I called for an estimate and Handyman Matters was very knowledgeable, not a super-duper sales type of person. He was just a craftsman and we very pleased. He installed windows, doors and painted the interiors. The craftsman/handyman was prompt and the work didn't exceed the estimate, which pleased us. We have used them twice and everything turned out well. We would use them again. more

Over the course of the past six years, I've called Handyman Matters to do various improvements in my home. The carpenters at Handyman Matters are great and we really like the service. Rich is probably the best carpenter that we've had, he helped us turn a one way stairwell into a two way stairwell and it was our favorite job that we've had done by them. Rich really knows his carpentry and does things very efficiently, I would recommend him to anyone. We like that they do big and small jobs and try to satisfy the customer's needs. We've had zero problems with Handyman Matters and can't wait to use them again. more

I hired Handyman Matters to put treads on stairs and boards on the sides of stairs. The person who came did a very nice job, took measurements and was accurate. The stairs look great. Their staff members were very responsive and always got back to me in a reasonable amount of time. I got their name from Angies List. They had offered a special. I've only worked with Mark and he was absolutely fabulous. The first time I called, I had a few small things to do that he worked on and some of it was carpentry. At the end he had a few minutes left and helped me with some small stuff. It was great. I called Handyman Matters again with a long laundry list of things to do including some extensive carpentry, carving the corner of my house, some electrical, and some plumbing. Mark spent two days. Don't be put off by what would seem as an expensive hourly rate because it was really worth it. He did a beautiful job. He was incredibly nice. Handyman Matters is really organized. We did fairly well together. I was enormously impressed. The work was really first rate. I've only dealt with Mark, but if he's a representative that's a really good thing. I'll probably call them again. Some people may look at the rate and think "I can get cheaper handyman" and you probably can. But they came, hit the ground running, went straight through, and did a great job. Mark is a really skilled carpenter. They did everything quickly and well. I like that I got one person who was skilled at all three things: electrical, carpentry, and plumbing and he went right through my list. I would hire him for a larger remodel. more

First, whenever I call Bob of Handyman Matters Boston is great. He is always responsive and always professional and always quick. He will always call back and is thorough. He definitely delivers, if he says someone is coming I can count on him and his people. Second, the man Rich who comes out to do the work is great. He knows our house, is always on time, and he does really good work quickly. I feel totally comfortable having him in my house. Bob Once again Rich did a great job for me, building a new bulkhead for my antique house. Given its age, nothing in my house is a standard size and therefore takes extra care to make things right. Rich is meticulous, always has good advice and suggestions and shows great attention to detail. He is a terrific craftsman and I wanted you to know what a great employee you have. I've hired Handyman Matters of Boston about five times and I've received great service every time. They have done minor things, like hanging curtains, and more difficult things as well. Bob's carpenter came out to fix something a contractor did wrong. He was able to do the job to my pleasing, both economically and aesthetically. They have also done things outside for me. I had them hang exterior shutters for me once. I also called them when I had ice damage, to shovel snow off the roof. The time I called them about the ice damage, they were particularly responsive, and helped immediately. Overall, I am very pleased with the service I've received. Bob, the owner, is very responsive. I like that I am able to make appointments through e-mail, it just makes things very easy for me because I have a busy work schedule. Bob reworked his schedule to fit us in. The to do list kept expanding, and he kept someone at the house to get it all done before we moved in. He and his team are great. We've used Handyman Matters of Boston a lot. Some of the work they've done for us is hang some pictures, tighten faucets, and they've fixed a door knob. All of their work for us has turned out great. For the work on the faucets, we had someone else come in first and they couldn't do it, but Handyman Matters was able to do it. They do a very good job. My experience with Handyman Matters Boston was not perfect, but it was pretty darn close! I'd use them again in a second. The guy who came to do the work was great. He was very friendly and answered all of my questions. He definitely knew what he was doing. He even made some recommendations for a project I was working on that was completely unrelated to the work he was doing, but I really appreciated the help because it worked. I was thrilled with the results. The owner came by to inspect the job. And he was nice, maybe not as friendly as the person who did the work, but still very nice. But, I got the sense that he was pressuring the guy doing the job to work faster. It turned out that they had to come back to fix something. They were more than happy to come back out, that wasn't the issue. However, I feel as though if the time had been allowed in the first place, then it would not have been necessary to make another trip out. They were a great company to work with. The jobs have had varying degrees of complexity and I have been consistently very satisfied with the quality of work on everything. From carpentry to masonry to plumbing, small repairs to fairly significant renovations, they have been an incredible service. I have used one of their staff members, Rich, and I request him because he is outstanding, reliable, responsible, and can fix just about anything.
