This place is a fun place for young kids. I like the different themes & activities offered in different rooms. I do agree with other parents that there is a lack of supervision by staff and other parents. The last time I was there, a couple of 5-year-olds were running ride-on toys full speed up and down the main corridor of the museum. One of them ran the toy into my husband at a high rate of speed and unfortunately, mildly hurt himself. Good thing other little kids weren't nearby at the time. We have no idea where his parents were. I guess it's true you don't see staff cleaning any surfaces down either. I know at Super Frank's, they are on all the toys and surfaces to disinfect them frequently. more

Its a fun place for kids to run around - they have a great water play area and arts and crafts area. My son learned to paint here! Every time we've gone I've found that a lot of the parents and other caregivers don't watch their kids and let them run around like crazy - esp. difficult when big kids go into the early walker area and rough house! I have NEVER seen a staffer in the play area cleaning up, setting up, or policing. more

Yes it's germ-filled but there's a lot for a toddler to love, such as the water play and the big spaceship console. By the way, I contacted them to ask about the hygiene and a manager told me it was completely disinfected every night. more

Wish it was really open on Sundays (is that too much to ask?). It has a little something for infants, toddlers and older kids, but maybe a little too much little of everything instead of more of one thing. Why do they charge the adults entrance fees? more

Habitot is a great place to let your kid explore for an hour or two, especially on a rainy day. Rainy days do get crowded, but if you kid likes other kids, it's even more fun. If you are a member, it is quite cheap (only $110 per year) and if you go frequently it is quite a deal. Has art, water play, pretend cafe, and currently a rocket ship where they get to push lots of buttons. They develop different favorites over time. more

Hard to park and once you've been to San Jose Discovery museum and Sausalito Discovery museum, you'll wonder why you even bothered. but still fun if you don't compare. more

We felt the tot area at habitot wasn't very clean and there wasn't a lot ot do. the play area isn't a place to bring a child who isn't a walker if you are a clean freak mom! more

Habitots is so much fun for toddlers! They get to paint on the walls, play with gak and experiemtn with water. There is a baby doll play area, face painting and fire engine. They can also climb in the climbing area. There is a gracery store and finger painting station too. So much to do! we stayed for four hours and never got bored! more

If you do not live close to Berkeley, this might not be worth the trip. Everything is very cute and hands-on, but with admission at $11 (just for the adult!) and parking about another $10 in a nearby garage, this is an expensive day for something that is cute. It is nice, though, and if I lived close by, I would even opt for a membership so that I could drop in all the time. Definitely geared to the under 3 crowd. more

The kids seem to enjoy themselves here, but it is somewhat small and dingy, and no doubt a germ haven (but how could it not be?). Still, it's a good place to go for some active playtime on a rainy day. more

Super fun for toddlers and preK. Buy a family membership and you will get your money's worth in just a few visits. Get's really crowded on rainy weekend days when everyone is looking for fun indoor entertainment. Go first thing and you almost have the place to yourself for about an hour. Go in the summer and you will have the place to yourself. My boys can spend an hour playing on the huge mabulance, wearing the EMT costumes and rescuing people. QUALITY family place. Nice small size. Can get crowded. more

A bit pricy since adults are charged admission. Nice safe indoor area to run around. My daughter loves the art room. Bring change of clothes since your kid will probably play in the cool water area. A great rainy day place to go. more

They have a seperate area for crawlers. There is also an art room where children can create works of art to take home. more
