Sopmewhat pricey but a great place to take your kids if the weather prevents an outdoor excursion. Be warned that it is EXPENSIVE to go (unless you get one of the memberships) and it is CROWDED on bad weather days. You will have to pay for parking at the garage across the street but you can BART (it's a block away from the BART station). more

It just doesn't get much better than Habitot. Our daughter has had a membership since she was an infant, and at 3 1/2, Habitot is still one of her ( and our) favorite outings. Cost wise, I highly recommend membership unless you only plan on visiting a couple times a year, and this is easily a once weekly kind of outing. Water play, art, creative play, books, , snacks for sale, and great special events...I can't say enough good things about their art room-it has absolutely been key in our daughter's love for art. more

Fun place to take the tots (18 mos --3 yrs). Especially on rainy days, the kids can run around and play with water toys or role play with fire trucks etc. more

not an ideal setup- no barriers if you want your child to stay out of the water, paint, etc. bring extra clothes really crowded when it is cold more

Expensive for what it is. Stuffy, overcrowded, and I wasn't comfortable that things were clean. A number of exhibits were not operational. We went once with my daughter when she was about 18 months (about 18 months ago), and I haven't been back. Our caregiver took our daughter back once, and did not want to go again. Maybe they've cleaned it up. Hard to believe that in such an affluent area, the museum was so rundown. Disappointing. more

A really fun and SAFE indoor place for the kids to get crazy! We go for about two hours and the kids are wiped out! They literally don't stop moving while they are in there. The Art Room and the Ambulance are two big favorites. Prices seem high, but really pay for itself even if you go just once a month. more

Great fun for little ones -- lots of different indoor play areas make this perfect for a rainy day. But watch out -- it can really crowded! Be sure to buy a membership -- it's the most cost effective way to attend. more

We took my two boy's preschool age and an infant on a rainy day, both boy's enjoyed the activites. Places for the infant to crawl and the preschooler to get out the rainy wiggles. more
