HMS VAN LINES DID AN EXCELLENT JOB ON OUR LARGE AND DIFFICULT LAB MOVE AND HOME MOVES!\r \r We are a group of 16 Neurotic and nit picky scientists. LOL\r HMS was the company awarded the move of our Lab from BC to Texas A&M. Keith Orlandelo was the guy who performed the walk through and also supervised the actual move of our chemicals and our high value Olympus microscopes. He was extremely responsive and made a scary situation manageable. There are 16 of us packed into a 3,000 square foot lab space, so needless to say there was a lot going on. Keith helped us to pack a $75,000 photo-spectrometer and also moved several incubators and even managed to pack and ship all of our buffers and chemicals. All items arrived in Texas perfectly.\r \r HMS Van Lines in partnership with North American Van Lines also moved 16 of us down to Texas from as far as the cape up to Salem, MA. (most of us are in Cambridge and Brighton!) Granted, the moves were small in size, but they handled each one of our moves perfectly. The movers were polite and worked very hard. They marked all of our items down on an inventory sheet and also wrapped every item. It was remarkable how well they seemed to work with each other and how much they appeared to care for our stuff. Again, all items on time and pretty much issue free.\r \r We are very happy. more

We had an excellent move with HMS and North American.\r It seemed as though there were a few very good choices for moving companies in Boston and even beyond as far as southern New Hampshire. We had three companies come out to look and we just felt more comfortable with Keith at HMS. The service was great. Our pricing was guaranteed so we knew that we would pay that amount or less. The next thing that we loved is that we did not have to pay a huge deposit because we were burned by a company in Florida about 6 years ago that way. The crew was excellent and the driver was even better. The truck arrived right on time and not a scratch on a single item. We were very happy with HMS Van Lines and would use them again if the need arises.\r more

HMS Van Lines - 133 Maple St, Stoughton, MA \r \r DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Keith ( The president ) of this local branch is dishonest and deceptive. He gave verbal promises, but did not follow through with them. He employs great customer service before the sale, promising the world, but impossible to reach when there are issues or problems post sale. If you don't have every little item or promise in writing, be prepared to have him deny ever making them when you go to collect. He promises professional, courteous movers. Instead we received a group of questionable, complaining workers who made us feel extremely uncomfortable. I helped them load the truck for hours just to move them along and get them out of my house. Professionalism was non-existent. Keith did not properly insure our load, even though he said it was (which maximizes his profits, but leaves you holding the bill when your valuables break). Save yourself a great deal of heart ache and stress and avoid him and his shady business. Moving is stressful enough. You don't need his underhanded business tactics on top of it. You've been warned. \r \r P.S - Look at many of the so called ""positive"" reviews. I don't believe they are from actual customers of HMS. Look at how they are worded. They seem to be from the same user under different user names. \r more

Keith the owner of HMS is a liar, thief and an all around scum bag please beware.....I am a former employee hes robbed me not paid whats due to me and im not the first but enough about me...he sends his guys out of state with other employee's driving number forges log books.. they steal they are def not professionals.. and they will promise you the world if they mess up.. and tell you keith will call and that never happens.. keith pays the guys with drugs percs vics whatever hes a real class act.. I was very skeptical with all of the bad reviews that all of these movers were getting! My gosh. It seems like even the best companies had someone who didn't have a great experience. We had to pick a mover though. My husband called HMS who turns out to be a North American Van Lines agent, so that was a good start as far as making us feel more comfortable. We have found the bigger companies seemed to be more responsive. Our representatIve, KeIth Orlandella was AMAZING! AMAZING! This guy was so attentive to our needs and questions. It actually felt like we were dealing with an employee who worked for us directly and only. He literally made our move a dream. The crew showed up and were equally excellent. The nicest and most polite guys. Brendan and his crew were professional, worked fast and hard and seemed to really care about our belongings. We had a scratch on one small end table and they had it brought to a repair shop and it was back by the following Monday. To be honest, they probably spent more repairing the table than it was worth, however, they insisted. FANTASTIC Moving experience! -MS more

I worked for HMS. Keith, the owner, is a scumbag. He still hasn't paid the money he owes me. He always has his friend or himself writing all the good reviews. Keith holds his customers property, so he can overcharge them. Beware of Keith. He looks like a little bald Chihuahua with braces. HMS Van Lines made our moving experience almost enjoyable. We moved from Providence up to Cambridge. Caitlin or Keith or Alan were always around when we had a question, no matter how insignificant. I worked with everyone of them and they were simply amazing. So nice and accommodating. Our moving team was very understanding of the stress involved. They were careful and moved swiftly. These guys wrapped every square inch of our furniture in these huge moving blankets and they put plastic over our sofas and beds. Even the TV went into a box. We were very happy with this company and the people and the final pricing. If you are looking for a moving company, we recommend HMS. more

Keith Orlandella and his team were high class all of the way. Honestly, I just have to say that I hope that all companies receive this same service from HMS. Our moving team was so thorough, complete and caring and experienced. They moved my house, my lab, my assistant's apartment and it all went without a hitch! The truck was brand new-the movers were excellent and the people were very friendly all around. But, it really was more than that for me. I am very anal and I worry a lot. I like things done right. Incredible experience. We Had a difficult move with a lot of stairs and some very large and very, very heavy furniture. HMS was very easy to deal with and also so friendly and accommodating! This was about my 5th move with a major company and I can say with ease that HMS puts the competition to literal shame. We had 2 HUGE movers and a relatively large moving truck. They were in and out in a flash and it was over. HMS Moving is by far the best I've seen. I was extremely pleased. Although it wasn't my biggest concern, the pricing was decent too. I was so worried from the start about helping our daughter move from Brookline, MA to Washington, D.C. We have done this a few times and about a week or even two before the move the panic sets in! O.k., let's see.... The last two times we did this were not very pleasant. First time the moving company showed up a day late and the movers that they sent were rude and not very fast or careful. Not to mention, the bill naturally came in at a lot more. The second time the movers didn't show up at all! That means dad gets a U-Haul (which took 8 hours of calling around for) and gets it done. Not Good at all. Needless to say, this year we spent considerable time investigating and taking what we have learned and applying it to selecting the right group of people to do the job. The move with HMS: Utterly flawless. When I say flawless, I mean flawless. This company is open 24 hours per day. I have called with questions well past 10:00 at night on a few occasions and have received calls back or immediate email answers! Keith came out, met our daughter and looked and put everything into a tablet computer and emailed us a quote the same day. The pricing was not the least expensive, but it was guaranteed. (I guess you get what you pay for in this business) The dates and times were also guaranteed. The actual move was even better than we could have expected. Their crew wrapped every single item that she had from top to bottom. They moved like an orchestra; fast and furious while being delicate at the same time. The delivery was right on time and without issue. Not a single item was damaged either. Nothing. If anyone out there is looking for a moving company, HMS is it. We strongly recommend HMS Moving to anyone out there. more

HMS just moved our company for the second time. Let me tell you that it is not easy dealing with 46 women everyday for 12 days! When I saw the level of care that these people put into a move and the sheer professionalism that each and every person that works at this company had, I knew that I at least had to call for an estimate for my own move. (I have been going between D.C. and Boston for over two years and decided to come back home for good.) I called them on a Monday, they were in my D.C. apartment by Wednesday and I was moved into my Arlington, MA apartment the following week. HMS has been an amazing company to work with and we are very thrilled with absolutely every aspect of our contact with them and with the moving crews and the overall professionalism. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Taking them to court. The reviews below made me happy until I hire them and they gave me two of the WORST drivers ever! The company I originally went through sub lease with a company HMS vanes lines and they was HORRIBLE. The two guys who picked up my things were very nice but the two guys who dropped them of was HORRIBLE. They started telling me their life story how the truck was hit and they was running behind. They said they would still deliver as planned but just late. I did not mind the them delivering but clearly they did. They pulled up and was smoking cigarettes in front of my 3 year old daughter. I had two friends over and one of them stayed by the truck. She noticed them throwing down boxes that was said fragile on it by the elevator downstairs. She goes: the box says fragile sir and his reply was ""I know but we are trying to rush."" Meanwhile upstairs the guy ask my other friend to help him carry a bed and the other things in hallway. We was soooooo in shock. My friend who was downstairs by the truck/elevator said they forget there was more things downstairs. The guys was putting my bed back together when they should have gotten all the things from downstairs. So basically if my friend was there my stuff would have been left alone. They finally go get the rest of the stuff and my friend told me the truck was empty. I should have counted the boxes before they left but they was rushing. I ended of missing one box. My daughter sneakers/shoes and my belt and lamp base. I counted the boxes and it says i missing two boxes. I called both companies and they are giving me the round around. I have a mirror they was suppose to put back together and they did not because they was rushing. I wish i can post pictures. So I am taking them to court and I do NOT recommend anyone to use them. more

I truly cannot believe the level of service that this company, HMS Moving Services, has provided to me. It was shocking the way that HMS operates with such sincerity and follow through. Pure Service all of the time! I was stuck in Sacramento in the middle of March with 5 days to get out of my condo and no mover! I had a mover and they canceled me for lack of jobs going towards Boston. I found HMS through my Realtor in Boston. I called and that was all it took. They took over from there. A move coordinator was at my door the next afternoon and I had pricing by the next morning. It was more expensive than Bekins, however, well worth it. The driver, Derin, was amazing. He and his crew were nice and thorough and completely accommodating. Caitlin from their Wellesley office called me more than a few times all throughout the move to ensure that I was happy. I even got a call on Saturday evening from the owner to update me on the Trailer. They set up my entire 2 bedroom condo and not a single item was damaged. Not a wine glass or fragile item, nothing. The price went down (had a ceiling guarantee) by $197.50 for my final bill. I'll take it! I wanted to thank HMS Moving for an unbelievable move and a truly nice experience. First class all the way. I don't even know where to begin. We were extremely anxious about our move from Washington, DC to Boston. My husband and I were at the point of bickering over who would handle the move and the budget. He wanted to save money as did I, however, I finally convinced him that when moving, trust and quality go a longgggg way. It just seemed as though every company that we called seemed so pushy and wouldn't guarantee the things that we needed. (Plus, HMS came out and met us on site for an estimate.) Tight dates, for one. Also, his company was offering assistance, but not in full, so we were still price conscious!\r \r I heard HMS' ad on the radio. I never heard of them, so I googled it and was amazaed at some of these reviews. But still, a great review form someone else doesn't guarantee our move. But, I decided to call and wow am i glad that I did.\r \r The customer service and attitude and overall professionalism of this company was utterly unbelieveable. I mean unbelieveable. We got our dates completely guaranteed, the pricing was reasonable (and fully guaranteed), our options were fully exlplained with reagrds to insurance coverage and dos and don'ts.\r \r Move Day:\r Very nice looking and CLEAN truck\r Wonderfully nice workers\r Experienced and hard working people\r Our furniture was wrapped immaculately\r They packed our pictures and hanging clothes \r The delivery was excatly on time and was also not easy, (3 flights and tight ones) but HMS exhibited hard work and care and got it done with what seemed to be general ease.\r \r We paid nothing until the job was done, per the quality guarantee. We filled out a check sheet of all the things that were supposed to happen. Our driver recapped the move and made sure that everything was completed.\r Our coordinator called before the move a few times, during the move and after the move, just to make sure that we were happy. \r \r In all, I can honestly say that this company has the very best service that we have ever seen from any kind of company doing any kind of service. I just wanted to thank HMS and Keith Orlandella for an exceptional move. Everything that you told us would happen did happen. Exactly as promised. The guys were very courteous to our staff and they worked very hard and smart. This was a major multiple part move within Boston and also some items were moved beyond Boston. My company has moved me several times to many different places. (California, Louisiana, Florida and Manhattan to name a few) I will say that most of the moves have been decent, but let me just tell you right now that HMS Moving Services was absolutely excellent. I can truly say that these people made us feel like royalty the whole way through. The pricing was very competitive and the service was just wonderful. Our driver, Dee, was very receptive to our needs and kind and also quite careful. His helpers, Shawn and Keith were fast and also careful. (The truck was enormous too.) Dee had a whole house inside the cab of the truck. He actually stayed with the truck overnight! The delivery was excellent. Fast and mistake free and on time. We were blown away by the incredible attention to detail and the true care that HMS put into our move. Sincere thanks again for a job extremely well done. more

We hired HMS after a reasonably long search for a moving company whom we felt would act on our best behalf and would provide us with old fashioned service. That is something that my husband and I have found, is not easy to find. ( Moving to Washington, DC all the way from Boston can be daunting!) We received an on site estimate from Shawn who explained every detail of the process and also reassured us from the beginning that our items would be safe and in the hands of real professionals. We liked him very much from the start, however, we had to check to be sure. I called the BBB and also asked for a copy of their certificate of insurance. (I never really had a doubt, but had to check for due diligence purposes!) Next, we received an email estimate within about 8 hours and all pricing and loading and delivery dates were guaranteed. HMS also afforded us $40,000 of full replacement coverage as well. HMS was there to assist us on every question, they always answer their phones and they were extremely helpful and polite too. Lastly, the movers were simply fantastic. They wrapped everything well and wasted very little time on both ends. No damages, no delays, no price increases.
