Wow. I hope people read about my experience before going to this place. All I can say is that over the two week period that it took to get my car fixed, RJ&G fell short in three key categories: estimation of cost, estimation of time, and the most important category, COMMUNICATION. Here is a brief overview of my contact with Jerry and the guys at RJ&G. Let me describe Jerry so that you know who I am referring to: he is an older white male in his mid to upper 50's or low 60's with white hair. Anyway, here is a recap of my experience: I bumped a curb on a Thursday morning and took my car to RJ&G. Time after time, they failed to return phone calls. Finally I was given an estimate of about $600, but by the end of the two weeks that it took them to fix my car, the total came to $1150. I was so frustrated with their lack of professional communication: Jerry would tell me he would call me back just to get me off of the phone, and then never call me back. Twice, Jerry told me I needed one more part in order to fix the car. It took him one week to order the final part from the time he indicated I needed said part. I wonder if they did not “accidently” break those extra parts and then pass the mistake on to me. In total it took them two weeks to fix my car after telling me it would take a day and a half. Feel free to request more information from me: the entire documentation of my experience exceeded the number of characters this website allows. more

Wonderful Service 1/18/2009

In December 2008 my car was struck in the Crabtree mall parking lot (small parking spaces, Xmas shoppers everywhere, you get the idea...) by some woman who's insurance was covering the repairs. There was body damage to the driver's side rear door, rear quarter panel and wheel cover. I chose RJ&G as my repair center and had no previous experience with them.\r \r When I dropped my car off I was greeted by Travis who came and took pictures of the damage and explained what they would do to repair it. I told him that in addition to the damage the lady caused in the mall parking lot, could he fix a scrape on the underside of the passenger door from a few months back when I ran over a huge rock. He said it'd be easy since it was small and they'd have the paint already mixed. He quoted me $50.\r \r My car was completed in about a week and when I went to pick it up Travis told me he had completely forgot about the rock incident repair, and that if I left it overnight for him he would do it first thing in the morning. It probably took him not more than an hour because by 9am the next morning he had called to say the car was done. I went to pick it up and he said he was so sorry for the inconvenience and that he wasn't going to charge me for the passenger side repair... it was my ""Christmas gift"" from them. Awesome. :)\r \r I highly recommend RJ&G for car repair. They are the friendly type family-run business that are so hard to find nowadays, always smiling. They did a fantastic, professional job on my car and have every reason to take pride in their work. Thanks guys! Pros: Great customer service, very knowledgeable and honest more

Avoid it like the plauge 10/5/2007

Several years ago I had some scratches on the hood of my car and took it to RJ & G for painting. When I picked the car up, it was parked with the front bumper up against a hedge. After driving home I noticed that the front bumper was damaged. The paint was peeling off of it, as if someone had spilled some paint solvent on the bumper. I took it back to the shop and complained about it, but they swore that it was like that before I took the car to them. The scratches were from vandalism and the insurance company took pictures of the front of my car. The damaged bumper wasn't damaged before I took it to RJ & G. To this day RJ & G refuses to take responsibility for this damage. I find that locals avoid this place as it is a den of thieves.\r Pros: They did a good paint job on my hood. Cons: They causes several hundred dollars damage to my bumper and refused to fix it. more

Customer for life! 7/23/2006

As a 20-something, female - I'm always a bit wary of mechanics and repair shops.. but RJ&G is simply the best. When I was involved in an accident, I chose them because of a reference from a friend...they went above and beyond what was required even rotating my tires for free and calling me often to provide updates abou the repairs. The body work and paint looked perfect and the staff was incredibly friendly. It's the only place I'll consider taking my car now. Pros: Friendly staff, great work, not overpriced. more
