I called Green Choice last week to clean my new rug. This company was my first choice because they call them selfs a "green company" that use only green brands...Well, it's a fraud! If you want a business that will ruin your carpet with toxic products, so call Green Choice. My carpet was a disaster when it came back, it had a bad smell, and they did not agree to give me a refund. So if you know what's best for you, stay away from Green choice, thay are a scam! more

I contacted Green Choice Carpet cleaning service in Brooklyn Heights to have my bedroom carpet cleaned and also to have an area rug cleaned. They arrived on schedule to clean the bedroom carpet, but they did not bother to move any furniture that was on the floor. I was charged for cleaning one room of a certain size, but only about 1/3 of the carpet was actually cleaned because they did not bother to move the side tables, dresser, bed or any other items on the floor. I was not notified in advance that I would need to move any of these items myself. I assumed that for $100, the entire carpet would be cleaned. With respect to the area rug (a 10'x10' rug), the carpet was taken away to be cleaned at their warehouse. I was told it would be returned in 5-7 business days and the it would be unrolled and put back in place by the delivery person. I had to contact the cleaner after more than 7 business days had passed with no word. I was told that it was in fact ready for delivery and I scheduled that. I was given a window of time for the delivery and made accommodations to be home during that window. However, the driver contacted me in the morning to ask if he could come earlier. I made arrangements for my nanny to get back to the apartment early to accommodate his request. She moved everything so that he could easily lay it back down, though she would need his help to lift up the sofa so that it could go back where it belonged. He brought the carpet in rolled up and wrapped in paper and told her he was double parked and couldn't roll it out for her. She asked him to wait while he called me to find out what to do but he just left. The service was sub-par in my opinion and I would not recommend them nor use them again. more

I truly expected that when the cleaning technician from Green Choice arrived at my house that he would be in a state of shock at the condition of my home. But he was very nice and explained what would need to be done. And what was great about this guy was that he didn't pressure me in any way. He just told me in a matter-of-fact manner what he would need to do to remove all of the stains. And the price he offered me was extremely reasonable - a lot less than I expected to spend. I also had a large rug which was dirty and in need of repair. The tech told me that he would bring the rug to their factory and he gave me a very reasonable price on that as well and he said that the company always offered free pick-up and delivery so there would be no extra charge for that. The technician did a very nice job in my house and my rug was just delivered to my home today, as promised. I am really, really grateful because this rug was a wedding present from my parents and I was ready to throw it out because of its terrible condition. Green Choice has been a godsend and I thank them very much for a job very, very well done. Thanks, Green Choice! more

I have to say I am very, very pleased with my recent experience with Green Choice. This is the first time I have used them. I called Green Choice because my family has severe allergies and I read in their website that they don't use any chemicals. I was really happy about this because I had held off having my carpets and upholstery cleaned because I was afraid that my kids would have a reaction to the chemicals used to clean the carpets and furniture. Both of my kids have had major problems with chemical reactions and I've now switched to all green products to clean my kitchen, bathrooms, etc. The carpet technician who came to my home was very courteous and nice and he answered all my question very patiently. And beieve me, I had a million and one things to ask him! I was really nervous because although I wanted him to do the work, I was afraid for my kids. He assured me that everything the company uses is all natural and not to worry. This helped to alleviate my concerns and I gave him the go-ahead to get started. He shampooed the carpets in the three bedrooms in my house, along with the living room and basement. He also steam cleaned my couch, armchair and shampooed my kids' mattresses. My kids are 7 and 8 years old so they've had quite a few accidents in their beds when they were younger but I didn't want to spend the money to buy new mattresses. One thing I want to point out is that the technician was very honest. I thought my couch and armchair would need to be shampooed and not just steamed but he told me that it was not necessary. I really appreciated his honesty because he could have easily said that a shampoo was necessary and thus charged me more money. The technician really took his time doing everything and he even checked over his work to make sure everything was to my satisfaction. I am so happy with the job he did. My carpets and furniture look amazing and my kids' beds are clean as a whistle. And the absolute best part is that there was no smell of chemicals and my kids are doing absolutely fine - they didn't have any adverse reactions to the cleaning. I will definitely use Green Choice in the future and I highly recommend them! more

Writing this so no one has to go through what we did! I had a very different experience than those who gave their reviews so far (some seem to have the same pitch. Maybe it’s the company or someone related). At first we fell for the green aspect of the company and decided to hire them to clean our cheap rugs since my husband has allergies and my dog peed on one of the rugs and we have a newborn home. When the technician came, he seemed very nice and knowledgeable and admired our 100+ year-old Persian rug. My dog had also peed on one small corner of it and the colors had bled. The technician said it was a sin not to get it cleaned and gave us a bid of $1,500 to clean it professionally and restore the color as well as scotch guarded and would clean the other cheap rugs for free. He seemed professional and we figured the company was green after all or so we thought. He said our rugs would be ready in 10-14 days. After two weeks it was a hassle to get a hold of the company. Most of the time, the call would go to a mailbox where no one ever got back to you. They would get our order confused and our delivery dates mixed up. It took a month to get our rugs back. When we got them back they seemed they were washed but there was dust and a black powder all over them. However, my Persian got the worst. The seams were torn and there were patches of wool missing. There were white spots all over and the wool lost its sheen and looked dry and fried (think bad perm hair). As far as the color restoration, the rest of the rug now matched the color bled area due to the dog pee. We immediately spoke to owner who said he would come the next day and never showed up. He then said he would have it fixed and would call me to arrange a pick up. It took them two days to get back to me to arrange a pick up. Meanwhile, we never heard an apology or explanation just attitude and a quick "we will fix it up". During the two days, I had two appraisers come and see the rug and they both agreed that the rug was cleaned like the other cheap rugs: thrown into an industrial washing machine. No restoration done what so ever and hanged from one corner to dry (hence the rips). Definitely not the TLC we paid for. This rug was an expensive anniversary present and did not want any further damage done to it. After all, how can we trust a company that at first bowed to take care of it and didn’t but on top never apologized. The other appraisers too urged us not to send it with them since apparently Green Choice does not know what they were doing when it comes to Persian rug care and instead are ruining pieces of art (plus who knows by when I was going to get it back). When we refused to send it for repairs and asked for the insurance information (their website says work is guaranteed), the owner got incredibly pissed off and started yelling and screaming at me at the top of his lungs. Needless to say we are proceeding with this legally. We also found out that they send the rugs to be cleaned to the same place other non-green companies send their orders…plus they only take cash or checks…how shady is that…so much for green…hope this helps others from making the mistake we did. Take your business elsewhere and avoid the headache and the heartache. more

I was given a 2 hr time frame for when the cleaners would arrive at my apartment and was told that I would receive a call 30 minutes before they arrived to give me a heads up. This allowed me to get my apartment ready (e.g. removing linens from my bed so that the carpet underneath my bed could be cleaned). They called 20 minutes before they arrived, and when they did, Yaniv and his partner moved my furniture around to get access to as much carpet as possible. They even moved my mattress and boxspring from my bed frame, so that they could get access to the carpet underneath my bed. I found Greenchoice here on Citysearch, and called them to clean my sofa. I have had my sofa for more than 10 years and never had it cleaned once. The Greenchoice technician was very careful to protect my flooring, and even cleaned the area surrounding the sofa once he was done. With a perpetually shedding dog, this was no small feat; and it was done using all organic cleansers (so I don’t have to worry about my dog sleeping and playing on the couch).
