Innocent until proven guilty! 5/3/2010

My story is simular about abusing my meds, but I had been seeing another dr for different medical reasons including a hysterectomy that required pain meds. In fact I told Dr. hales office what was happening, the meds they were prescribing,so I was not in anyway breaking the contract. Well last friday at 4pm they told me I was gone and left me without a refill of lighter meds I have been taking for over 4 years now!!!They would not allow me to defend or explain myself, and still won't. I will fight for my innocence on this matter since I did exaclty what I was told to do by Hales office. I could care less about the medication but I will not stand by quietly and allow some close minded Bias group to deface and degrade my character.I passed all my drug tests and never had to get med's early, and yet I was still treated like a criminal. Whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty? I'm not allowed to prove my innocence!!! But I will even if I have to get an attorney, I will!! How many drug seekers will keep fighting when they were guilty? None that I know of. Cons: judgemental and bias opinions and people more

NEVER FEEL SAFE WITH THIS DOCTOR! 12/9/2009

I could write a book on my experiences with pain management physicians and it would all begin with Dr. Gerald R. Hale. It's one thing to be a person who seeks meds because they like to get high, quite another to be accused of seeking meds because you want to get high. And when you are physically suffering the way I was, the psychological and emotional trauma are indeed life changing. Not only did I trust him, but I put my life in his hands. He betrayed my trust, he betrayed my honesty and he didn't bother to consider the implications of either. The details of my story though relevant would take up a mile of space here, it's the consequences that matter. Not only was I kicked out of the practice, but never told WHY he decided I was seeking drugs for FUN! I called one day to make an appt. and very mean nurse accused me of abusing my medications and I was being terminated? Wha???? No explanation. Certainly no evidence because I wasn't abusing my meds. Okay well...except for the fact that I spent 2 weeks in detox to try and get off them and try something less addicting, which didn't work for me. But I hated them so much I was willing to try anything. I was however very forthcoming with all of this information and I fail to see how this translates into seeking drugs for FUN! Cons: Betrayal more

Paitent Finally Gets Relief 11/15/2009

From the initial phone call I received to schedule the first appointment and including the worksheet required for all new patients, which was mailed to me to fill out, to the office receptionist who was friendly and smiled, to Dr. Frank Hackl M.D., who obviously knows his business and was so kind, patient and explained everything in detail and offered me all the time needed to ask questions, to the medication nurse (whom I must apologize to, for I have forgotten her name), to the appointment worker who scheduled my next appointment. I was completely satisfied and felt they were honestly interested in solving my Chronic Pain?. I was seeing a different pain specialist in Tulsa who will remain nameless to protect his business. I was treated like an animal in a Kennel instead of a human. I had a reaction from the injections done at their office and was unable to reach a nurse or doctor, or receive a call back, which I was instructed to do on their aftercare instructions and on the message machine which answered my call for help. I followed the instructions precisely after having the reaction and finally had no choice but to pay a visit to an E.R. at St. Francis Hospital which took 14 hours. I have to say that it was a terrible way to get treated. I will never refer my family, friends and co-workers to that other office. Pros: Greatest Office Manner In World Cons: Can't Find Apartment Close To Office more

a drug scam? 10/27/2009

These doctors are inthe business of'pain management"" which is like the bottom feeders of the doctor world. I like te comment about the nurse ""lena""as I also experienced her. I was taking too many pills for my back so I went to them for help. They prescribed a small sleeping pill to cut back my pain pill use. When it came time to refill my prescriptiom Lena randomly decided to double the amount of pain pills I had previously received and cut out the sleeping pill. This seriously increased my need for pain pills by having so much avaiable at once. If you try to complain about her you are screwed bc I think all the doctors are also on drugs so they rely on her to make all the decisions. She really has the prescription power in that practice. I would advise against going to these doctors, they aren't really about help just getting money for drugs. I think they should be investigated. more

pain management 10/26/2009

They use a nurse named Lena to do all their refills. If you get on her bad side (which is quite easy since she thinks everyone is just out to get drugs) she will do everything to block your refill. Since the point of going to a pain specialist is to get pain relief what is the point? I had better luck by just going to my primary care physician. more

Fantastic doctor and nurses, lowsy insurance personnel 4/28/2009

I highly recommend Dr. Hale and his medical staff. They are very professional, efficient and courteous. The relief I have gotten since seeing Dr.Hale is enormous. If you are having pain with no relief from your current treatment and/or meds, please do not waste any time contacting Dr. Hale. He is absolutely one of the best doctors I have been to. He wastes no time in treating your pain. The only problem I have faced is not with Dr. Hale or his medical staff, it is will his office personnel--one person in particular. Brenda, the person that does the pre-certification for procedures with the insurance company, has to be one of the most incompetent people I have ever dealt with. She blatantly lies to cover up her incompetence, does not return phone calls, and puts the blame on the insurance company when she does not send them the information or correspondence they require. Pros: Very professional and efficient doctor and medical staff Cons: Brenda in insurance pre-cert area is very incompetent more

This Physician and His Associates HAVE TRULY CHANGED My LIFE... 11/4/2007

I admit I was quite skeptical three + years ago when referred to Tulsa Integrated Pain Services, Inc. I honestly had come to the conclusion my life (at age 42) was over...I had undergone four (4) major surgeries in an 18 month period as well as, I had spent a total of 3 months time in the hospital. I truly believed my life as I had known it (and my life as my wife and children had known) was over. There were days I couldn't stand, I couldn't walk, I did not sleep, I was unable to literally do anything. more
