but I am also still waiting for a phone call back after three voice mails and an email. I am looking to move, solely because of the owner's behavior. I have never been treated so rudely by my landlord before. I am in complete shock that in this housing market there is any property management company out there who consistently makes their residents feel like they are doing you a favor by renting you their apartment. The principals of customers service are non existent here. Pros: nice ladies in the office Cons: rude owner, 0 resident appreciation more

Awful company 10/31/2009

I commented on someone's post and couldn't agree more with everyone. My phone calls would not be returned when I called this company and up till now I am waiting for a deposit check from the company. If I would have known how unkind, awful customer servise and rude the owner is I would have rented elsewhere. The managers they hire do what they please and the company has no idea what goes on in the buildings. When I rented an apartment it didn't have a phone jack and I had to pay for a phone jack from out of my pocket. I didn't know the company was suppose to pay for it. I have lost the bill and so I have put that behind me. The owner would not sign a simple form which my morgage company wanted sign stating I payed rent on time. I was one of the best and most loyal renters the owner ever had. I can not recommend this company. Do not rent or use them. Cons: unkind/ rude and not well managed more

Terrible customer service 10/12/2009

I agree with the other reviewers 100%. We just moved into a building managed by this company and couldn't be more displeased. They were late giving us our HOA docs during escrow and then refused to give us any clarification when we asked, saying we that until we closed, they had no responsibility to us beyond giving us the documents. They were just as unresponsive after our closing, however, and gave us no help and incorrect information regarding how to access our garage so that we were unable to use it during our move. Even though they charge a $300 ""move-in fee,"" we had to buy our own garage door openers and hire a lock smith to open our own mailbox because they did not provide a key. There was nothing offered in return for the fee. 50% of the fee is a deposit which is returned to the owner upon completion of the move, providing no damage is done to the building. When we asked about getting that back, they were again unresponsive except to say that we had painted our deck walls without permission. There is a rule in the docs that you can''t make architectural modifications to the deck without permission, but it does not mention painting. I wrote an email complaint to the company, and it's been 2 days and I have yet to receive any response. Ignoring their customers seems to be their specialty. My husband and I are hoping to get onto the board and replace this useless company. Pros: none to speak of Cons: unhelpful, unknowledgeable, uncaring more

Unprofessional business practices, condescending attitude from owner, poor managment. 1/16/2009

The saying is ""there are no good managment companies"", however we are bound to find one. Our experience with Harris has been mixed. Overall we are not happy with them since they continue to raise their fees and to perform fewer duties that are outlined in the contract. Our biggest complaint is the lack of communication and no response to email or telephone messages. Our bills are not paid timely with shut off notices on our property by the gas company and vendors complaining they haven't been paid in months. The main reason we are not satisfied is that the owner will not accept responsbility for any of it and has an excuse or rationale for all of it. The tone is condescenting and not professional. He wrote the definition for sarcasm. We moved our business elsewhere and are paying 2/3 of what we paid Harris to not manage our affairs. We are optimistic that our next management company experience will be better. Pros: Surprised us a couple of times with unsolicited recommendations and solutions Cons: no communication, pd bills late, not consultative, condescending, more

Manage yourself before choosing them! 1/2/2009

I live in a building in South Central which is currently managed by Harris Properties. They were contracted by our Board of Directors without any of the co-operators approval or notice until it was too late, and their work shows. They don't call back when you leave messages, they have poor consumer response and even worse manners. They are disrespectful and it is reflected by the ownership that is ten times as worse. Once we realized that this company knows they need do nothing more than the letter of their contract, we understand that action must be taken. We have filed a complaint with the B*tter B*siness B*reau and intend to replace them once the contract has run it's term. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere for management. Pros: They sound important Cons: Terrible consumer relations and management more
