Rich arrived on time and completed our requested projects even better than we'd imagined they could be done. He was kind enough to add more repairs to our list that were not part of our original contract. His carpentry, painting, and drywall skills are very evident in the completed projects. He is a perfectionist, and I wouldn't hesitate to call on this company again. more

I had a leak in my front door and the technician from Handyman Matters came over and stopped it. He put caulking on the inside and he replaced a missing board frame in front of the door as well. The work was done in about an hour and the man was very communicative with me. The leak no longer exists so I am satisfied. more

Handyman matters came to my home and hung several interior door slabs, trimming each door to fit in existing door frames of my older home. Excellent work, professional attitude. The cost was 1/2 of a local remodeling company!! This is my kind of company! more

The key with Handyman Matters is trust. When you are dealing with a handyman company, you need to be able to trust them. I work and am single and I can't be there when they are working in my house. I am able to give them my key, tell them what the problem is, and they resolve it every time. They are easy to work with and trustworthy. They are all friendly and hardworking people. more

I recently had Daniel come out for half a day of handyman help, involving hanging several shelves and stripping and replacing bathroom caulk. As he was about to leave, he noticed my storm door was sticking badly, and suggested he could do something about that too. The underlying problem took some ingenuity to solve, and I really appreciated his creativity and helpfulness. more

So for any of you in the process of selling your house or needing repairs done, how stressful is it when you aren't the most handy person in the world? My wife and I just sold our house and we had several things that the buyers wanted us to correct for them. I really didn't know where to start. Handyman Matters took care of me and gave me a great price. It was so simple. All I had to do was get the supplies for the job and they took care of the rest... no fuss at all. Sharon the receptionist knew exactly what I needed. As soon as I explained it, Sharon was dead on with her estimation of cost and how long it would take. Then their guy Rich came on site to my home and blew through the job like gangbusters AND did a fantastic job! Rich was great! Handyman Matters of Columbia, Southern Montgomery County and Baltimore are reliable, responsible and punctual. Also, they always clean up after themselves properly when they're done. I appreciate that they always consult with their clients before beginning any work. They listen to their client's wants and needs and then offer suggestions if they have any. more

Brian from Handyman Matters of Columbia knew exactly what he was doing. He communicated ahead of time what he was going to do, and laid out a time frame of how long the work would take. There was a minor delay with a part not arriving quickly, however, even with that little delay, Brian was able to finish at the deadline he had given to me, as promised. After years of neglect, our door frames and bay windows contained a lot of wood rot due to a poor gutter design. The deck was even sadder. Rich was ingenious at repairing the wood, restoring the deck, extending our roof to eliminate future problems, and performing a variety of smaller jobs that other services would not do. At first the hourly rate seemed high, but Rich was knowledgeable and did not waste time, so the final cost was quite reasonable. We will call on HM again. more

We found this company through Wave Home Solutions. They installed a purification and ventilation system in our home. They worked very efficiently and were very friendly. The only negative part is the cost of the service. Im sure that this is the standard fee, and I would give 5/5 except for the fact that I know another service that charges about half of what they do. Otherwise great work, thanks! more

We had a great experience with HM. We needed some of our exterior wood trim repaired. The job was finished quickly, and everything was done really well. more

We found Handyman Matters through Angies List and they were rated well, so we had them come out to estimate work that needed to be done. This is the only Handyman Service that would not hem and haw fishing for a large remodeling project, rather they got to work right away fixing a lot of small things that we had been wanting fixed for a long time. One of the issues we had concern about were the windows, we had estimates to replace them but thought to give a last minute try to repair them. They did, saving us $1500 in replacement costs. Our tech was very helpful, he kept going and going, we just supplied the material, he wrote the lists. He worked through each day knocking out projects. He installed closet hangers, repaired storage units, repaired a kitchen countertop, repaired cabinet drawers to save on remodeling costs, re=tiled part of the bathroom and installed a dishwasher among many other items. The service was dependable and trustworthy, they came when they said they would and did not charge extra for any commute time which they thought unnecesary. All in all it was a very good experience, my husband and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to save money in these difficult economic times by repairing instead of remodeling. Brian from Handyman Matters of Columbia, Southern Montgomery County and Baltimore was very professional. However, he was not as flexible with his hours as I wished he'd been. I wanted him to be able and available to start and finish the work on the weekend, when I could be there. He wanted to start on the weekend and finish up during the week. I just wasn't comfortable with that. RESPONSE FROM Handyman Matters Inc: Dear Mr. Bonds, Thank you very much for the review. I am very sorry that we were not able to service you on the weekend. Our normal hours are Monday - Friday but we do try to fit clients in on the weekend as well. I have used Handyman Matters for about 4 years, and have been very pleased with their promptness, courtesy and willingness to "go the extra step" in getting repairs done, especially with the carpentry work on my deck--kudos to "Rich" who was exceptional in his work expertise and knowledge. I also think that Sharon is very helpful and listens to carefully to what you want done and makes sure that you are satisfied with the result. more

Set up appointment with Sharon. Mike #1 came with a 24' ladder and replaced 1 of the 3 vents, then said he would need to come back another day with a 40' ladder and a helper. He took pictures of the location and placement of the other 2 vents. He came back the next week with Mike #2, who had left at home a "bracket" to place on the garage roof to provide a level surface to place a ladder. They went to the Home Depot to rent the "bracket", then finished replacing the last two vents. That weekend while cutting grass I saw that they had left on my lawn next to the house a 2x4, about 8 inches long, with two 3 inch nails sticking out.
